I'd have to say The Hurler at Kings Dominion. The b/f and I rode that about a week ago. During the first turn, after the drop, I cracked my head into my b/f's side.... my ear still hurts..

MaXair seems to be having some problems as well. It went down early on 5/15 and didn't appear to start back up at all that day. It was down nearly all day, if not completely all day 5/16. It was going through test cycles as we were leaving Cedar Point at around 7pm. Being that CP isn't my home park, I haven't been many times, so I don't know how often breakdowns like this occur.

skylab and shake rattle and roll

My b/f started comparing these footers to those of other coasters and he thinks they look a lot like the footers for Skyrush. Whatever it is, he thinks it'll be an Intamin.

Ooooh! I wish, I wish I didn't have to work!

Last season, while at the top of the Eiffel Tower, a guy points to the Son of Beast and asks an employee what ride that was. The employee tells him that it was The Beast and that it was soon to be torn down. The guy asks why, and the employee tells him that it was just old (over 20 years). I do realize that he could have been screwing with the guy. I didn't correct him...just giggled and walked away. Lol
-
Erm...no. The Beast's first drop is a great picture. The helix. What TheCrypt posted. Even an overview of it. Also, the picture was Son of Beast with a loop. How can Nat Geo write an article about roller coasters and not even figure out that Son of Beast is different than The Beast? How can you expect Nat Geo to figure it out when KI employees (well, employee at the Eiffel Tower) can't? Lol

Fast Lane "Plus" Comes to some of the Cedar Fair Parks
zombiejane replied to CoasterGeek101's topic in Kings Island
I guess my point is, people with FLP don't get to jump onto the ride as soon as they hit the station. Some rides have queue lanes like Diamond back, and you go straight to the station. As I mentioned before, if too many FLP holders hit the line at once, not all of them get to go into the station at once. They don't seat FLP holders to the exclusion of everyone else. They alternate between the lines to ensure that the non-FLP holders get to move through the line as well. Rather than doing what Disney does (at least according to other posters) and charging everyone for the option to jump ahead in line. CF gives park goers the option. If CF does what Disney does, the price of tickets and passes will skyrocket and that in itself would probably price a lot of people out of even being able to go to the park...period. My b/f and I are by no means loaded... We plan our trips WAY in advance, and budget ourselves accordingly to be able to pay for the things like the FLP. Do we purchase FLP at Kings Island? No, it's our home park and we can go whenever. Do I purchase them when I go to Cedar Point or other out of town parks? Yes, our visits to those parks are extremely limited and we want to get as much out of our trip as we can. -
Fast Lane "Plus" Comes to some of the Cedar Fair Parks

I dont think most of you know how Fast Lane works. At CP, on rides that load one train at a time, you are integrated into the line at a certain point (not directly at the station)....you do not get to immediately board the ride if there are people ahead of you at the integration point. If 50 FLP holders hit that ride at once, not all of them get to jump ahead of everyone else. A certain number will be allowed through, then a certain number of non-FLP holders will be allowed in, and so on. For CP rides that load 2 trains at once, one train is for non-FLP and the other for FLP. I havent used the KI FLP, but from observation they do not integrate like CP.....but you dont jump staight on the ride either. You still have to wait behind the people that are IN the station about to get on (unless, of course, there is a lane with no one already in it). But that is just from what I have seen. I've only really ever observed it on Diamonback, Delirium, and Drop Tower. Who knows what it will be like when FLPP starts... Though, if anyone does get an FLP @ CP....you better have a thick skin and maybe a taser... Last year we ran into several mean non-FLP holders in and out of line. One guy seemed like he was on the verge of jumping into the FLP line to re-arrange my face. -

Thanks for the Busch Gardens info! We will be taking a trip to Virginia for Busch Gardens and Dominion. I had no clue that Busch Gardens had their own version of Fast Lane. Personally, we only use Fast Lane options when we are visiting parks out of town. Being that we are only visiting the park(s) for one or two days, Fast Lane-ish options, it allows us to get more out of our visit. Last year was my first ever visit to Cedar Point. After being in lines for 4 hours, we had only been on one ride (Millenium Force broke down after about 2 1/2 hours in line and didn't open for an hour or 2 after that... and Mantis took over an hour to get on). Being that it was my first visit, and it isn't like Cedar Point is our 'home' park, Fast Lane was a great option to be able to add! We just rode each ride once and called it a day. This year, we'll be going to Cedar Point, Dominion, and Busch Gardens. We'll be getting the upgrade for each park. We don't/won't get the upgrade for Kings Island being that it is our home park, and last year we went 1 - 2 times per week (we'll have plenty of time to ride what we want). Also, it isn't like we're swimming in money either....we just budget for these things when planning our vacations. -
I just want it to hurry up and be April. I`ve had enough winter. ....and lil` man has an inch to go before he can ride most of the big boy rides! While I loved being able to ride The Beastie again, I'm ready to take him on The Beast!

Whatever they are doing, I doubt it would be on anything really tall....we`d be able to see them doing it when driving by the park.

Interesting difference in pass type descriptions
zombiejane replied to khaoskat's topic in Kings Island
If you want good deals, pre-buy everything online. Last year we went to CP and we each got 2-day passes for the price of one day and $10 meal tickets. -
Maybe it‘s a hint that WindSeeker will be running again? Maybe they really are doing something with The Racer`s track. I may be looking at the snow photo wrong, but there doesn`t appear to be any metal on the cleared portions of the track. Maybe a big red teaser where the queue for where a new ride will be in 2014.

I didnt even know she had them until a few years ago. I dont even know if she knows where she put them. Lol Mom has a way of putting things in a place that is SO safe, she doesnt even know where it is. Lol

When I was 8, my mom and I had gone to Universal Studios. The day we went, 3 of the main attractions were experiencing difficulties, so we were issued vouchers to return. We also got do a walk through tour of the earthquake ride. We never did get to go back to the park though. Mom says the vouchers dont expire, but after 23 years, I doubt they'd still take them...lol

It's all about how you're built. I'm 5'5" and had to stop quit going to KI when I was a teen and went over 220 (in '97). But, I carry my weight in my hips and most rides at the time were not built for my booty. I quit going mainly for fear that I would eventually have to get off of a ride for not fitting. Although I'm 180 now, Racer, The Beast, and Drop Tower are a little uncomfortable.
-
i hope they show a little bit of love to The Racer before the park opens. the ride looks and feels a little neglected.
-
I don't know, shouldn't be a copyright issue. Also, I think the names on other doors were correct.
-
speaking of carnevil....there is a slight error on one of the doors at the end. the door reads 'freddy c.' if they were referencing 'a nightmare on elm street', it should read 'freddy k.' i would fix it myself, but that would probably be viewed as vandalism by the park.

How Many Visits Did You Make to Kings Island in 2012?
zombiejane replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
1-2 times a week except opening week and the weekwe went to Cedar Point. -
not to change the wooden coaster subject, but i would like to see a blitz coaster go in.

So, in effect, you wet yourself? Essentially, YES! It made me happy to think that the person to sit in that seat after me was going to be left wondering what they'd just sat in. lol
-
The only thing I remember from my first ride was...well, I don't really remember it. My last right was a wet one. Early in the season, when I rode it, the attendants wouldn't take my water bottle, so I just wedged it behind me in my seat. I never had ANY problems with this until the last time I rode for this season. During take off, the lid loosened and, well, the rest is self explanatory.
