  1. I don't think KK will overthrow KI at all, but when you're in any industry you have to keep a close eye on any potential competition.
  2. *I added Congo Falls to the thread given its close proximity to the Timberwolf Amphitheater* Despite being around since 1982, Timberwolf Amphitheater, formerly known as Stadium of the Stars, has seen less and less crowds as seasons progress. Many cherish the memories and would like it to stay while others believe that its a waste of space and should be removed. Should Timberwolf be removed or not? If you voted no in the poll, please explain why. Looking forward to hearing some of your opinions. My two cents: I voted yes and for a new coaster. I personally wouldn't mind if it bit the dust if something thrilling were to take its place. In my opinion a dive coaster or even a launched coaster could fit in that spot, especially if the park decided to remove Congo Falls from its current location.
  3. I agree incomes play a huge role in park attendance. For example forget about the Ohio river flooding and imagine if Coney Island started to add more KK style roller coasters to their lineup- you would start to see more seasonal attenance for CI and slightly less attendance at KI. If a family can save a couple bucks to go to an amusement park thats cheaper, they generally will. Like what @jtro223said, KK will slowly chip away at KI's Kentucky market. Ed Hart wouldn't have returned to KK if he didn't see the potential the park had. I still see signs for KK all over Cincinnati
  4. I agree that not paying attention to KK would be a huge error. Though KK has stricter height restrictions and less land than KI, they can continue to add a diverse set of attractions. KK could add a dive coaster to their lineup- something that no park in a 100 mile radius has. The same could be said if they added a 4d freespin or any other unique coaster that KI lacks. Enthusiasts might have a different opinion on rides but Dive Coasters and Freespins are always GP eaters.
  5. I want a coaster that you can walk around entirely- one thats surrounded by walkways where the coaster interacts with pathways and guests. Think Blue Fire- notice the surrounding pathways. I don't know if those paths are part if the que or what but I bet it provides an awesome viewpoint for guests.
  6. Changing the direction a little bit, do you guys think X-Base will always be a dead end or will the park add another path?
  7. @chugh43 This has turned into "Hawaiian Coaster 325's Giga Certainty Thread" where no other subjects can be talked about and everything has to be about a giga.
  8. An *original* ground up wooden coaster
  9. I honestly think removing the antique cars was one of the poorest decisions in my opinion. The park has little to no "Grandparent rides" except for the train and a few others. I hope we see the cars sometime in the near future.
  10. Agreed, we need more flats before adding a giga. If Canada's Wonderland has an uneven ratio of flats to coasters then Kings Island has an uneven ratio of coasters to flats. @Hawaiian Coasters 325, chill out man. We just got an awesome wooden coaster last year and the park has looked way better this season appearance wise than in years past. We still have a long way to go before we get a giga. Its been 86 pages and its literally been nothing but concepts and arguments.
  11. @Hawaiian Coasters 325 You're speaking from an enthusiast's perspective. There's still a huge number of Kings Island GP who would like a new standup coaster, a dive coaster, or something else before a giga. The GP are the people who bring money to the park so the chain has to look at each park's demographics and see what would fit best. Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland didn't really have a big coaster lineup so adding gigas was a step in the right direction. Kings Island currently has a great coaster lineup so they don't need a giga like other parks do.
  12. You are correct. Kings Island could add a dive coaster or another multi launch coaster and people would come. Though most of us would absolutely love to see a giga come, the park doesn't necessarily need it to boost attendance. Kings Island has such a loyal GP that its pretty content with whatever the park adds.
  13. Because the comment is stating the parks Cedar Fair wants to develop more. I'm sure Cedar Fair wants Carowinds to get attendance numbers similar to what KI, CP, and Canada's Wonderland have. I'd say Cedar Fair is pretty happy where KI is right now so they're making other parks the priority for the time being.
  14. I'm curious to see if this land will somehow connect to X-Base in some way
  15. Well neither is Canada's Wonderland but they're getting a coaster for 2019. Even though Cedar Fair wants to grow some of their other parks, Kings Island is still one of the chain's biggest money makers so don't let what Mr. Zimmerman says scare you.
  16. I'm suprised that Cedar Fair decided to debut 3 RMC's in the same year.
  17. You have the giga literally surrounding the fireworks launching area. That's a huge safety hazard and the ride would have to be shut down during firework operation.
  18. What would your choice in colors be? I would chose green track with white supports. I wouldn't choose red because that would be kinda pointless with already having a hyper the color red. I'd also exclude blue track just because three gigas already have blue track. There's fewer coasters out there that are green as opposed to red or blue.
  19. Send it to Carowinds so they can finally get their launched coaster
  20. Something is always happening SOB pulling a Terpy
  21. In my opinion, unless there's a significant mechanical error that cannot be fixed, a roller coaster shouldn't be removed unless there's a better ride to replace it.
