Let me say something to all the people complaining about the announcement- no one really cares. The removal Antique Cars was one of the biggest upsets to families who have been going to Kings Island for countless years prior to 2004. There are very mild few rides that families can do together outside of Planet Snoopy and the train. Whenever I go to the park, I see grandparents standing at the fence watching their grandchildren riding rides that they themselves cannot enjoy anymore due to some type of physical restraint. The return of the Antique Cars gives something the entire family can ride, grandparents included. I'm sure parents who spend hundreds of dollars on goldpasses, season tickets, and general admission will be happy to ride something other than just small kiddie rides in Planet Snoopy with their children. My mom, for example, was extremely excited for the return of the Antique Cars because that was something we did when she used to take me up to the park when I was little and now she can do the same with my little sisters. Little kids will be able to drive a "big car" with their parents or grandparents with them. Overall I think that this return was long overdue and I welcome it. In response to the teaser posters online- no one really cares. Enthusiasts aren't only the one's that make the park money, a vast majority of revenue comes from families. Those posters were easter eggs at best- if they're something more than its just future speculation at this point. I find it hilarious that people actually thought that they'd make an announcement as huge as Son of Beast returning without any announcement dates up until a few days prior. Mystic Timbers and Banshee were literally hyped for the entire summer before an announcement date was even given. People who believed that today's announcement was going to have anything to do with those posters should take some time and actually learn about the industry before rushing to conclusions. Since Cedar Fair bought Kings Island we've gotten 4 roller coasters over the course of 11 years- that's a pretty impressive feat considering some parks haven't even received half of that. Cedar Fair knows where their money is coming from so they're going to invest as they see fit. I'm happy the Antique Cars are making a return!

Kings Island 2019 announcement - Watch Live
SonofBaconator replied to malem's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
KI's Instagram's quality is really good if any of you want to watch it live on there if anyone's having pc problems. -
Fury 325 pays homage to the Charlotte Hornets so it would be cool if KI could pay homage to one of Cincinnati's teams. That would be awesome but they'd have to do some MAJOR retracting around The Beast, then you'd have the lonnnnnng ride from Coney Mall to the water park. Also they'd have to add a third locomotive and more passenger cars to increase capacity which is hard to come by in today's world.

@silver2005 very true, I should have worded it better- "evidence that suggests a giga" would be more like it

Same with Fronteirtown at Cedar Point

I feel like new life is breathed into this thread and into the B&M giga believers. KI fans have wanted this for years and we finally have some legit proof of a giga coming to KI.

Just for fun: FINAL 2019 announcement predictions

Son of Beast Wooden RMC Terrain Giga Uphill in the Snow -
A couple of things to note. The first is a file on Warren County's website listing improvements to Kings Island from 2018-2020. Look at the bottom of the picture. We could be seeing something be as early as 2020 according to this file. Also with the addition of Yukon Strike to Canada's Wonderland we know that Cedar Fair isn't afraid to break its own records since YS basically shatters VR's records within 3 years of being built. With that being said, it wouldn't suprise me if KI built a ride that was superior to Fury 325.

The project that @boddaH1994 and @Old_Bearcat are referring to could be a Coney Mall overhaul that is done in phases. Phase 1 could have been the BBQ Phase 2 could be what they're announcing tomorrow Phase 3 could be B&M's involvement. If B&M on the document indicates the giga we've all been hoping for, I wouldn't be surprised if the park would want to renovate Coney Mall before its debut.

If its antique cars, they could use the land to the far left of Coney Mall, between Zephr and WindSeeker. This was an idea I had a while ago for a possible antique car return. It's right along the midway so people can see the cars go by. While putting it in the DA woods is more realistic, it would also be hard to watch the cars. Just a thought. I always thought that part of the park needed some love. Also to encourage the 'tiques- on @Fye Coasters Facebook page there's a teaser that says "returned in 2006... but something was missing." The Antique cars were removed before 2006.

I always thought it would be cool if the park could "shed" the last part of Adventure Express and enclose the ride from the lifthill to the station and add some additional theming.

Lets do some thinking really quick. Son of Beast? No. Even if the rumors are true they'd hype it up like how they hyped up Banshee during the 2013 season. Crypt? Highly unlikely- especially since Rivertown just got a new addition a year ago. Flat ride? Possibly since the last flat ride the park got was in 2015, the last huge one being in 2011. Racer redo? Most likely since Racer is needs some work done. Plus the hint says something old will be new again so maybe that means that The Racer will run like new? If its not The Racer, which I'd be very suprised if it isn't, it could be an old KI flat that hasn't been in the park in years like a witches wheel or the antique cars. Heck maybe we'll get both a Racer rehab and a returning flat.
