I actually thought of this when I heard the FH rumors. -
Send Firehawk to Michigan's Adventure
-
Pros and Cons to Firehawk Pros- Its a unique ride that gives a fun riding experience. It's in a cool section of the park that compliments Flight of Fear. Cons- The lift hill is extremely loud, you stare up at the sun for what seems like an eternity, capacity is horrible, its down more times than it should be, and the line for it is horrible. Like what @Gordon Bombay said, I'd be surprised and bot surprised if they did away with it. The Flying Dutchman model has become pretty obsolete ever since B&M made their own flying model. If something better were to replace it, like a giga, I'd be fine with it leaving. Sorry to all the users that are named after Firehawk

SeaWorld Orlando ditching VR on Kracken
SonofBaconator replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The VR was very synched with the ride perfectly until the break run, at least that's what I've noticed when I saw the povs. I think VR only works on rides that have no MCBR. -
These are old numbers that @malem had posted a while ago. If you go by the numbers of 2014, Vortex is the 5th most ride at the park with a ridership of a little over a million- compare that to Firehawk which has nearly half of Vortex's ridership. I wonder if capacity would improve on Firehawk if they shaded the break run and only used one side of the station.

I'm hearing a lot of people who are disappointed with the way haunt is run every year. I've only experienced Haunt because I was too young to go to Fearfest so I only know about Haunt and Fearfest through old videos, pictures, and this thread. Was it better during the Paramount era because of the movie company aspect?
-
I might have asked this before but could new trains ease some of the pain experienced on Vortex?
-
Nope, notta, negatory, never in a million years would I do that- not even for a whole box of Scooby snacks.

Banshee gift shop converted to arcade
SonofBaconator replied to chuck norris's topic in Kings Island
It doesn't really help when there's a bigger gift shop right across the way. I wish KI had a store that had old, nostalgic shirts and merchandise of past rides and attractions like Cedar Point does. If they sold Screaming Demon or Phantom Theater retro shirts I'm sure nerds and old time riders would buy them. -
No love for an RMC trex, or would you prefer a coaster that's floorless?
-
I think B&M Flyers are going to be Cedar Fair's next coaster trend. People have been wanting a flyer to come to CP for a while so it wouldn't surprise me if we saw some added to parks in the chain which would, in my opinion, make Firehawk and Nighthawk obsolete.

Fun fact- The Beast is not only the longest wooden coaster in the world but also the longest coaster in the US. Imagine a giga that surpasses the length of The Beast.
-
I am not sugarcoating this in anyway... HOLY CRAP THIS LOOKS AMAZING! I hope that you have a future in some type of planning and design.
-
I'm not predicting anything but it might be wise to pay attention to any land clearing and equipment either in the old DA area or the space between Adventure Express and Flight of Fear for next season.

Bumping the thread. I think Kings Island doesn't want to lose any rides at this point- there are still a lot of people who want old rides to come back- King Cobra, KCKC, Phantom Theater, Son of Beast, Der Spinnen Keggers, etc. However, since this is a "get rid of" thread I'd have to say Boo Blasters or Congo Falls. Boo Blasters is just kinda there as a dark ride and could use a retheme and overhaul. Congo Falls is in a weird space of the park and should be "pushed somewhere else" like Rivertown. I get it made sense when the Action Zone was safari themed but it seems out of place. If Congo Falls can't be relocated within the park, I could see it being removed in favor of a new attraction.

I'm suprised Missouri Jane hasn't appeared in the shed

A 90° drop is something the park doesn't have yet and something we could definitely use in our lineup. I hope that with all the concepts, predictions, and requests we have that we won't be disappointed when a giga eventually does come. Enthusiasts can get a little too big for their britches.

@Hawaiian Coasters 325 no, I'd prefer to have to have two seperate coasters. I can't recall the last time Canada's Wonderland has had a record breaking coaster so there's no need to beat them. Besides, its more about the experience than the height anymore. We'll get our giga soon and maybe a dive coaster in the far future when the trend dies out. Now that doesn't rule out the possibility of a giga with a 90° drop as Fury is 81°

The Amusement Park Railroad Thread
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Chapter 4- Carowinds There isn't much to be found on Carowinds without some serious digging. Carowinds used to have a railroad that circled the park and featured two operating steam locomotives and one that was never used by the park. Here are some pictures I found from Carowinds Early Years- a fan site that specializes in old Carowinds history. http://www.carowindsearlyyears.com/train1.html #1 #1 was an old prairie engine rebuild by Crown Metal Products. The locomotive is currently owned by a businessman out in California and operated on the Pacific Coast Railroad with an ex Six Flags Astroworld Train and an ex Cedar Point train. #1 renumbered to #3 at the PAcific Coast Railroad with the original Disneyland passenger cars #2 #2 was an original Crown locomotive that bares a resemblence to Kings Dominion's old #601. It operated at Carowinds, South of the Border Park, and eventually ended up at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch but was too but to operate continuously on the rails. #2 at South of the Border SC #2 renumbered to #1 at the Neverland Ranch #3 #3 was never operated on the Carowinds railroad and is on display in Huntsville, Alabama. http://trains.nute.ws/4-4-0/P&W3.htm -
The Amusement Park Railroad Thread
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I've been looking for information but I can't really find anything since I've been extremely busy with school and work. I'll get around to it -
https://www.tampabay.com/things-to-do/travel/florida/Busch-Gardens-reveals-plans-for-Tigris-Florida-s-tallest-launch-roller-coaster_171692154 I'm honestly not surprised at this since Sea World Parks has already added two of these coasters across the country. When I heard the headline "Tigris" I thought it was a RMC Gwazi but it turned out to be a Premier Rides multi launch. Seems like a good fit for the park, especially right in the Jungala section by the tigers and how the only other coaster in that area is SheiKra.

Viagra's Eiffel Tower. -
With the addition of employee dorms, I'm curious if we'll see more flat rides in the future. We have been blessed with coasters since the Cedar Fair buy, but flat rides we have not. In terms of flats, we're pretty far behind other parks like Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland. Heck I give Six Flags credit for still adding flat rides to their parks.
