  1. We’re not the only amusement park that has a roller coaster named “Diamondback”
  2. I assume it depends on if the logo is a registered trademark or not- I used to take a business law class in college and we spent half the semester covering logos and trademarks.
  3. While that may be the case for one ride- I wouldn’t apply that to everything. Look at the refurbishments of the Timber Mountain log ride, the Calico mine ride, and Calico river ride that feature animatronics. I think Knott’s wanted to keep that buildings shooting style ride so they took the tech from Voyage to the Iron Reef and applied it to classic IP. Unless the park brings back Phantom Theater like Knott’s did to Bear-y tales, I think it’ll be fine
  4. Some user on Reddit made a pretty cool concept for an updated Phantom Theater:
  5. I suppose not, but things can happen. A lot of children’s play areas have one way in and one way out; ie Chuck E Cheese, McDonald’s Play Place, etc. With pathways to I-Street, Rivertown, and Soak City, Planet Snoopy is by no means a “one way in” section, I just don’t see the need for a transport ride to take people out of that area. A lot of the guests who take their young kids to Planet Snoopy have strollers and wagons that they use, so they’re already planning on walking. I might be the minority, I just don’t see a need for a skyride to go across the park. I personally see skyrides like CP and CGA’s as more of a leisurely ride where people can see the park from a different vantage point. I’m more on board with a skyride that travels the Coney Mall midway, granting guests access views of the park that they haven’t necessarily seen before.
  6. Cedar Point and CGA’s skyrides don’t have stations in their children’s area where as KI’s old layout used to.
  7. While there was a station in Hanna-Barbera land back in the 70s, times have changed. I feel like you run into the issue of kids riding on the sky ride unattended and worries parents looking for their kids. I was felt that the idea of transport rides in kids areas were problematic.
  8. I’m beyond obsessed with the concept Hersheypark chose when they rethemed their Vekoma boomerang. Jolly Rancher Remix’s theming is beautifully executed from the track and support colors, to the changing lights, to the tunnel, and the onboard audio. The fact that each cycle is centered around a different flavor of Jolly Rancher is beyond creative and in a way reminds me of how Mystic Timbers and Verbolten offer different experiences with each ride. I hope more parks go this route in the future when theming their rides, it really does make a difference.
  9. Last time I went to Hershey, it rained so much that they had to shut down a lot of the rides. Does the park of the park where Wildcat is get a lot of foot traffic? It would bring a lot of people to the back of the park if it’s not as packed back there.
  10. I was thinking more along the lines of altered character audio, the presence of Jack-o-lanterns and additional Halloween props, and so on- not so much incorporating live actors.
  11. I understand wanting to be welcome but I personally wouldn’t want a lot of people hanging around the outside of the entrance when they can hang around on International Street. I’d rather resources be spent inside the gates as opposed to outside them.
  12. I personally like our entrance- it conceals what’s on the other side. Once guests emerge on the other side, the whole park opens up as the fountains dance along to the music with the Eiffel Tower and other rides providing the backdrop. Having an entrance like what Cedar Point and Carowinds have would kill that aesthetic. Not everything has to be sleek and modern.
  13. If Phantom Theater were to come back, what would you like to see? Would you want the layout completely remade to look like what it used to be? Would you like to see some scenes changed? Would you like to see some scenes not returned? Honestly I would like to see the whole theater returns to reflect what it used to look like with some minor changes. For one I would personally like to see the lobby area where the main que room is to be brightened up a little bit what is seen in the picture below: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2022/may/giving-phantom-theater-life---an-interview-with-rick-bastrup Speaking of que, I would also bring back the outdoor part of the que as well. I don’t know if this is possible but I think it would be cool if every other ride vehicle would alternate facing positions for certain segments of the ride; other parks of the ride the cars would be facing the same way. For example, when entering the prop room some cars would face the right side of the room and look at what’s happening in that scene while the other set of cars gets rotated to face the left side of the room to see what’s going on on that side. This would give a different ride experience depending on where you sit; similar to how your get a different scene on Mystic Timbers when you enter the shed. Like I said I don’t know if that’s possible but it would still be cool nonetheless. With regards to the rest of the ride, I think that it should remain the same but with modern technology. I love to see the pepper’s ghost effect return along with the rotating busts. Also it would be neat if it could be over laid to reflect the Halloween Haunt and Winterfest seasons respectively.
  14. Imagine the awesome pictures that would come from riding a Coney Mall skyride
  15. Yes, that’s the only picture I’ve ever seen of it
  16. Are there any pictures or footage of when Phantom Theater was a Fearfest attraction?
  17. I believe KD should look at ground up coasters as opposed to relocated ones
  18. Maybe not the look, but perhaps they said that because it spins; albeit in an extremely different way that’s nearly incomparable
