  1. I reported their article on Facebook. I typically could care less about attention seeking bloggers but they’re blatantly using incorrect words to generate more views on their website and social media pages which drives me nuts. CP, or any park for that matter, doesn’t need any potential PR issues from misleading articles.
  2. I think they’re over complicating “brainless” “stupid” “foolish” “dumb.” I don’t know where the writer “left their head” considering how bad that article was. I’ve seen ride ops at KI have to climb lift hills at every now and then- not really something you write an article about.
  3. I feel personally attacked
  4. What are some things KI fans beat a dead horse about?
  5. The waterpark closes at 7 so really there’s no reason to keep the train open past 8. When they used to stay open later, there would only be a few people riding it. I’m sure they’d rather have those conductors staffed somewhere else for the remaining 2 hours that the park is open.
  6. I initially thought that not having a media day for Adventure Port was the wrong move but the more I thought of it, the more I figured it was the right thing to do. If things aren’t completed by opening day, it’s probably best not to have any dates set and opt for soft opens.
  7. Something that I think could/should be a project is repurposing haunt buildings. Worlds of Fun debuted an indoor exhibit that showcases the park’s history. We have so many buildings that sit unused for the majority of the year, surely a building like Killmart could be repurposed as a museum. In fact, I think there are a few creative avenues that could be explored as additional attractions that could be accessed via fast line wristband. Two ideas come to mind: Escape rooms Ada accessible fun house So if you make one building a permanent museum and follow the Fast Lane upsell idea, you could sell more fast lanes as it encompasses more than just rides.
  8. Everything you listed is plausible and has enough logic to back them up. However, with that said, I’m not entirely sure Cedar Fair is the type of chain that would physically resurrect an old IP that has seen controversy. Son of Beast sent 26 people to the hospital and was SBNO for 3 years after another person reported experiencing pain a few years later. Using the ride in posters and Easter eggs is one thing but it’s different to reuse the theme on an actual ride. Take Top Thrill Dragster which suffered a similar fate. It’s been rumored and implied that the ride will undergo a rebrand, abandoning the dragster theme altogether. Could we see a 200ft tall wooden coaster return? Anything is possible with how much technology and safety has improved. Heck Son of Beast isn’t really gone if you account for the track sitting in and outside of the station. Nevertheless, if we were to get a massive 200ft wooden or hybrid coaster, I don’t think it would be called “Son of Beast.” Maybe marketing could get creative and call it “Abomination”, “Iron Son” or something more subtle but I think the SOB brand is history.
  9. Something I’d like to get people’s opinion on: Diamondback’s grass never seems to get too long as it’s regularly cut. Would it look “junky” if they let the grass grow and let nature reclaim part of the park? Normally I’d think overgrown grass would look bad but considering Rivertown is in the backwoods area of the park, would it look more natural?
  10. At least the ad has an old timey look to it that makes it blend in more with the area.
  11. I might not be as well educated when it comes to flat rides and their respective manufacturers, but does the average park goer really care where we get our rides from? Is dad going to be watching the ride from the pathway with his son going “you know these are Zamperla models, they must’ve been wanting to save money.” I get people have their preferences, but at the end of the day it’s not going to stop people from riding.
  12. I often felt bad for Dorney Park… they’re in a market where they have to compete with the likes of Hershey and Great Adventure. It’s impossible to invest anything without the fear of being outdone. Hopefully this addition will keep Dorney competitive on some level but with how popular dives are, Hershey and or Great Adventure could follow up with their own versions.
  13. It’s funny to look at old threads that have since came true
  14. I like how Adventure Express is used to highlight the park’s past lore: Amazon Falls, SOB, King Cobra, etc. It makes sense that a coaster that features ancient ruins would have some metaphorical park ruins incorporated into the theme.
  15. Not only that but the SOB eyes are clearly visible in the background
  16. I’m going to veer off topic for one second. With all the attention to detail they’ve been putting into their new themed lands, I only hope that we see this progress with Rivertown and Action Zone in the coming seasons. Things have been looking too good for the practice to not be applied elsewhere.
  17. Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?
  18. Anytime you are pushing a new product, you typically want to have a hashtag associated with it.
  19. Does 1937 hold any significance or Easter Eggs?
  20. From what I gather, Paramount didn’t really take the time to maintain the ride. I’ve seen multiple POVs from years past where affects weren’t working and some animatronics were basically static figures.
  21. They must’ve had the lawyer from Jurassic Park create their business plan:
  22. I don’t think the average guest really looks at capacity and judges it like enthusiasts do. The average park goer won’t be waiting in line thinking “they should’ve gotten the larger model.” Historically our park hasn’t received a lot of flat rides under Cedar Fair in comparison to other parks in the chain so perhaps going with the lower capacity models will help the chain monitor ridership numbers so they can make decisions down the road.
  23. “Cheap” is an overstatement considering the chain has invested millions of dollars in KI over the last decade alone.. Also, “junky”? What’s junky about modern versions of old favorites that people have been wanting back for years?
  24. Any last minute guesses before Adventure Express reopens?
