  1. I understand where you’re coming from, but if the crack in question was noticed by park goers a week ago, if I’m reading posts correctly, then the park either didn’t notice it or cleared it to operate with a crack. Either way it doesn’t seem like a good look on the park’s end regardless of anything else.
  2. I was just about to say that. If they want overall exposure of the Peanuts brand, they might want their characters to roam the park more.
  3. Maybe I’m wrong but, I’d like to assume that KI staff have seen the video and pictures and conducted their own inspections of their B&Ms.
  4. I retract my statement regarding their media team, I guess I didn’t dig deep enough.
  5. Whether someone from the park noticed it or not, Carowinds screwed the pooch by allowing the ride to operate with a cracked support. I wonder if their media team will address this or be quiet about it.
  6. I see a lot of people trying to point fingers at who’s at fault: Carowinds staff for not catching the issue sooner, CSF for possible faulty supports, or B&M for the design? In a two years Fury will be 10 years old, is that old enough to omit B&M from any responsibility? The same can be said for CSF. From a maintenance standpoint, it’s not like a wood coaster where you see a cracked piece of wood that can easily be replaced- Carowinds can’t slap some glue on it and deem Fury safe. It surprises me that they continued to allow it to operate considering that was apparently noticed a week ago. I’m no engineer, nor do I claim to have accurate knowledge on this stuff, but from what I see, the design might be the main issue. Most of Fury’s layout is low to the ground and has twists all while maintaining high speeds- that has to put a lot of strain on the support structure. Compare that to Leviathan and Orion which, in my opinion, are designed more like traditional hyper coasters. Both coasters don’t have as many high speed twists and seem to be higher off the ground allowing the trains to burn more speed going over hills. I’m sure B&M will be out there to look at Fury, but the biggest questions are how many other supports will have to be redone and will parts of the overall layout be altered to ensure this doesn’t happen again?
  7. @jsus I wonder if other supports will be redone as well. Again, I’m no engineer, but if one support has undertaken that type of stress, there has to be other supports under similar stress.
  8. I’m no engineer but it looks like that support should’ve been angled to take the force of the train by instead of being vertical.
  9. That being said, if Cedar Point adds a coaster that doesn’t break records, that doesn’t mean that people won’t show up to ride it. I don’t think Wild Mouse breaks any records. Nevertheless every coaster technically can break a record if you’re creative with it. Diamondback is the tallest coaster in the world to feature splashdown breaks and the only hyper coaster to feature it. Invertigo is the only ride of its kind in North America. Adventure Express is the longest and tallest mine ride in Ohio. I could go on.
  10. Eh, they don’t need to break records. Take Valravn which debuted as the tallest, longest, fastest, and most inversion filled dive coaster at the time. Now you have Yukon Striker which took some records away from Valravn. People don’t ride Valravn or Yukon Striker because they break records, they mainly ride them because of the drop and inversions. Breaking records is just a marketing ploy to generate exposure. I don’t think people rode Top Thrill Dragster any less because Kingda Ka broke its records.
  11. I wouldn’t be so sure. If you’re going backwards from 410ish feet, you’re going to need some height to burn off that speed, unless they plan on slowing down the trains on the rollbacks or not having the initial launch reach the top hat at all and go halfway up.
  12. This was just a rebranding concept I made years ago, nothing really much to read into.
  13. IIRC, you need goggles to ride Formula Rosa which I don’t think CF would want to bother with. In addition, to break the 149 mph record, you’d need a lot more track to burn off that speed. In terms of height, the spike could be record breaking but I’m not certain of its practicality going from a spike that’s higher than the top hat. I think the thing that Cedar Fair wants to sell with this renovated ride is the constant rollback. In theory you’d get 3 rides in one: the constant rollback of Superman at Magic Mountain, the vertical spike that sends you down face first, again similar to Superman, then a full circuit high speed run like the original TTD.
  14. It’s all about chances. Cedar Fair gave Intamin plenty of chances to show their reliability and they failed to do so: Maverick and I305 had to be redesigned after their initial layouts were constructed, Shoot the Rapids was removed after its accident, TTD’s accident was a PR nightmare for the park. It seems like it was one thing after another. It’s a shame because Intamin produces fun rides but they’re maintenance nightmares when you get down to it. I haven’t heard anything negative about Pantheon or Velocicoaster so maybe they figured it out but nevertheless, they left some scars on Cedar Fair. Who knows, Zamperla might end up the same way but we don’t know until the product is finished. We saw Cedar Fair take a chance on RMC and their additions have been prone to maintenance issues ever since; I believe the original Wonder Woman raptor is undergoing some changes but I could be wrong. These are interesting times in the roller coaster world.
  15. So many people are getting triggered over Zamperla and I’m loving it
  16. I had the thought that if Invertigo ever bit the dust, a surf coaster could be its replacement.
  17. It’s curious that they’re sticking with a racing theme
  18. I was born in the late 90s towards the end of the Disney Renaissance so needless to say I grew up with a ton of great 90s films and remember watching older films that have since been seen to have controversial elements: Dumdo, Peter Pan, etc. Since then there have been studio acquisitions and remakes galore; not to mention the closure of most Disney Stores across the world. With all this said, the question has to be asked: “how will younger generations remember Disney?”
  19. I’ve never been at the park to witness this, I honestly wish they did more of it:
  20. A wild mouse would also be cool but I’m not sure we’d get one since CP has one- maybe if it didn’t spin.
  21. Someone on Reddit made some cool merch not too long ago:
