  1. Unfortunately doesn't look like I'm going to make it to this event. Hope everyone has fun though, and I'm looking forward to the next event!
  2. Fantastic report and great pictures!
  3. 541 feet?? NOPE. Well maybe... That is insanely high.
  4. That saddens me. I get one every year from the Indiana State Fair and it is always juicy and tender. Maybe if I get one early in the day it wouldn't be so bad.
  5. Chili cheese fries from Skyline and blue ice cream. Those turkey legs are looking very tasty though, think I'll try one next visit.
  6. Seeing those supports, I would like to see a color pallet like that on the new coaster. Perhaps a charcoal gray for the supports, and a light gray for the tracks. Gives me that "evil phenomenon" feel.
  7. I remember back in 99 getting stuck on the second lift hill once for about 5 minutes or so. It was raining and a little chilly that day. No one panicked, if anything it provided some nice scenery for a few minutes.
  8. Same as a few here, I like a little bit of everything. Just a playlist I had today followed with some AC/DC to Tupac to Garth Brooks and Linkin Park. It was a strange mix haha
  9. Sounds like you had an awesome day! I've realized after seeing your pics it is a near impossibility to get a bad shot of that fountain. Looks like I need to head up there on a weekday sometime soon to get some major rides in!
  10. Yeah after watching a couple of times I have to agree that it is a coat as well. Maybe explains the lack of reaction from the crowd. No one is going to freak out over a fallen coat.
  11. Not at KI, but at Holiday World. I got stuck on the Halloswings. One of the chain links was bent in such a way that I couldn't unlock myself. The ride attendants couldn't get me out either, and the people in line were all laughing, even some shouting obscenities at me. After a couple cringe filled minutes I finally bent the chain back and was able to unlock myself and booked it on out of there. It was definitely the most embarrassed I have been in an amusement park. I now have this fear that this will happen again any time I ride a ride of the swing variety.
  12. Wow, I really hope they get it settled soon. I definitely would not go to that park knowing that none of the rides are being maintained. What if a ride has a small malfunction, is that ride closed until the strike is over? There could be a bad snowball effect coming of this.
  13. My guess, is that if you're spending $2,600 on a carnival game to win a $100 XBox kinect, you don't have much of a life savings nest egg built up. On a side note, many would be surprised how few a % of people over the age of 30 couldn't scratch up $1000 on short notice to cover an emergency expense. I remember seeing some 60 minutes (or perhaps another news magazine show) story off people looking for work and how some had tapped into their 401(k). One person said they had exhausted their entire 401(k) and was still with out work. Biggest problem was that the person was in their late 50s, maybe even 60s and their value of their 401(k) prior to taking out early withdrawls was like $70,000. For those unaware, $70,000 isn't much of a retirment nest egg, at least that late in one's working career. I'm close to 30 and I rarely have over 1000 in my savings. Its just hard to save up sometimes with my mortgage, 2 car payments, and various other bills. I haven't done it, but I've thought about it plenty of times to tap into our 401(k). Back on topic: I think this guy does have a serious problem, whether it's gambling or not. How do you not know when to draw the line and stop playing the game?? If I spend 20 dollars on a game, I felt like I have over done it. Maybe the banana was telling him to do it, I don't know. Haha
  14. I wonder if Kroger is selling Kings Island tickets yet. Those usually run about 30 bucks.
  15. As of 2012 I have seen WS open for fireworks. Side tracking but anyone ever see WS running opening day? I was their never saw it running and also never even made it back by it, so if it's in a million pieces, I didn't know that lol. It wasn't last year. They were testing this year, but no dice. Maybe next year. Haha
  16. Season pass here as well, but an ice cold fountain Coke sounds amazing right now. Think I'll go get one after I finish mowing my lawn.
  17. Great extensive article! Kind of surprised to see 30% of the injuries coming from carnivals, I would think that number would be higher than amusement park numbers. But I don't feel safe on carnival rides most of the time, so that's probably the reason I'm surprised.
  18. Great trip report so far! Nice to see a bit from the 5k, it looked like a lot of fun. Man, that is a lot of pink!
  19. "Building towards the future" This makes me really happy! Great interview!
  20. I think we are going to get "Grandpa Beast" or "The Son-in-law of Beast" Haha!! Seriously though, I don't know what to think at this point, so many ideas have popped in my head: zombie apocalypse, devils and demons, mutants... Whatever comes of it is going to be exciting and I can't wait for more clues!
  21. 1. Diamondback 2. Beast 3. Flight of Fear 4. Firehawk 5. Invertigo 6. BLSC 7. Racer 8. Vortex 9. Flight Deck 10. Adventure Express Of course all personal preferences
  22. I think I'm going to chalk up the confusion to opening day rust. I'm sure they are going to work the kinks out in the next couple weeks.
  23. I completely agree. Other rides had certain numbers for Fast Lane riders like Delirium and Drop Tower. They were taking 10 FLers at a time. Seemed that way on most rides, but on DB they were getting carried away. I know a couple of times I was standing by the broken phones case and I thought we'd at least have a 15 minute wait from that point, but they were just letting us through. Some tweaks need to be made for sure.
  24. It was nice to meet you as well! Looking forward to writing many more!
  25. Well probably because you only wait 10 minutes while all of us wait 2 and a half hours. I mean I normally don't mind Fast Lane but Saturday I was just mad at them. Maybe it's because I got cranky. Nice TR and nice I got to meet you. I felt like they sold too many Fast Lane passes. The limited number never seemed to run out as I saw people buying them all day long! It was nice meeting you too!
