Only thing btw that I don't like about reds grille.... Sticky floors, dunno if anyone else had the same problem that day or not
-
Nope...just monsters running at ya...I just walked by, swiped in, and went back to the haunts...well..in last Friday's case, the arcade overhang to stay perfectly dry

And we all have not ridden a B&M Invert with these trains before..I'm sure this will be a brand new experience, and almost like riding an invert for the first time again

Cedar Point park rules?
thedevariouseffect replied to Kat's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Coffee is always good...but lately I've been waking up with RipIt drinks.. Best energy drink out there, and it's only a buck..win -
Blown Cable Guide Drum/Piston/Cable...I'm guessing cable guide drum as that was the original part w/ the cables that was replaced off season/early season It's running now one sided (again)...Hopefully by next season she'll be running good. S&S makes very safe reliable rides, and very thrilling..

Intaminitis

Intamin can just be Intamin... I don't see how football correlates to business strategies and ride designs... -
What could KI do to each ride to improve it?
thedevariouseffect replied to thoe124's topic in Kings Island
^I don't see that when I go, nor have I the past three weekends that I have been to CP or any of my other rampant trips this season, or in seasons past before my tenure Also note my crew was voted best crew my year, and our interaction was praised, and if you look alot of crews like the interaction (see this years Gatekeeper crew as a great example) I don't see good customer service or people interaction on rides when I hear "when I say Diamond, you say back" 10x or same crappy spiel on The Beast... If you're saying you cant have speed and efficiency with customer service (even though that speed is something that the customers would def. like, I don't think they'd want a slow crew but would be greeted and full of sunshine and happiness...) You can have both, but KI doesn't have speed, only very rarely and not constant... If I can dispatch corkscrew with full manual restraints, spiel, controlling gates, bins, and answering questions, having fun, and clearing the ride in 45 seconds with my crews there, I don't know why crews like DB that only have minimal tasks to do compared to mine, and they frequently stack or have a delayed dispatch not hitting proper interval... -

Bet you didn't wanna know about the DB road wheel falling off and being fine, or millie's lift blowing, or maggies lift blowing (x2), or the TTD cable snap (x2?), other things...Stuff happens, CF takes safety seriously, you gatta remember these things take these stresses day in and out several months of the year..You're always safe...If you wanna remove Flight Deck, which is pretty darn redundant (not as much as say DB, but still), then man...you really don't wanna know some of the stuff I experienced... -

1. It's a dual racheting restraint, if it clicks up one, your fine, should it...eh no, but it can 2. Do I think seatbelts should be added, yes, but no...Are they a great judge of restraint safety if you can't buckle it, and does it add a small extra layer of redundancy, yes. However it does slow down loading times therefore lowering capacity. 3. I don't want to call you a liar, buuutt....if the restraint did pop all the way up...don't you think you should have let someone know and the ride would have been shut down or the row taped off and looked at, because that is a major failure, because both parts of the restraint failed.. -
No ****...haha I hope the video Don was shooting next to me comes up with all the entries...Man some guys were....wow lol

Which screamer were you, because many of the males sounded more like mating calls or dropping bombs than a scream

How is it exactly stuck?? Confuzzled..that pic is blurry

What could KI do to each ride to improve it?
thedevariouseffect replied to thoe124's topic in Kings Island
^Why can good operational practices not benefit KI...You're telling me you can't have practices that make it easy and safe to run rides close to their theoretical capacity thus pushing more people through the rides, so more rides per day, more value, and also, the less time someone spends in line waiting for a ride, the more time they have on the midways during the day between rides, thus more possible spending, ect... Besides, these low capacity rides can run so much smoother. I'd love to revamp monster for instance...it's a nightmare at KI...could run so much smoother. If I could take a 500-900pph theoretical capacity and instead of running 300-800 or so...make it run really close to that capacity... -
I have yet to try those, but I will at some point. Also speaking of food, any halloweeekends specific food like @ CP coming out? I didn't really look too much on Fri with the rain out, but just curious

I want one...but we kinda have an observation tower...But would I love to have one, but I don't see it happening Btw anyone else have the fear of those tipping, or dropping stuff, ect...Can't stick my arms outside of it with a camera or move around inside, seated, barely moving, just no.

Stud, go work an Intamin and come back to me on how much you love them... great rides, but after working on em for a day, not the best...Dragster moving manual, or millie water dummy testing a whole week...yeah screw that

Whats the funniest rumor youv'e ever heard?
thedevariouseffect replied to DropZone99's topic in Rumors
The Flight Deck removal rumor circa 2006--Current..thing still is going on -
I liked the chips, they were pretty good, the fries were a great upgrade however. Appetizers are good, I liked the buffalo dip I got..The red leg burger is an easy winner.

WindSeeker--Needs someone in controls constantly, the delay of having the controls op check restraints, then go back to lock/relock gates/restraints creates delays. Also their loading procedures and cross checks are slow. Firehawk--After their operationals in whatever it was, 2011 or 2012 when the procedures changed, it decreased capacity by reducing the interval even more. The only reason the changes happened was because of operationals (safeties), which could have been prevented if the crew didn't suck that year (also from what people tell me, mainly minors...hint hint) All coasters--Auto platform gates with gates enable switch on the platform, not the guy in controls. The gates should open with station stop, and close by ride op on platform when necessary, or reopen as necessary, not waiting for controls. Also auto gates do increase capacity by a margin as there is a constant movement of people off and on, not waiting to clear basically, and then move. I think DB like every B&M coaster has this, but I can't be tooo sure, but rides like Vortex/Beast/ect. all don't The station clear, all clear deal--If a high clear is present, that means that the order of clears has gone through, all ops have scanned their sector, and they are ok to give the clear. If the train isn't ready to dispatch as it's not right interval, we call a standby, or if there's an issue, the train isn't cleared. As soon as it's ready, we call a ready, clears go up in order, controls calls clear. Hearing a bunch of clears on platform, especially like at DB, how do you know everyone said clear, and it's also redundant..The three seconds here and there do add up, theoretical capacity can be reached safely when you reduce redundant unneeded things from procedures. There's a few more I'm sure but those came to the top of my head first...And these are all changes that CAN happen easily, and actually will help... -
Quick Overdue Weekend Trip Report (CP Trip 13-15SEP)

Maggie...probably 3rd car, middle row. If he likes it, intense seat is always first car, third row...or car six, first row...excellent seats. -

I rode a few, Maverick was probably had my most rides as we did laps during ERT. However, best ride was still probably Maggie on Sunday with cool weather sans trims in the ejector seat -

What could KI do to each ride to improve it?
thedevariouseffect replied to thoe124's topic in Kings Island
Honestly I don't know why KI has not decided to build dorms and fill international slots at the park...It's not like the park couldn't do this, and honestly getting minors out of rides would get rid of a good bit of operationals (safeties) and other stupid things I've seen blue tags do in the park
