  1. I'm at Wright Patt, CP isn't a 4 hr drive, nor the 3hr30min it's quoted to be by google Hold 80-85 on 75 up, then alot of RT 6 is 45-55, but noone does that, I usually hold 65 except through residential areas I'll do limit to be safe. Record was 2hr 40 min by me for my first trip up But yeh like I said CP is probably going to be the winner, biggest thing is wake up at 0500 to be there at around 0800, eat at dirty d's, grab a great parking spot and wait for ERT. Then all day at the park followed by a drive home and be at work on base by 0700...Dunno how I feel about all that KI at least is an hour south so I'd at least get some sleep in haha. But we shall see Also do people do CP trip reports in here or just stick to Pointbuzz lol. Dunno if anyone wants the happenings and know whats over here too
  2. Lol I dunno if I'll spend Sunday there yet, still debating between that or CP, I am leaning towards CP but things can change
  3. Fail Whale But yeh when we worked together on monster/witches wheel, we always had that bet, those were quite fun weeks Went back to corkscrew a few times before dating the current gf, and work got lame. See on platforms where you can talk and have fun with guests in between cycles and whatnot you can do this stuff. On a coaster you see them for a whole two seconds each basically, 45 seconds total train time, and thats it lol. Flat rides are where it's at for picking up people as a ride op
  4. My most embarrasing moment actually ended well. I was working Witches Wheel that week to cover their leadership while they were gone. Anyways this group waiting at the gate for the next cycle talks to me a little bit & whatnot, anyways check and clear the ride, it goes. Well anyways I talked a tad while watching my ride and as I went to spiel when the ride came down I did my corkscrew spiel as it's just so natural to me haha. Anyways they caught me on it and told me it's understandable, they all worked at Kings Island. So I was like oh ok cool. Well noticed this girl in line that was really cute, and me and the other guy on the crew always had a bet if we could get guests numbers, hang out with them, and all that jazz. So I got one of my pre prepared numbers out of my back pocket and after the ride cycled with them on it & I went by to unlock the cars, I tossed her my number, told her I got off at 6 and if she wanted to get last ride of Dragster and see some cool CP stuff to text me and meet up. And that embarassing screwup, half assed number giving is how I'm with my current girlfriend Smooooothe
  5. ^Lmao...nice @homestar92, lol...That is a good combo not ganna lie. Shoulda pulled a cheesy pickup line on her or something
  6. Lol the rides listed are my main rides that I worked a great deal of the season (like my fridays for halloweekends were power tower, ect). I've worked practically everything in Area 2 (corkscrews back to Monster and the other side all the way to frontier trail). The only ride I didn't get a good chance to work was Iron Dragon, but eh, that's fine lol. Also just because I haven't worked them doesn't mean I don't know about operating em...Being an enthusiast I got to ask lots of questions and talk to people at other rides. But anyways I have worked Mantis, and that ride is a joke of a transfer lol. Once transfer mode is enabled on main controls it's literally move track left, right, ect, then from there it jogs and brakes on it's own, then move the track back, done, turn off transfer enable on the main control panel.
  7. Oh where they all come out of the same box...I'll pm ya if you want...but I'm heading to bed...I need sleep for tomorrow...long day at the clinic ahead
  8. All these illusions are pretty easy but I won't spoil them :-) As a kid and young teen I HAD to know how this crap worked...so now magic is somewhat spoiled and lame...stupid youthful me hah
  9. Ugh any lol...its way too easy on any b&m to transfer on or off...only pain to transfer is an occasional intamin, and moving manual arrow trains...b&ms are just a bunch of jogging and move transfers left and right haha
  10. Lol to DontWantToWait42mar0s post looks like things are getting pretty serious hahahahah Every time I see you post that's the first thing that comes to mind lol
  11. While its on my mind btw...queue music, anyone have a clue what this is as well? Been trying to find that out all season so far
  12. Again each ride has a different safety system and policy/procedure...
  13. Walked by a guy once with a shirt that said sit on my face...better not take your kids to the park then, might ask too many questions :-)
  14. That's just DB seats...it even has DB theming on it, probably just had some maint. done to it or needed to be inspected for something...whats so special about a train car?
  15. I think Don has become the new troll...Feeding the coaster hysteria He has to be laughing at this crap by now
  16. ^Lol I think we all would lmao Nice elements, some though could be removed, lots of excess, however still is a zomg coaster..Too bad Vekoma will never be that great
  17. ^Brought this up earlier. I don't think they can like we can. If we're told to go down and go back up one train, we can set gates to close, get the previous riders off of the trains, dispatch empty and transfer off. Then after transfer is complete we can call back up with one/two trains depending on the ride. Transferring trains isn't hard, especially for some coasters like DB...lol a fool could transfer on or off for that ride. Only ride I could see maint. having to come out for is Top Gun (even we can't transfer that train off as it's a tedious transfer), and maybe Vortex being a little bit more intuitive if the PLC is like mine, our brakes are controlled manually so parking it right can be tricky, especially in rain if you're new to transferring off trains.
  18. See Vortex 7-1 for me, 5-1 is alright, but 7-1 gives me more airtime I do agree with the other stuff however. Except I can't agree with racer yet. After riding in 2011, I refused to give it another chance just yet. I didn't know which was worse that year, that or Mean Streak
  19. Youngstud really isn't trolling. I actually don't mind the guy tbh. I kinda see what he's saying but I do slightly disagree. Intamin Giga's are big footprints compared to B&M's giga if thats a possibility. If it's a B&M invert, that footprint isn't anything compared to either of the two. However, it truly still could be anything, but I do see where he's going with it
  20. See to an extent I like themed music, but to an extent I don't. I don't mind coming in and hearing Muse, ect. because it brings out the parks atmosphere of happy go lucky, just have fun go do stuff attitude. I also like that wherever I'm at if I'm walking the music is the same throughout and doesn't clash, also it doesn't fade from one to another. It would be odd to go from "cant read my, can't read my no, he can't read my poker...Ma ma ma ma mad mad mad, I can't get these memories out of my mind." That was one thing that irritated me crossing between gemini/frontier at CP or working that area. That area you heard the pop/typical park music, then country clashing at the same time. It also allows you to enjoy the whole track versus just a snippet as your travel through So I'm split between the two. I like what they did, however some theming would be nice, but eh...dunno. I have no complaints about KI or CP's new music. I'll take this stuff over the 2011 mix they played EVERY day. You could tell the time of day it was based off of the music, and that's lame. Some stuff was good, but it had alot of old crap that honestly wasn't too special. Opening you heard the old lady belt out God Bless America, and then straight into Michael Buble, a track from Sting, and then some pop music I didn't care for lol. My only complaint music wide is some areas it's quiet. Some it's blasting too loud to the point I'm yelling to talk to my gf beside me, and that's a bit irritating
  21. Hopefully to that magnitude too. I don't mind the park being family oriented. But having a few "adults only" kinda venues are very entertaining and satisfying to have imo.
  22. ^if you think this is innapropriate, don't look at videos of him at Knotts then, he's way off the hook then
  23. Yeah the one day I was over there alot during the KIC day, it was jam packed. Other than that I never spend full days in the park, usually my Fri's or whatever after I get off base, so it's not on my to do list
