  1. Hold the vest out, not too hard, allows for an ok ride. I wish I could keep my hands free but oh well. Even with letting the vest press up against me, I really didn't have any issues. Guess body type makes the difference.
  2. HTC EVO LTE & Motorola Xoom mainly, PS3 as well, haven't touched a regular computer at home for awhile
  3. ERT is nice and all, but I want other things for the events that make it "special." I can ride the rides anyday and marathon them on some days, some I cannot, but getting tours, behind the scenes, interviews, ect. that's what makes the events special for me. When I get to have a Q&A with a great entertainer like Ed Alonzo, or get to see behind the scenes maintance stuff and interview one like the last KIC event, that was great. Going in and getting shots of rides or going places never/not normally seen, that's awesome. My favorite event was pointbuzz's first CP off season event. We got a tour of WindSeeker, the front half of the park, dragster station sans trains and covered in snow, all the way under the top hat, and back down through PWX and the jungle under iron dragon. Following this we had a beautiful Q&A with Bryan, Becca (she actually started off pretty good haha, then dropped), PB founders, and then eachother, with a bit of slides/ect. We can ride these rides until we can't anymore everyday out of the season, but show us the stuff we can't see that make it different than every other event. Show us the maint. buildings, or get to talk to them, let us go under flight deck (great photo op wouldn't you think), show us inside backlot (it's not a popular ride but how cool would it be to walk in the building of the final run), ect..As enthusiasts we see, know, and ride rides all the time. Give us the cool stuff to make it worthwhile.
  4. No problem...I like being able to share ride knowledge, I have both the enthusiast side, and the ride op knowledge to go with. Plus I have that, engineering, how does it work, want to know everything mentality, so I'm crammed with this stuff lol
  5. Photo eyes=imagine a laser crossing the tracks path, anything crosses it for a period of time, sensor=tripped Limit switch=little tab the train actually comes into contact with and moves These sense where the train is at certain sections of the track, it's how block systems/brake systems work So if it rains, these sensors get hit/blocked, thinks a train is there, when it isn't. It's a safety issue, especially at the trims before the final return loop. Next time you ride, see how many photo eyes are on those things (at night you'll see a red glow) Now the station, this is one of the few manual rides. The train is stopped by each person in controls manually, IE they have to control the braking (which is why you hear the brakes spaz as it goes into the station, or plays "music" lol, I've heard eye of the tiger, or epic double base drums before). Anyways, manual braking & photo eyes, rain, not a good combo. If it skids past, the trains have to be unlocked manually & that's kind of an evac, or it overshoots, and goes into the next block (transfers, which means if it stops there it has to be winched back to station/lift hill), and then sets up the rest of the ride (as soon as a train hits any brakes, it's ganna get stopped). So weather and gemini don't mix.
  6. I just look this way, DB was the last CF coaster investment @ KI...I think they realize the impact that made, I bet they'll do the same with project 2014. Spend money, make something incredible, and do it right, the park will get the same results. My only question is will this expand off of Action Zone/be a part of it, or would we be possibly looking into a new park area. Banshee/dark/mysterious/brooding theme doesn't really go well with checkered flags, intense thrills, and lots of nifty bright colors, namely from the tower dropping people nextdoor.
  7. The ride has manual station brakes, and photo eye/limit switches only for the PLC, so rain hinders all of these operations.
  8. Yup, not ganna lie I sat on the shi*ter with my cell phone for about 30 min my day as a sweep because it was farking hot...ain't nobody got time for that
  9. Ride stacking/hit interval better with two trains than three, just the typical arrow curse. Also it's a safety issue, with having only photo eyes w/ the PLC & manual station braking, the ride stops in any drop of rain like TTD, with three trains it's harder to unload everyone safely and get the trains all stopped. With two trains the ride can shut down with weather quicker than three train op. Also, gemini is one of the few rides that can not transfer off, if it gets stopped in transfers, it has to be winched back to the station or up 1/3rd of the lift
  10. Well one patient tofay for example. bariatric female w/ c/x of atyp cp, unable to walk or move well, prior smoker copd, ect...basically you could see on her skin during the ekg, and just smell, that no bath or shower had taken place in quite some time... sorry if that grosses anyone out, I see it way too much anymore..
  11. ^quite a few hefty modifications would have been necessary. There are many similarities don't get me wrong, but there are quite a few large differences. I was amazed the day I saw them try it out too. I may even have the pic somewhere because that was going on my year pre season
  12. It's about the same to shut down corkscrew and other rides..at least it's not as touchy as Gemini and ttd...one drop they're out
  13. @Brown...dic* move haha Ffuu..sorry mobile..double post, didn't throw it in with the first post, whatevs
  14. Exactly...working in the hospital...seen it all
  15. 1. I'm sure the first quote on this page didn't know it was oging to go to the next page 2. If you look on this and prev thread. It's quote, quote, quote, quote, ect. Just continue the convo, I'm sure we'll pick up on what's being discussed 3. I find it acceptabe for certain things like quoting a few pages back of if we've passed that subject for awhile, ect. But not to continue a convo 4. Moving on, anything new today or still working on the newest footers?
  16. AH!!! About time. I didn't even think to look through the rest of the Lost OST...ah well. Here I'll post the link so it does work for everyone else
  17. Please figure it out lol...been bugging me all season
  18. Must we quote people we're directly referring to from one post up..
  19. There are some days TTD can have a wait, like I said, take a look and gauge if necessary. If not, don't get it obviously
  20. Lol, one of my friends messaged me today. It's going to be a new vekoma, we're getting a new kiddie area. The ride shall be a pink vekoma childrens invert. Hello Kitty, the ride.. Powerade was lost and almost ejected onto keyboard.
  21. darn, nice afternoon. I figured it probably wouldn't have been packed mid week and that heat. Hell outside running at 1700 with a couple guys in my flight was darn near miserable even hydrating 1L per hour haha.
  22. Gatekeeper & TTD can shut down due to high winds. Dragster will go down with any drop of rain, ect. Gatekeeper can stay up in light rain, and I think a bit more it may be able to transfer off, not sure never been there during a moderate rain, either light, or pis* storm. I'd say it's worth it, but I go when I know the park will be empty/not crowded so I haven't bought it. For those I know that did buy it though, great investment. Don't buy online though, go to the park, judge if it's needed, and then get it. One day we did think about getting it, however Gatekeeper's line was a 20 min wait at max, the last two rides were walk ons at closing so we got 6 rides in one day.
  23. Lol floorless but still in stand up position. I name thee new B&M creation, the crotch rocket. Better hope you don't stack on the brake run
