Kings Dominion 2014

That's pretty cool that they get this back. Hopefully ours is still better haha -
What in this post did I talk about that I stated as a fact. I guessed how operations were on this ride...Guessed... What the hell is your problem, you still aren't contributing anything to this discussion...For your whole people speak don't know quote. It's a forum, the whole idea is to talk. I don't understand how you don't visualize this point. Secondly that quote was mainly used in discussion on KI's 2014 details when practically everything was speculation. Anyways... Again as I've said several times. Several things you put me down on I was right (footer style per manufacturer, arrow operations, park ride operations, and now possibly this), and still you do and say nothing to contribute basically anything to the discussions. I may not know everything, I've admitted to that before. Would I love to know everything, hell yes, I'm wanting to be a doc or an engineer depending on how my AF career goes lol, it's just a part of who I am. Do I have a great bit of operational knowledge about the parks in 2 years of being associated with it, at CP, and a gf who next year is getting a possible promotion and is affiliated with it's operations for three years, and several of her friends and a few of my own, several cp maint ties still, a few area managers there, and a common enthusiast interest in this stuff? The answer is yes. I have knowledge, what I do have I spread, what I don't know I troubleshoot and brainstorm, and figure out the answer when possible. If all you're going to do is just be a negative prick towards myself for basically no reason (I mean what I post is helping us brainstorm and work stuff out that we're interested in), then just gtfo the page and go back to something that I guess suits your I'm better than everyone else mentality. Seriously dude, just..it's pretty pathetic. I mean literally your posts haven't contributed really a darn thing here. If you're all knowledgeable, let it out, until then sit yourself down and just read like a good little boy...

KIC Holiday Party Trip Report
thedevariouseffect replied to thedevariouseffect's topic in Trip Reports
Also for everyone. Pictures of us under the dumping bucket. Kat has these on her FB, I'm going to eventually save them on my facebook as well, hopefully tonight, we shall see, Lindz coming over in one hour, need to look good -
Two questions just because. 1. Why is CP (as in Cedar Point) Rundown at KI 2. When will the video interview be released. Also I'm still wondering if we won't dig a bit out, that ride is right on clearance haha. Great shots, I wish I could have been there to see all that but ah well, I'll get my chance before I go hopefully Also quick edit, lots of wires, proxies, and a few OP panels are already in place, pretty nifty. Also the chain isn't on yet, darn. That's always a cool thing to see happen. Who is doing all the electrical btw? On site electrical controls techs, Adena, or another company. That's alot of wiring to get done, just darn.

The reason CF will not do it is simple: It doesn't bring the park money it wants as an outcome from doing such event. Yes they could do it, IF they get the staffing and the backing to do it. However, the company needs to be paid off making a profit it desires as the outcome. For instance open in November as brought up awhile ago after Halloween & whatnot was done in the past, but it's low attendance and figures prompted that to not happen again. A business will be open if people come in to make it successful. With that not being the case they're not going to do it. There's too many problems and not enough money to do it. Honestly being closed is a good thing. It gives ride much needed maint. It gives time off for people to work regular hours. Full timers worked 80+ hour workweeks during the summer and only a tad less on Halloweekends. Plus this lets the park do new and exciting things. Take this summer for instance we all watched the constuction area like hawks during the season. With no peering eyes everyday, they can be sneaky and bring exciting things to us in the next season. Also in regards to the Haunt stuff, they were taking that down & getting ready to remove it the last weekend of the season, and on the last day were actively doing it. If you looked back in the theater up by Action Zone they had it opened and clear ready to put the haunt stuff in there. They probably acted quick on that like other things as well, it's well orchestrated. I stayed @ CP for two weeks post operations to do cleanup & stuff. The day after just about every coaster car was taken off of the transfer table and ready for off season maint & NDT. They move freaking quick haha

You keep trying to bash my interest and knowledge in this.. Did you also know I tried to work on doing a Bachelors in Mech. Engineering. Or that I am working on my associates here with the AF as we speak... You can keep knocking left and right for lack of better words again just being a prick, but if you look at what I've said above, it does make sense, and I bet will be very similar to the finished product. All we need to do is wait and see. If so I'll come back here in a few months & say I told you so if it is similar in design for blocking... Until I see you post your knowledge here to help us decode and figure stuff out and contribute to discussion, not ridicule myself or others with assinine comments I don't really care what you have to say..

2014 Plans?
thedevariouseffect replied to faeriewench's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Honestly for me and my friends, going wasn't that hard if you have a good sized group. Have four to five people splitting gas/hotel/food costs/ect. It really wasn't that bad. Last Cedar Point trip I did towards the end of the season, I spend 15 in gas for my share, and 10 on the hotel. Food maybe 40, and then that was it. So 65 bucks for a three day CP trip, not a bad deal. -
^Oh no doubt. They could tell us anything about it.. But it's the decoding,a nd the background stuff we look at...Plus me being in prior operations I want to see how this will work. Also I want to see if it works as safely and efficiently as possible Always curious, always wanting to know how it all works, that's the engineering side in me. Btw while you're on this topic have they installed the chain on the lift yet or no?

Watch everyone else go to Kings Island But at the same time...I'll be on a beach soaking up Pacific sun Fair trade I guess

Bb1...here's where I stop you in your place You are the only one who has said anything about my liquor posts..which half of them were in preparation for my holiday party I threw for everyone. Or my occasional drink here and there. When it comes to, and for lack of any better words, your ass were tired of hearing about it. If you noticed people comment against it, and people frequently like the posts telling you to stop I can't force you to...but strongly suggest to... Fyi this irritation was a big topic of discussion amongst us at the holiday party. If it reaches that level of complaint from about 20 or so people. Hopefully the light bulb illuminates If not I'll continue to hit my head against the wall...hemorrhaging
-
Btw adding to the liquor brought up...had a bottle of Sam Adams winter lager...not bad..I prefer Great Lakes Christmas Ale, but not a bad lager
-
Lots of donkey posts then TRFTW fixes things...thanks Also terp..bottle of Watershed Bourbon...6th bottle...come over for a glass if you like I think this may be awhile
-
Dude...just stop...If you haven't seen no one is enjoying this... If enough people keep saying to stop I'd best advise to listen.

No, trim brakes aren't my worry. It's lack of MCBR. Honestly having a MCBR really doesn't have to slow things down or anything. it's just nice to separate the ride block. More blocks means more trains can mutually move. Having one block just for the lift, one from lift crest to first brake means you can't have something in between. Take Diamondback for instance. One trainc can go up the lift and hit crest right after one passes the MCBR, one drops off the lift, and partway into the course the next can be dispatched keeping the lift block occupied, one train moving easily through the brakes and station, and one on the lift/first half of the ride. The MCBR really does nothing more in my perspective on the ride then allow more efficiency. I unlike most people don't think it distracts from the ride experience. if honestly I enjoy them...nice and calm straight, to bam downhill track.
-
I'm thinking that's how it's going to run. See several coasters w/ no MCBR (Millie, the ones listed above, ect.) However. For brakes I believe there is going to be a safety, a trim, a hold brake, pre transfer, transfer table, ready brake, and station. That is the most ideal I can see for blocking and what I can kinda see based off of the slightly not perfect renderings. I don't have shots of the brake run to accuratly see how they will do blocking, but just an educated guess. If it's two speed, they can dispatch at/after interval, and when block clears, next train can drop off of the lift. Ideally you want the previous train to clear the first brake (safety brake) and be in the next block clearing from lift crest-safety brake. This will allow the train on the lift to reach the lift crest and drop off without setting up the blocks. Hitting interval on this may be a slight issue, we will see. Hopefully if this thing runs with the smooth technology and policies like Gatekeeper. Only thing that was nice w/ Gatekeeper is B&M designed that for operations perfectly. After a train drops off of the lift into the first loop, the next train is able to be sent thanks to MCBR and perfect ride timing. So every 45 seconds or so that train can be sent, and it has been done easily. Having three crewmembers per side, easy restraints, lack of most loose articles, an efficient ride PLC, a great computer safety backup, and very well trained operators makes for fantastic efficiency

Didn't know that...I don't read him in the newspapers
