I took this picture at the "graveyard" because it is my married last name (exciting). The translation being roughly: things are not as they seem.

I was the one who mentioned this initially. I was actually unable to find this part of the legend anywhere remotely citable on the internet. This was mentioned because it is part of a story my great grandmother told me about silver combs and "death bringers".

Banshee's may be seen as women with long silver hair who is using a gold or silver comb, and many legends state that destroying the silver comb will destroy the Banshee. Some information: http://omegaprofblog.blogspot.com/2011/08/wail-of-Banshee-for-living-and-dead.html

The silver comb is definitely a nod to Banshee. Interesting.

Have fun and enjoy every minute! It is an experience you are unlikely to forget.

Relax? Is anyone actually freaking out? I think I was the only one to really say I was a bit sad to see Don was just messing with us. I'm certainly not in need of relaxation from said minor disappointment. One other question:"wait" is being thrown around quite a bit ... what actually would you call what we are all doing besides waiting? What is the alternative to waiting because that may be on my menu for other things in life I must wait for?
-
That is my guess. I was a little bit sad when I seen the latest tweet.

As far as I am aware there is no proof one way or another.

This thread has been moving in circles since it started: new decoding, discussion about it, discussion about old discussion, B&M vs Intamin, arguing that there is circular discussion; repeat.

Just one snickers bar? Hmmm... a single snickers will only tide me over for the rest of tonight.. so tomorrow we find out!?! <just joking... laugh now>

I am of the opinion, especially now, that this is almost certainly an invert. The details of which we are unlikely know until it goes vertical. I am extremely curious about the name and theme now. Many of the clues (owl, scarecrow, Steve Miller Band quote from "Fly Like an Eagle") point towards flight/birds. Other clues (bone-chilling screams, Banshee trademark information, the creepy scarecrows, no camping) make me think scary theme. Now there is discussion about possible water features and the blue supports (possibly for KI)... Hmmm.

I'm assuming the posts have been lost in the server transfer as mentioned in Dane's post. -
What ride would you not ride at Kings island.
PhantomTheaterKiss replied to CP&LERR Fan's topic in Kings Island
I will ride anything at least once. I have rode, but will never again, Firehawk. It was deafening, hurt my shins, and just didn't seem fast enough to feel right. I also have not ridden Drop Tower in quite sometime, just doesn't do much for me but I would ride again if someone I was with wanted to. -
^^ I adore the Deftones. Listening to Adrenaline right now actually. (assuming you're a Deftones fan by the picture). Edit: Your, you're, you are .. whatever.

^^ I did! I loved the fact that it has so many flat rides that seem to be relegated to traveling festivals (in my experience anyhow); I Rock-O-Plane'd my brains to mush. Wonderful place!

I love doing things by myself. I am a natural introvert and when my husband joined the military I learned really quickly that amusement parks and dining out are almost more enjoyable alone. The ability to people watch or rest whenever I want is the biggest thing I get out of going to KI (or previously Elitch) alone. Honestly, "lonely" experiences can be empowering.

I found an awesome FB page that has photos of abandoned theme parks all across the world. I find it incredibly fascinating and I have spent far too long already going through the albums. https://www.facebook.com/AbandonedThemeParks/photos_albums Just wanted to share with fellow enthusiasts. Enjoy.

Flight Deck Celebrates 20 Years
PhantomTheaterKiss replied to TheBEASTunchained's topic in Kings Island
Wow.. I wasn't expecting to feel old today. I remember riding Flight Deck the year it opened; I was terrified of the stairs/walkways but loved coasters and theming. Two rides so far this season, hoping to get at least a few more in. 20 great years and counting... -
In two visits this year, I have heard three different explanations of what SOB station is. One 8-9 year old boy told his friends it was The Beast's station, and when further questioned by an inquisitive friend he said "Well The Beast used to be over here but they had to move it because the land made it break". I also have heard "it's where they keep extra Flight Deck pieces" and "it's bathrooms that only open when the others are broken".

Polercoaster
PhantomTheaterKiss replied to secondson's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm sure I would ride this, and likely love it, after some level of razzing from my husband and mother. I can not see the GP wanting to ride this, but if there was any place it would be possible it is Vegas. -
Diamondback does have holding bins. As far as I know FH is the only major ride without bins/place to put your junk. I have no input on lines through the week. Have fun!

I can not stand Firehawk. I had been wanting to ride it for a couple years (after it was put in at KI) and once I moved back to the area it was the first ride I hit up. The lift hill was incredibly loud, the ride didn't seem fast enough, and by the end my shins hurt. May be an unpopular opinion but it's mine and I love it, just like all my other unpopular opinions.

PhantomTheaterKiss replied to MDMC01's topic in Kings Island
This is an odd place for my first post... eh well long time lurker, finally made an account, lurked some more, and here we are. I heard Cake "Going the Distance" this weekend in the que (along with a couple mentioned already).
