KI Throwback Photo of The Day
CharleyTheDinosaur replied to TheBEASTunchained's topic in Kings Island
It's harder for me to believe that people actually stayed behind the yellow line than the fact that the rides didn't have gates. If there were no gates in this day and age, rides would look like a Beijing subway station. -
Just when it looks like maybe they started doing something with the concrete in Action Zone, ice covers the webcam. It's a conspiracy! Good thing I made this new tin foil hat.

"Ouch mommy! My eyes!" "That stinging means it's working, son"
-
I assumed that but I really didn't want to know. Dirt, bugs, and wear I'm ok with. Bodily fluids is when I grab the Purell.
-
Unfortunately sippy cups and little baggies of Cheerios probably won't be allowed on the ride.
-
I have not yet been on a ride that uses these seats and restraints but man those look comfortable.

Mmm new Banshee car smell
-
The Banshee is part of Celtic folklore so... I was worried that with the negative and frankly morbid connotation of the name Banshee they would ignore the story behind them. I figured it would be a cool logo and name but the general theming would be pretty generic. I am pleasantly surprised.

Back on topic. Anyone else get sort of a Celtic church vibe from the station? I have been out of the loop for a while so I don't know if this is actually what they were going for. If this is the case, I love that they aren't being overly politically correct and are embracing the mythology of Banshees.

Help! I need an interpreter for The Interpreter.

And here I go to Google to find out what "jurisprudential" means.

No Loose Articles in the Banshee Station

I'm at the age now where I really don't care what other people think about me. I see a fanny pack in my future. -
My guess is the wait for Fast Lane will be under an hour. I think they'll really try to keep that line down. This would be the perfect time to showcase the benefit of having Fast Lane and would probably get a few more people to consider buying it the next time they visit. I'm really curious as to what the cost will be though. $100?

That picture just looks so 90s. I can practically hear "Hit me baby one more time..." playing. I kinda doubt those guys were listening to Britney Spears at the time but hey it's possible.
-
I have the solution. They should get one of those starting gate station wagons used for harness racing. Those of us willing to wait out the crowds can sit along the sides taking bets on who's going to make it to the queue first.

For me, this ride was the perfect transition from kiddie ride to "grown up" ride. I can remember riding Kings Mills Log Flume and thinking "hey that other one is just like this only taller. I want to give it a try".

Theming we would like to see on Banshee
CharleyTheDinosaur replied to Coasterama's topic in Kings Island
Some trees and a few colored up lights. That's really all I would like to see. I do love the idea of incorporating the scream though. Also maybe adding some simple rock features around the low passes. I just think doing a lot of little touches would probably go unnoticed to the general public and would just be unnecessary maintenance down the road. -
I distinctly remember one time The Beast's line backed up to LaRosa's. It was the first time I ever rode it. I was probably about 8 years old. I decided I was going to ride it that day no matter what. It was a busy day so I had about 2 and a half hours to psych myself into or out of riding it. Luckily, I went through with it.

I'd imagine it was a pain to keep the footprints and Vortex logo looking nice. Lord knows how many people walk on them every day while being exposed to the elements. I always remember them either looking freshly painted or very faded. They were a neat touch but was it worth the up keep? If they could find a more permanent solution I'd loved it if they brought these back.

Don't know if there would still be enough but what about one per car? That way a family or group gets one locker for their essentials. -

I kind of like the idea of adding the cost into the price of an adult ticket or season pass. Maybe that would alleviate the mad dash to the bins after getting off of a ride just a little bit. I hate fighting my way through that to get to the exit. -
Good video but where's the Banshee scream at the beginning. I was a little disappointed it wasn't there. That is one cool scream.

Flight Of Fear holding bins
CharleyTheDinosaur replied to diamonbackandbeastlover's topic in Kings Island
I always get a locker over by FoF if the wife isn't with me to hold my things. The new lockers are fantastic and well worth the money. I'm very paranoid about losing my keys, wallet, or phone when I go on anything. As for inside FoF I thought they had a hold area to the left of the station. Just walk over, put your things in and pray nobody takes them. -
Even when I was really young I remember thinking why does The Vortex station resemble an old creepy house when the logo and everything else about it seemed so futuristic. It made sense when I found out that it was the same station for The Bat.

Most Embarrasing Thing That Happened To You At KI
CharleyTheDinosaur replied to KIMonster14's topic in Kings Island
I remember one time at Winterfest when I was probably 8 years old I went ice skating in a small rink for kids. There was one half of the rink that was just a huge puddle of water either where it had thawed or just never froze over. Of course I fell and slid all the way into the water. I had to go around the park the rest of the night with a very cold wet behind. My mother had no sympathy.
