  1. My dry self-deprecating attempts at humor don't translate well to message boards.
  2. I am very careful with my capitalization and honestly don't think I'll ever be terp'd.
  3. I found it but can't connect to wifi at work and only have 3G here. Guess I'll watch it in an hour when it's done loading. Thanks Sprint.
  4. Ohh a Celtic knot. I think you're on to something
  5. Interesting indeed. Looks like a smaller circle is there now. Action Zone seems like an odd place for a Hidden Mickey
  6. One possibility I haven't seen mentioned is a new arcade or arcade games. I remember reading rumors that Cedar Point's fantastic selection of classic arcade games may be going bye bye. Then again, that was when everyone thought they were getting a new dark ride this year. The arcades at King's Island appear to have less and less traffic every year so maybe they've decided to mix things up a bit by bringing in some classic games. If in the unlikely event this is the 4:00 announcement, I will have to start saving my quarters.
  7. Personally I am hoping for just some halfway comfortable seating and shading to go in that area. In the summer, my wife always looks miserable when she waits on me in Action Zone.
  8. Can we all pitch in to buy the guys painting The Bat a paint sprayer?
  9. Pretty sure I lost a couple years of my life waiting for my wife and nephew to get off of the Scambler last year.
  10. I was just thinking the other day that if Action Zone does get a spooky retheming, a new version of Phantom Theater would be perfect there. A nice air conditioned family ride is just what that section of the park needs. I'm still bitter that Phantom Theater replaced the Smurfs though.
  11. My mother is a Morehead State alum also. Class of '75 I believe.
  12. Geez. How slow was the internet back then?
  13. Also, Vortex doesn't have a giant globe floating in the middle of one of its loops.
  14. Seems fitting that a topic about a chain being replaced starts off with a broken link.
  15. Monkeys. We need a show with monkeys. I would watch that every time I go. Seriously, who doesn't like monkeys?
  16. Apparently, I was very excited to see Snagglepuss. I think I frightened that blond child with my enthusiasm.
  17. Thanks. I went a good 20 years without going into Planet Snoopy/Nickelodeon Universe/Hanna Barbara Land. I just did a search for them and had no idea those things were around as recently as they were.
  18. I loved these handcars as a kid. I believe they were where Snoopy's Junction is now. Anybody remember what they were called?
  19. It's that sense of "almost there" that gets them. I had the same thing happen to me on my 21st birthday. We made it back onto my street and I felt a sense of relief. 10 seconds later I was giving the side of the car a new paint job. Anyway, I'd hate to be that first person to throw up on one of Banshee's nice new cars. That guilt would never leave me.
  20. With all the attention Banshee is getting I'm kind of hoping the souvenir cup is orange with The Bat logo.
  21. The King Cobra was white? Since that photo was taken in December 1983 (probably during Winterfest), I imagine that was a display advertising the new coaster for 1984 and not an actual part of the completed coaster itself. I never thought about that. The idea of a stand up coaster back then was still unusual enough that they probably would have shown off the train with some sort of display like that. Good call.
  22. I was wondering about that too. There is a little bit of brown in the bottom right though so maybe it was frosted over. I really don't know why the track is that color. Someone on here will know I'm sure
  23. My brothers and I standing in front of King Cobra before it opened. I'm in the stroller and I do not look impressed.
  24. Very cool idea. I'm not a fan of spicy food though. Any chance I could get some Woodstock Express BBQ sauce?
