Skycoaster has been completed in its new location next to the WindSeeker and NightHawk.

So...still no official announcement on moving the Skycoaster, but it appears that they have drained the pond next to NightHawk and are preparing to reinstall it there... Also, on Screamscape today: Stats still seem a bit off; I don't know why it would be only 295 feet tall and shorter than the 232' Intimidator.

Not really relating to Carowinds, but the Plaza Fiesta strip mall next to Carowinds will be torn down to build a Cabela's store. Also, it appears that they are making good progress in moving the Skycoaster.

That is just too tall. Mer, who is normally not scared of any type of ride, but would wet his pants and scream like a little girl if he rode any Drop Tower taller than about 200'.

Sorry guys...I voted for Carowinds Connection... I'm so biased...

WindSeeker? I think beauty is only thing going for it. No, I meant the Skycoaster.

UPDATE: It appears that the Skycoaster has been taken down, and is being moved to fill in a large part of a perfectly good pond that is one of the only (manmade) natural areas left in the park. But this new location is also VERY close to WindSeeker... No one really rides the darn thing anyway, I don't see why they don't just take it out completely. It's not the prettiest thing either.

We had a discussion about this article on CC...Almost everyone agrees that the reporter knows nothing about roller coasters. Meanwhile, the sky coaster is being removed and (probably) rebuilt next to the NightHawk.

Uhh...it was already announced. A lot of people on Carowinds Connection thought it was a great name when I broke the news to them.

I'm glad I didn't go this year (I live in Raleigh)...that looks like something I would have ridden!

Must hit rides: Imtimidator Afterburn Nighthawk (expect nightmarishly long wait times for this one) And the eagles are called the Woodstock Gliders.

Why is that classified as a roller coaster?

To edit a famous quote, "Don't judge a roller coaster by it's designer."

According to one article, it will be 310+ ft and only go 65 MPH. That article also made it seem like we were getting a wing coaster, but that article doesn't seem very trustworthy.

This past month has been suprise after surprise for me! First, the $50 mil expansion Then the water slides And now the giga! And everyone over on Carowinds Connection refused to beleive that we would get a giga until now. Except me of course.

It is semi-confirmed.

And it is basically confirmed that a new $30,000,000 coaster will be added, as well as a new slide and restrurant complex. Yup, that's more expensive than Banshee was.

I'll probably renew my Carowinds gold pass. Prices are crazy though. $81 already.
