Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

Just Don being Don. Seems to be a good way to help get the ridership up. See also The Racer last August. -
Kings Island Band Organ Work 2016 (Updated 7/14/16)

Sounds very nice. Got to hear "Beer Barrel Polka." First time I've ever heard the organ play something from the Come to the Fair album. Can't wait to hear it when it's completed. -
Kings Island Band Organ Work 2016 (Updated 7/14/16)

Nice to know it's getting updated and fixed. I passed it last Friday, and it was playing, at a slower pace, "My Uncle Sammy's Gals" from roll 6547. Glad to know the rolls are getting changed out each season. Can't wait to visit the park and hear the chiming bells and the snare again. -

What about Valleyfair? They're the only Cedar Fair park with no B&M. Aren't they due for their first? -

If the folks over at Great Coasters International do end up building a woody in Rivertown, what would happen to the popularity of the two existing woodies at the park? That question always pops in my head when the possibility of a GCI coming our way arises. -

I honestly don't think this is going to be a giga coaster, if a coaster at all. Why put a large airtime filled B&M next to another large B&M hyper (assuming they work with them to build a giga). Though as many have mentioned, it's too early to tell what is going on back there. However it isn't too late to assume it's a coaster either. Carowinds didn't start pouring footings for Fury 325 until around if I remember correctly, and Cedar Point didn't start pouring Valravn's footings until September. -

Judging by what everyone has seen so far, perhaps a coastervis headed out way. It feels a bit early to be getting one, since we recently just got Banshee, but Cedar Point only got Gatekeeper in '13, and have just now released Valravn, so anything is possible at this point. -

Perhaps the "watch for calling trees" is a teaser for a new Haunt called "Deforestation." Zombie lumberjacks, perhaps? -
Rock work sign at new parking lot entrance?
BlondyRidesOn replied to Skyrider's topic in Kings Island
There was some work going on when I passed it on my way to dry run day at the park. -
How long is the park open on Friday for preview night?
-
Any entrance upgrade is okay in my book, just as long as the International Street buildings don't lose their European façades and the Eiffel Tower and Royal Fountain remain in place.

I'm a little worried that the rides in Coney Mall may lose their uniqueness if adding a similar light package as Shake Rattle & Roll becomes a trend. Not saying it's bad, but they all have their own identity at night. I do like the new paint on Scrambler, though. Edit- Worded better.

Didn't there used to be a sports shop on I Street in the Italian Building back in the eighties? As well as a Homemade Brand United Dairy Farmers stand?
-
Regarding the new funnel cake stand, it looks to have a lot cabin look to it, which sorta ties in with the frontier town 1800s era Cincinnati theme. Is it possible that the park is acknowledging the original theming a bit more?

The Myrtle Beach Pavilion Galaxi coaster was at Kings Dominion, which is where that accident took place.

I sort of have a bit of a conundrum. I had to create a user account on jobs.cedarfair, but have forgotten the log in info from when I applied in Janurary, so I'm unable to go through the job position acceptance process online. What should I do? Blondy, living up to his name.

That picture actually looks to be Kings Island in 1972. The International Restaurant was added on top of the entrance building for the 1973 season, however it cannot be seen in the photo. It's an outstanding photograph, as it displays how much the park has changed over 44 years.

The Racer- Bunny hop hills, small splashes of ejector airtime. The Beast- The helix with all of its force. Tornado at Strickers Grove- The sudden floater airtime drop that almost catches you by surprise.

I have an interview today. Should I wear something nice or something casual?
-
"Rose" by James Horner from Titanic; it helped give International Street beauty and charm, in my opinion. But that was long ago...

Which Kings Island Roller Coaster Are You?

Great Pumpkin Coaster -
I applied for a summer job back in January and they said interviews would be in February but I have yet to get a notification. Should I attend the next jobs fair?
-
Thanks! Forgot about that thread.

I have a question regarding applying to work at the park. I applied back in January and haven't received any notification as to when they want to interview me for a summer job. Not concerned, just curious.

I'm not sure of we are getting a coaster in 2017, but it seems unlikely. We just got Banshee in 2014 and other parks, like Kings Dominion for example, are long overdue for a coaster (Last coaster KD got was Intimidator 305 in 2010. Canada's Wonderland got Leviathan in 2012). I would love a new coaster in Rivertown, however it seems unlikely and would probably cost us the train as well as the shady trees in order to build it.
