  1. I heard "Fifty Ways to say Goodbye" by Train while working in Sweet Spot today. It has a Mariachi sound, which fits International Street a bit.
  2. I always tend to watch my language around guests wheever I work.
  3. I don't see how this would require removing the log flume. It's still pretty popular. I feel like a major coaster that close to Planet Snoopy would look out of place. I feel that way about Diamondback as well.
  4. Perhaps the 2017 project is a revitalization of the train possibly even Rivertown. Maybe a restoration of some theming (Hopefully not Boneville like at Cedar Point). Just judging by what everyone is saying about it not looking anything like the site of a new coaster.
  5. I tried putting my Beast model together, but one of the pieces wouldn't fit in the slot, even though the others fit snuggly. It was closer to the center of the piece and it was just a millimeter from fitting right into the slot. Are there any suggestions?
  6. And the possibility of Drop Tower closing made me think of Space Spiral's demise at Cedar Point. How much downtime has Drop Tower (INTAMIN Gyro Drop which is still in production) been getting, in relation to Space Spiral (Von Roll observation tower by Willy Buhler's Space Tower Company, both defunct)? Not saying it will happen, but depending on downtime and mechanical issues anything can happen in the future.
  7. On my way to Cornerstone for my break, they were playing the ending musical number from Shrek in Planet Snoopy, coupled with laughing Donkey (Eddie Murphy). Are there any songs from the Peanuts cartoons that would thematically fit the background music there?
  8. Kings Dominion also plays "Aquarium" from Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint Säens. Possibilities of classical music could be Sabre Dance by Khachutarian, Hoedown by Copland, I'd even be alright with the Sleeping Beauty Waltz by Tchaikovsky or Hungarian Dance No. 5 by Johannes Brahms.
  9. I work in the Merchandise department. I thought to myself that I should get one of my own whenever I'm a guest.
  10. Nothing really. It just needs a bit of love.
  11. Repainting and restoring The Racer would be the top of my list. I think Thunderhawk at Dorney, which just got a bit of restoration done this year, was also painted with lead based paint, so it can be safely done from what we've seen. A Grear Coasters International retrack would really help the ride immensly. Are there any wooden coaster manufacturers that allow their trains running backward? Because that would increase the ride's already large popularity extremely. If RFYLCB is staying, I'd honestly prefer if they annexed it back into Rivertown where it belongs. I feel it would help bring back the area's theming a little more.
  12. Are the bells/chimes that play along with the pipes working again? They worked off and on last year.
  13. Thanks for the update! Can't wait to hear it play again during my next visit.
  14. I found this old TV advert for Fantasy Farm a while back. It's kind of creepy knowing that it's basically just an empty lot with old LeSourdsville rides sitting there in storage.
  15. If I should say so myself, the floral clock looks much like it did in the 70's and 80's with that concrete in the center, which I believe were initially stones back in the day.
  16. My mom's friend worked there in the 80s, and she gave me a whole box full of old Kings Island tickets and tokens. Its really cool.
  17. I work in Merchandising at the park and one of the guests told me that the park should consider removing Vortex because of its rough and jerky ride experience. Though it's nice to know it is noticeably better. Edit- Made it to not sound too specific as to where I work.
  18. I'm not sure I understand this logic. That's like saying last summer: I don't think Valravn is going to go where it's rumored because that's too close to Rougarou. Well, I guess that's true. I'm just a tad bit skeptical because both Diamonback and a giga would be so tall next to each other and the skyline might look uneven. Rougarou and Valravn are two different ride experiences, so that's probably why they are so close to one another.
  19. I honestly don't think this will be a giga, only because it's really close to Diamondback. If it were replacing Dinosaurs Alive or if it was around the X Base area, then it has a greater likelihood of being one. Also, has it been confirmed that Race For your Life Charlie Brown is leaving, or is it still on the rumor board?
  20. Wow, I totally never knew that that was the song that was playing! I thought it was an original song all this time. You learn something new every day around these parts... Going back to the Adventure Express discussion, the final tunnel music is around :44 seconds into the piece. I decided to share this in case anyone was curious.https://youtu.be/S7ac8qtskAg (All rights go to the talented John Williams)
  21. A petition probably won't work. Most people don't look at petitions.
  22. I noticed that the Temple God from Adventure Express was working again. "You have disturbed the forbidden temple. Now you will pay!" Couldn't tell if the background music ("Belly of the Steel Beast" from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade by John Williams) was playing, but it's nice that the effects are improving.
  23. I was in Rivertown on Friday and noticed a worker from the antique photo shop standing out on the midway wearing a 19th century era costume, which fits the frontier town theme, as well as the western tavern look to the new funnel cake stand. But music is key of course. I would love to hear some bluegrass music along with some old country music over the loud speakers in that area. White Water Canyon would provide a cool experience if it featured "Dueling Banjos" from Deliverance in the background, but that's just my opinion. International Street is also easier than it seems. The background track could be improved with some awesome tracks like on Kings Dominion's International Street ("Main Title/The Winton Flyer" from The Reivers by John Williams, "Gabriel's Oboe" from The Mission by Ennio Morricone, etc.) as well as the music many remember from the past ("Sabre Dance" by Aram Khachutarian, "Hoedown" by Aaron Copland, "A Summer Place" by Percy Faith, "Pirates" from The Pagemaster by James Horner). Some Broadway tunes could also work, especially music from West Side Story like "I Feel Pretty" and "America." Shops can be decked out with flags from the countries which the architecture is meant to represent. Fixing the Festhaus Glockenspiel and getting a new clock would be a step up for Oktoberfest. A couple of flat rides with German/Bavarian themed names could spruce it up a bit. Any kind of hot dog/sausage stand could work, since hot dogs, bratts and Metra are common midway foods. The area outside of the Festhaus could feature music similar to what they play at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in their German Sections. Of course, theming updates all have to do with what competing parks do. If Holiday World extends their theming further, or if Kentucky Kingdom gets increasingly popular, then the idea of theming could be implemented. But as of now, it seems like Cedar Fair is keeping Kings Island going toward the major amusement park direction, rather than theme park.
  24. The Beast is obviously a legendary landmark in the Warren County area, so there'd be negative backlash from the public. The ride clocks very good ridership as well. The Racer is also a landmark coaster in the Warren County area. It is also painted with lead based paint, which would cause an issue unless the paint is replaced/the coaster is repainted. The coaster clocks in good ridership as well (the high capacity gives it shorter lines, creating the illusion it is unpopular). It clocked in more riders than The Beast last season, according to ride counts by the park. Hurler would make a cool RMC coaster, though.
