Anyone think The Bat references could be kind of a historical comparison? The Bat was a failed design whose site that Vortex, a world breaking coaster, grew out of. Now we again have a failed coaster's site that is sprouting a world record coaster. Doubtful that is the intention, but it is interesting nonetheless.

For this to be the tallest, it will have to have a 45 degree or steeper lift hill which I don't think they've ever done on an invert. There is only so much room between the base of the lift footers and the triangle ones where the lift will top out.
-
The reason I went with zero G is that the track reference lines on the plans go straight, where with a corkscrew they should offset. Doesn't mean its right. Not sure how accurate the drawings are intended to be.

Speed? possibly. Inversions? doubt it. I only seen 6 inversions on the blueprints. I'm definitely seeing 7 on the blueprints. In order: Dive Loop Loop around lift Zero G Dive Loop Immelman Loop and another zero G between the two "helixes" Its possible that one or both of those helixes would be an inclined loop, but its really too hard to tell from the plans. So 7 for sure, possibly 9. For some reason, I think it'll be 8 since its a world record "breaking" and not just a world record.

They will need a virgin for the sacrifice....LOL Actually laughed out loud on that one

Yeah universal Orlando has been harassing members of local boards for taking pics of the new Harry potter expansion. They've banned one member from the property and have had security question and follow people in the park with high end camera equipment. They could learn a lot about PR from don and KI.
-
They are going to sacrifice kic members at the announcement!
-
If they are doing backstory, maybe this Banshee is the mother of the Son of Beast and she is here to have her revenge on those who killed her child!
-
Well before they built Diamondback, the back of the park has Vortex, Beast, BLSC, Racer. Did that mean Diamondback had to be a below the track coaster since the others were above? No

Some reason I keep thinking it's steel works. But at least you knew what I was talking about. lol

I'd like to see 9, but I think 8 is probably the most we can hope for. I do think we will see a loop right off the drop followed by the dive loop. There should be plenty or room for one there. If they are going to for a lot of inversions, they will need to start them early.
-
I can't see CSW playing PR games. If this was at KI and they had some old track laying around, i could see it, but not at a steel fab shop. But if you look at the talon transfer track posted earlier, you can pick out the piece you took a picture of. Combine that with the data sticker on the blue pieces on the flatbed at CSW being for an invert, and its pretty sure the pieces you saw were for the same invert.
-
You think 9 inversions is likely?
-
Based on where that piece falls on the other inverts I can find pictures of, I'd have to agree that the track is blue. That doesn't mean it will be, just what few transfer track pics I can find tend to match the track color.
-
The triangle footer doesn't mean anything. There is one on Behemoth where two pieces of track come close to each other and they use the same footer to brace both pieces. No special element. The ones on KI 2014 are probably just where the turnaround at the top of the lift hill is. Its easier to pour a single footer for 3 supports instead of three separate.

I just can't see them doing double lifts. I think we'd see 8 inversions long before we saw the additional cost and maintenance of a second lift. If this thing was going to be a mile long I could see it, but based on what we are seeing I could only see the 2nd lift as a way to get the train out of the valley and back up to the station. If they use two lifts as the world record breaking aspect and the second lift is just to pull it into the station I think it's a cop out. Now if they made it longer and a second lift replaced the mcbr and could lead to 4 train operation, I could see some practicality to it. But even then, I can't see that being green lit by Cedar Fair.

Now we get a week of people who haven't read anything in this thread coming on and predicting strata coasters and wing riders! Oh and intamins. :-x

Who wants to bet that they will be announcing the worlds largest chicken dance!

I really think a B&M inverted is the right coaster for the park right now. Or at least a B&M multilooper of some sort. They need another reliable people eater, and I'm in the camp that thinks The Vortex won't be around too many more years. An invert is a flashy looking ride that the general public will be drawn to, so it works on many levels. If they can push it to 7 or 8 inversions, they get more publicity and can claim records to drive pass and ticket sales. If not, its still a coaster that will do what its supposed to do for many years. That being said, I'd trade most of the rides in the park if we could have dragster. lol
-
Can we go back to the intamin vs B&M debate? zzzz

Rides aren't linked directly off of the root directory, they are all in subdirectories like: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/rides/Thrill-Rides-12-14-11-44/The-Beast

@KingsIslandPR: Apples, other fruits and salads are available at the KI Marketplace at the entrance to Coney Mall. http://twitpic.com/d5k2ky ZOMG the new coaster is going to be apple themed and go all the way into coney mall!!!11!!1one!!eleven!!11!!

Like this you say: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27275-starting-to-decode-2014/page-222#entry530800 ;-) Yes .. Only I used a Dive loop. ;pI was aware someone had made the prediction. I just haven't seen enough footings to "support" it till now. IMHO Yeah, I said it's more likely a dive loop and the pic is of a dive loop. lol But it's good to see more people coming to the same conclusions.
