  1. Yeah it's raining there now, and they have a piece of track in the air on the small crane. I'm kinda wondering if they are going to put in the track for the bottom part of the dive loop and rollout to the start of the lift loop before they top off the dive loop. Makes sense actually, that way the upper track isn't in the way when they are setting the lower track.
  2. A couple might be tough, but the dive loop is definitely a good possibility. Looks like they have one support up already and are building a second on the ground right now.
  3. They are rolling along today. Another piece of track in the air and I'd expect to see another support and piece of track up by the end of the day.
  4. Looks like they put another support up coming out of the first drop.
  5. Well, it is a two month old thread...
  6. I liked the old Top Gun carrier theming. Granted it wasn't disney level or anything, but it was still better than what you see on just about every other coaster.
  7. Looks like there is another support laying on the ground ready to go up, but it doesn't look like they are working on that right now.
  8. ^ that is exciting! What is the distance from the ground to the track there? And as a follow up, what will the clearance be from the ride vehicle to the ground? It will be enough. O.o

  10. Well the question was to ever operate. Not currently operating. Not that I know what the answer is....
  11. I don't necessarily think thats true. They set up the supports for the bottom of the first drop, but didn't hang the track on it till last week. And actually one of those supports still doesn't have its track attached. I think these short supports they are doing are rather stable free standing, so they can put them up and get them out of the way. This makes room for more supports and track to be delivered. Or they know we are watching the webcam religiously and want to make it look they are accomplishing something while the unspectacular lift work continues.
  12. looks like they are going to set up another support this afternoon. Last one before the loop.
  13. They have set up another of the short supports.
  14. I figure it'll be a few more days till we see any more webcam visible progress. They need to put the handrails on the lift steps, plus there is probably other less visible work to be done to them. Combine that with a lack of supports and track in the dive loop area and I expect a few boring days for us stalkers. lol
  15. I vaguely remember them auctioning the first ride on Diamondback off for charity. I'd assume Banshee will be the same.
  16. As a follow up from earlier, it looks like the yellow crane is gone.
  17. They will need to keep either clifford or that yellow crane on site pretty much the whole way. With clifford's having farther reach and the back half of the ride going down hill, I'd say we will see it there all the way to the end.
  18. They may be done with the drop today at the rate they are going. As to the supports out back, those have to be for later in the ride. If they were for the dive loop, they would stage them closer. There might be a few truckloads of supports sitting at CSF though, so it might not be a big deal.
  19. More of the drop going in. I think they will definitely be through the drop this week. They are running out of supports though, so after that, they are going to be waiting on materials.
  20. Looks like they are about to set the first piece of drop track.
  21. Your link broke because the boards don't like parentheses in URLs. Those have to be percent-encoded. Here's the fixed link: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/uploads/file/img_track_layout_lg_final%281%29.jpg That'll teach me to try to post on my phone. lol
  22. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/uploads/file/img_track_layout_lg_final(1).jpg Use this as a reference. You can see where the pieces will meet. Looks like two pieces of track to hang to tie the new support in.
  23. Are you sure that the cords you are seeing aren't the ones used by workers on the ground the stabilize the pieces as they are being lifted? Generally when you lift something of any size, you tie a rope of some type to it, so you can keep it from spinning, getting blown by the wind, etc, while its in the air. Since there is nothing overtop of these things that is stationary, there would be nothing to tie it off to anyway. The yellow crane has been up since yesterday overtop the last column of this support. It just set it in place a few minutes ago.
