And indeed, the first support is going up!
-
A thread that goes on for months will get off topic from time to time. You can only play by play the webcam on here so much.
-
That sounds about right considering a lot of people think Vortex is rough. Hopefully we put a Floorless in.I think that the next coaster will be an intamin giga. So if ki were to put in an intamin giga, where could that go? At a Six Flags? I just don't see them building an Intamin anything for a while. A B&M Giga is a possibility. I think it comes down to either a B&M giga somewhere between Action Zone and xbase, A multi-looper(floorless, wing or regular sit down) replacing Vortex, or I could see a newer generation wood coaster between x base and Action Zone.

This piece doesn't tie into the next support. They would have to build the last support tower and install the top piece of lift track to tie it into the support. Not to say they won't do all that today. They do work late into the evening and they aren't going to want to keep that yellow crane on site longer than needed. But that would be a lot of work to complete before dark.
-
Looks like they are picking up the last straight pies of the lift hill. We should have a pretty close look at how tall this thing is going to be today.
-
I think that yellow crane is just a taller crane that the one that has been on site since the beginning. The original crane is going to be too short to do any more of the lift. So that yellow one will be there long enough to help Clifford finish the lift out then it'll be gone. Where its sitting now should be where it does the pick for the lower part of the next piece of lift hill track.

Looks like they are building the tallest lift hill support!

o.O You know the park is closed today right?
-
Looks like they are putting the walkway that goes up the lift in. Kind of odd that they would start on that before the lift is done if that is indeed what they are doing.
-
It appears that a bird or maybe a bug has decided to interfere with our construction stalking.
-
Well you got that part right. :-x

Seeing that they are working on the bottom of the drop, I'm wondering if they will run from there through the dive loop and back to the lift loop so they can still use Clifford. If that's the case I'd think they'd leave the top of the loop off to make the lift track installation easier. After that its finish the lift, top off the loop and start working their way towards the back end of the ride.
-
Yeah, its hard to tell from the cam, but it looks like they have the lift motor track in place now.
-
The last time I rode The Racer, it was backwards. I avoid it now out of protest. lol

Looks like they are decking out the brake run today. I'm guessing they will have to put rails up around it after that. After that, Idk what else they have to assemble in the transfer area, but I am starting to assume they will finish all of that before they start to get into the rest of the supports and track.
-
I assumed it was when they went to scannable tickets, it made it that both regular tickets and passes could go through the same turnstiles. Which, in turn, removed the need for a second entrance for passholders and employees to man that entrance. Of course, it happened in a period of time when I wasn't hitting the park much, so my timing could be off.

Has there been anything saying slingshot was leaving? Just asking, because there was some speculation for it leaving because it didn't make it into the ride renderings. When I was looking at the webcam earlier compared to the renderings I thought that it was in the way of Banshee's first drop. Those discussions also pointed out that AE wasn't in the renderings and beast wasn't in the Diamondback renderings either. They are currently storing track between the lift hill footers and slingshot, so I don't think there will be any interference.
-
If they work that direction, they couldn't do any of the queue work until nearly the whole coaster was built. Same goes for the mechanicals and wiring for the lift hill. It's not worth holding up all of that just to keep from having to move some equipment a little farther.

I'm pretty sure you're correct. They will most likely work from the midway back to the valley, constructing the drop to through the diving loop. then constructing the hill to the loop around it, then the loop, then the rest of the lift hill. They wont want to lift parts over already constructed parts...too much room for error and damage. Yeah, looking at where they have Clifford sitting, I'm thinking they will be building the dive loop next. Makes sense as after they build the lift, they won't have easy access to that area.
-
Looks like they will have the brake run done by the end of today. I'd assume they'd start doing lift hill supports after that, but I'm not seeing any track that looks like lift hill track on site. Idk that they'd start putting those supports up without the track, so we may be getting ready to see a slowdown on track/support construction. Could be that they have it planned this way so they can start building the station.

As I-70 is like 50 miles away, no. ;-) As for I-71. Absolutely
-
^ I'd say theres a good chance. The turn pieces are laying there already and I suspect those two pieces laying off by themselves where the top of the lift will be are probably the first two for the bottom of the lift. I'd say by labor day, we should see everything from the base of the lift to the station track and transfer track installed.

It looks like they have started on the lift hill supports!!

<--- Hopes the OP isn't seeing the mirrored wall and thinking it's another line. :-X
