  1. Canada’s Wonderland added back to back coasters after their attendance dipped due to the Coronavirus of 2002-04.
  2. The “me first” mentality of our society would have prevented social distancing from being effective. Don’t blame the park for the delays on opening day. Blame it on those who did not follow the procedures set up by the park of arriving at the preselected time. @coaster sally, I’m sorry you had a bad experience, but there’s no need to take it out on park management. Very few things changed since opening days, which indicates the park had a solid plan for reopening.
  3. @coaster sally, the fact of the matter is opening the lot at 10:30 was a smart move. Had they opened up the lots any earlier, people would have congregated outside the main entrance, creating a situation ripe for spreading the virus. Attacking one character because you can’t ride a $30 million dollar ride at night, in the year of the pandemic, is extremely selfish and dumb. Posts like what you’ve just typed out is why enthusiasts get a bad rap.
  4. Or it could be two projects. They could be expanding the waterpark entrance plaza?
  5. I’m curious what’s going on with the Action Zone portion of the site that extends into the parking lot.
  6. So, my question is, how large could the new entryway be? Will it be like Worlds of Fun, or have something like Cedar Point?
  7. I have no idea what they mean, as they are case specific. The interesting thing is they are in sequence, and if they’re related to runoff- there wasn’t any work by The Bat’s creek. The 2 may refer to 2 feet off of marker.
  8. Not only that, it looks like they are still adding to it. They wrote the identifying markers for each stake today.
  9. Here’s a picture of an spray indicating excavation in the Preferred Parking lot. Before this gets ridiculed, I’ve done surveying and markings in the past, and the sprays beside it were similar to what I did in construction. That being said, the site runs along the outlined map I’ve made.
  10. There’s more markers, and it extends into parking lot.
  11. We’re talking about Kings Island, not Geauga Lake. KI is the stalwart of the Cedar Fair chain.
  12. I feel the most innovative part were the Gen III trains. They doubled the number of wheels and redesigned the restraint.
  13. However CP got 2 $20 million plus additions over the course of two years. I’m not saying it’s a coaster, but don’t rule out anything with CF. Plus, this park is one of the 4 that makes up the majority of the CF profit. With the park losing a signature coaster in Vortex, it is likely the park is looking for a way to theoretically replace it.
  14. Stakes with markers, spray paint, and flags pinned to ground.
  15. Back to the markers, are there any on the other side of the entry plaza?
  16. The road’s removal is marked along with markings for utility work. If you plot them out on a map, it’s pretty telling.
  17. Yes, there are markers indicating the removal of the road.
  18. Or there are more markers telling a much bigger picture.
  19. I’ll put it this way, does it look like a ride will be removed? Yes.
  20. I would recommend delaying it until next year. People are flying in around the country, and with an ongoing pandemic, it’s not the time to be part of crowded events.
  21. On every register at food locations in the park they now list it as a 2 year deal.
