On every register at food locations in the park they now list it as a 2 year deal.

I’ve tried it, and in my opinion, it’s out of this world. The powdered sugar they put in it really pushes it to the next level!

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
gforce1994 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I think when we are looking at future attractions one has to look at the variables. 1. The attraction needs to be tall, and a weenie of the area. Vortex dominated the skyline, and provided the needed backdrop when looking straight at the tower. It is needed to ensure that people see it on I71 and pull over to visit the park. Copperhead Strike is only 82 feet tall (the ride would easily blend in Mystic, Beast, Diamondback and not be seen). 2. The park has a small ravine that can easily be used to break records. Let’s say the park installs a 225 foot tall dive coaster-they could easily create a drop that could approach 250 feet. 3. The ride has to be a high capacity thrill ride. Vortex had a cap of 1600 people per hour (more likely around 1200 considering day to day operations). Copperhead Strike and Maverick have capacities around 1200. However, Valravn has a capacity of 1200 and Yukon Striker has one of 1329. Having been to CP and seeing how efficient they are running Valravn, I feel like it is fair to assume that KI could easily approach 1200 riders per hour. 4. The ride has to provide decent value for the cost. Copperhead Strike cost $26 million dollars. Manta(SD) cost between $35 and $50 million. Time Traveler cost $26 million. Valravn cost between $20 and $25 million, while Yukon cost $25 million. With KI being situated so close to the factory where B&M track is produced, it is fair to assume that if a Yukon clone were plopped directly into KI, it would be cheaper due to negligible shipping costs. 5. Uniqueness and marketability: this is critical. A ride like Vortex can not be replaced easily. The thing is the rumored replacements all have their pitfalls: Raptor-KK is getting one in 2021, Wing Coaster- HW has “the best one” in the eyes of many, Intamin Blitz- would be compared to Maverick, and Dive Coaster-Valravn in CP. Out of all those options, I think the park could have more to work with if they went with a Dive Coaster. -
It’s fine to complain when it’s something easily fixable and one knows what they are talking about. It isn’t fine to complain when one has limited expertise in the field and they are complaining just because they don’t like how it looks.

Just tried the Nebula Chill, and it is amazing. More particulars to follow, but it is better than the smurf cone.

Alton Towers is not a viable comparison here. -

Yes, but if a 5 million dollar ride requires 10 million worth of alterations to the surrounding area, is it worth the cost? -

Yeah, and they went through a lot to build it. -

They can’t just build in Action Zone, the soil is weak in sections. Project costs would skyrocket due to deeper than normal piers for the foundation. Regards to Vortex site, the ride that needs to go in there is the largest available ride, not the ride that best suits the KI coaster collection. -
The lack of respect enthusiasts have for the park is disgusting. KI has done an excellent thing with shooting an amazing 4K cinematic series, and enthusiasts complain about it. If somebody thinks there is something wrong with the quality of the shot film, I would absolutely love to see your attempt, because it would pale in comparison to what KI puts out.

The pieces that still exists are only bolts.

There are pieces of the ride that still exist (outside of two track pieces). The rest has likely been melted down

I agree. However, many would protest. Disney viewed this as a major loophole, especially during the Food and Wine festival, and fixed this.
-
I think the Disney route is the best route to go for all parks. People who walk around with empty cups and masks off are troublemakers imo, and by fixing the loophole, will force them into compliance

The footers on the site have already been removed. They’re currently excavating in the middle of the site. -

These projects tend to take awhile. However, the interesting thing is, they’re still digging and grading the site. It isn’t being dealt in the same manner KD dealt with Volcano Site or DP with Stinger. -

There’s definitely something going on at CP and KI, imo. Considering the ability of the parks to sell platinum passes, the addition of two signature rides at KI and CP in the same year would do wonders. It’s interesting to note, since The Vortex removal, the crews are still grading the land and excavating-even when all the footers have been removed. -

Or it could still be in the works, and they’re only refining it more.
