  1. ^^I was actually just about to link to that video. I'm amazed by how much Nickelodeon nostalgia remains inside the building. I understand that Blue Man Group doesn't need the entire building, but it still caught me off guard that they didn't bother to strip any of the old cartoons from the wall or replace everything with a more modern interior.
  2. ^I agree, especially given the fact that a dark ride in the style of Guardian of Wonder Mountain or Justice League has a minimum height requirement. Boo Blasters is a phenomenal family attraction in the fact there is no minimum height requirement and guests of all ages can enjoy. That being said, I wouldn't mind if parts were slightly updated or upkept better. The ending scenes, with flashing lights and demonic skeletons, is also somewhat questionable for a family attraction.
  3. Added ZDT's Amusement Park's new Switchback.
  4. To anyone curious, Joker and Cyborg (seen on the right side of the video) are the only animatronics in the attraction. Everything else will be screen-based. Here's some information, pulled from my (shamless plug) "Rides and Slides" thread.
  5. Theme Park Review released a video of Strike U Up and Spin U Win. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152890788163566&set=vb.194340658565&type=2&theater
  6. ^I imagine they will in time (and with success from these initial products). However, bigger projects require bigger finances.
  7. The movie is only a year out now and new still were released today. And an article on the movie: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2014/11/16/peanuts-movie-sneak-peek/18975553/
  8. ^It appears as though those specs won't relate directly to this installation (as SkyScraper is 370'), but that's definitely some interesting information.
  9. I apologize if this has been posted before, I could not find a topic with it. Four amusement park industry veterans founded a new amusement ride company, Skyline Attractions, LLC, back in July. Three of the men were former employees of Great Coasters International. Over the course of the following few months, the company continually teased their first project. A few weeks back, it was finally announced: Strike-U-Up, a piece of their Games-U-Ride line. Earlier today, the company announced its second attraction, Spin-U-Win. Both attractions look like fun experiences, albeit nothing major. I could easily see major amusement parks installing them as simple games without giving way too much media attention to them.
  10. I couldn't find a topic specifically on Skyplex, so I suppose this topic will have to do. For those unaware, a 570-foot roller coaster was announced for Orlando's International Drive last June. The ride was part of a $200 million development that also included ground level stores, a tower-top restaurant and observation deck, and a 1,500 car parking garage. Am edited POV of the attraction was released today, showcasing the new thrill ride's unique connection of twists, turns, and inversions. It definitely looks like an exciting ride: http://vzaar.com/videos/2286078
  11. ^^Great Pumpkin Coaster also received new seat belts, the Planet Snoopy style that the operator must unlock themselves. I don't think it's unfair to at least partially tally the 50,000 less riders to this. Thanks for putting this together malem!
  12. I remember this show too. They had the dirty diapers, which may have just been wet rags, being pulled above the audience's heads on some clothesline deal. Water would then drip down on the audience members. I also recall a group of three or four adults being placed in "stocks" of sort, and then pied in the face. And a similar set-up of kids, although slimed from above. "Everyday's a second chance, so get on your feet and dance..."
  13. I've always wanted to try and do a similar marathon at Kings Island, although our park is obviously an easier challenge with its smaller size, lower crowds, and fewer rides. To anyone curious, outside of Soak City, Kings Island has 47 rides. We'll assume anyone who attempts this will be too tall for six of them (Peanuts 500, Charlie Brown's Wind Up, etc.), and will need a child under 60" for five others (assuming Snoopy's Space Buggies requires riding with a child). Ignoring ERT and assuming a standard 10am-10pm day, that gives 17.5 minutes per ride. Definitely enough time to manage, even if it is moderately busy or the person attempting does not have FastLane.
  14. Here ya go: http://www.ragingcostumes.com/Lara_Croft/Paramount_Kings-Island_Stunt-Show.htm
  15. ^^I haven't had the opportunity to try the Canada one myself, but based off POVs and reviews, it seems like the biggest complaint is the short duration. Hopefully California's installation is longer.
  16. ^Thank you! Added Knott's Berry Farm's and Valleyfair's 2015 additions.
  17. ^Well, there goes any and all productivity of mine over the next few months...
  18. It is a lot of work, but Kings Island removed two of their "built annually" mazes (Holiday Horror and Slaughterhouse), which required complete construction and then deconstruction every season. I'd hope that with those two gone, the park is willing to utilize those resources to take down / put up Kill Mart annually instead.
  19. After it was removed, it wound up in somebody's backyard for a couple decades. There were pictures online somewhere of it, before it was scrapped, but I can't for the life of me find them again. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
  20. ^It's been a couple years since I last watched that documentary, but it has its fair share of errors and flaws.
  21. The Sky Ride jammed in April 1977. It wasn't removed until after the 1979 season. That incident alone was not reason for removing the ride.
  22. I think the fact they entirely removed the clock last off-season is the park's way of saying "Yeah, that's not going to happen."
  23. Added! Thank you! Also just added Kings Island's new additions for 2015:
