  1. The day I went the line was backed up to roughly near SOB's old queue, and I paid $85 for Fast Lane Plus, so I disagree.
  2. When will the shadows be installed?
  3. It's fun, but can be too long of a wait for too short of a ride.
  4. Haha my family still has the one from 1996, I think Blizzard Beach was new at that time, and yes, World of Motion was already closed down by then.
  5. Something about boats indoors is so neat. Even the lame boat ride in the Mexico section of Epcot Center in WDW is great!
  6. Wait, people think there's even a .01% chance that ANYONE would read "people fell out of The Vortex in the vertical loop and landed back in their seat" as anything but sarcasm/a joke? And we have someone stating their fear that such a statement might make "the press"? Seriously? LOL that's the dumbest thing I've ever read, lighten up people!
  7. It was a windy day, the wind blew them over into the correct position. The harness flew open -- that's how they fell out in the first place -- then closed from the g-force after they fell back into their seats. Duh.
  8. Yeah, they fell out at the top of the 2nd vertical loop, but when the train reached the bottom of the loop they ended up falling right back into their seats like nothing happened. I was there and saw it, it was crazy.
  9. When I think of "screaming like a Banshee", really 1 name sticks out of above everything else, and that is the great Angela Gossaw of the metal band Arch Enemy:
  10. For me, my love for PT comes pretty much 100% from nostalgia. If I had never ridden PT and it opened as a brand new attraction next year, I'd probably think it was pretty lame. But as a child, I loved it, and loved it for several years. Same goes for the Smurf ride. There was something about the water, the boats, and honestly, the smell of the ride that just did the trick for me. The ride probably sucked, I'm not old enough to really remember, but just the fact that there you were on a boat inside of a building and watching animatronics was so different and cool to me at a young age. People are always commenting that they wish PT would return because that is what they grew up with, and it will always hold a special place in their heart. Even if the ride wasn't the best, they had great memories on it and just one more go-around on that thing would bring those memories back. So unless you put a GREAT ride in there in its place, people are always going to say they wish PT was there instead. Put a GREAT ride in there though, and those comments will go away.
  11. Sooo.....I think it's safe to say that a simple solution to the locker situation that satisfies everyone simply does not exist
  12. It might seem like a silly comment, but it might have legitimately been the most THRILLING ride in the park. You definitely get butterfiles at the top of that thing that you don't get on other rides at CP.
  13. Demon Drop was the first ride I ever rode at Cedar Point. I definitely miss it, too. I've never been to Dorney, so that might be a good reason to check out that park at some point.
  14. Exactly, might as well hope they change it to a Disney theme. The odds of it happening are about the same.
  15. Great first post! Those are some of my all-time favs as well, especially the big slide! If we're talking about reasonable requests, I'm all about theming. I would love if they either brought back some theming that they've used in the past (as others have already mentioned) or add some new theming. The park does an outstanding job with theming during Halloween Haunt IMO, so I know they're more than capable. I could go on and on about theming, but I would be beating a dead horse. Instead I'll continue to beat the "bring back these rides!" dead horse.... If we're talking fantasies, I would LOVE if they brought back the following attractions: - Animal Safari (like you mentioned, though it would obviously need to be moved a bit) - Giant slide (like you mentioned, I think they could make room for it in kiddie-land) - A Skylab that's actually functional (in the same spot it used to be) - Flight Commander (in the same spot it used to be) - The quarter pitch game (in the same spot it used to be) -- not really a fantasy I guess, it seems like this would be easy to pull off! - The Flying Eagles (new location, not sure where though) - Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal (same spot after taking down Tomb Raider building, if DB isn't in the way?) - A new version of the Antique Cars (not quite sure where it would go, maybe replace Dinosaurs Alive? Would that be enough space?) - King Cobra (not sure where this would go either!) - Replace Boo Blasters with Phantom Theater (as many others have said) - The backwards train on Racer - Days of Thunder to the Action Theater - The tall slide tower-thing with 4 different slides on it that used to be in the water park - The trams that would shuttle people in from the parking lot (I know, not an attraction, but it would be nice for crowded days!
  16. No I'm talking about the early 90's. I only went once, probably in 90 or 91. I know it's an unpopular opinion on here, but I don't remember enjoying it that much. Then again I hate cold weather! I liked the Festival of Lights at the Zoo much more back then. And still do...our office is doing our Christmas party there this Friday and I'm looking forward to it.
  17. Group me in with this crowd. Winterfest did absolutely nothing for me, especially for the price (albeit that I never paid, but my parents did). The star and lights on ET were kinda cool but you could see those just by driving by, no need to get price-gauged just to see it up close and ice skate by the fountains. I love KI because of the rides, not because of International Street. So going in the winter and seeing all the rides and not being able to ride them was probably worse as a kid than not going at all!
  18. As disappointing and sad as it sounds to lose one of the 5 original themed areas that the park had when it first opened, this actually does make a lot of sense.
  19. What a waste! Replace it with a classic flat!
  20. I personally don't need a large Oktoberfest section. I would be happy if they just made Festhaus German-themed again. That would be good enough for me. Out of curiosity, what is the building in the 2nd to last pic of the OP just to the right directly next to Viking Fury (where Der Spinning Keggers originally were)?
  21. My grandmother was born and raised in Corbin, and still has a lot of family down there. I still visit once every other year or so.
  22. So the guy was way off, lol. Oh well, still an entertaining video nonetheless. It would have been nice if they went more in-depth on the other coasters, though.
  23. Sorry, just going off what the video said. At about the 51:25 mark of the video, the guy said it was the first rollercoaster built in the US since 1946. So my math was off, really he was saying it was the first coaster built in the last 25 years! Maybe he just has dyslexia or something and meant 1964 instead of 1946?
