Bingo. Best summary of the Drop Tower situation right here. I'm as curious as anyone about what's going on with it, but I certainly understand why they wouldn't disclose any information.

That reminds me APE, as I'm sure you know, some people don't understand mosh pit etiquette either. But 100% of the time in my experience the person with the poor mosh pit etiquette has been handled by security and/or others in a manner that did not work out so well for the culprit. I wish poor behavior in lines at amusement parks could be treated with the same success rate.

The ride has been open this year. Thousands of guests have ridden it since Opening Day. A lot of inaccurate information about the park has been posted on this site this year. This is a free public anonymous message board where literally anybody can post anything. A lot of posters are in their very early teens, as one would expect on a website about an amusement park. What else would you expect? Your "a lot of misinformation has been posted this year" posts are starting to feel more and more melodramatic with each one. Maybe you're just reading the forum more this year? I don't know, I personally think this community does a darn good job of challenging rumors and misinformation on here that is bound to be posted from time to time given the very nature of this message board as explained earlier. For instance, there were multiple posts that addressed the poster who claimed WindSeeker hasn't been running this year before you jumped in. These guys are on top of it. But even with that, there's still going to be false rumors and misinformation posted with some regularity.

Gabriel Taylor Statue Dedication, May 9th info

As a survivor of bone cancer, this will forever hold a special place in my heart. -
I am very fortunate in that I do not have any allergies to peanuts or Peanuts, but I do know a couple people that have moderate to severe allergies to the former.

IMO the reason they have the "no sharing" rule is not because they're a "big meanie corporation" that doesn't want anyone to be able to share a few leftover fries with their significant other or child and wants to make you buy your own for them; it's to prevent people from selling food that they don't intend to eat, or giving it to a potential customer that was going to make a purchase that no longer might. And by saying "no sharing under any circumstances", they eliminate any grey areas.

1. Read "Steve Tepper's" comments about TTD in the comments section. 2. Laugh hilariously along with me. If you don't feel like digging for it, he claims that he saw the TTD train get stuck not at the top of the hill, but vertically on the way up to the top to where the train was completely vertical, then it was slowly inched back down the hill from there. And vehemently argues with anyone who tries to explain to him how impossible such a feat would be by saying that he saw it first hand.

No it's not. It's completely different, in fact. Again, saying "fraud is fraud" is ignorant and lazy. There are vastly varying degrees of fraud, and I'm sorry, but the case I described earlier just doesn't register as being "wrong" at all on the morality scale. Once again, I never said it wasn't fraud. I've said 3 times now that no one should ever do this under any circumstance. I'm just saying I don't see the harm in this instance of "fraud". I'm an audit manager at a CPA firm. My line of work involves many things with regards to fraud literally on a daily basis, so I know a thing or 2 about fraud.

Once again, well said! I too am not condoning it and I don't think anyone should do it, but I've seen people time and time again post comments that are essentially along the lines of saying "stealing is stealing", which I disagree with. There are VASTLY varying degrees of breaking the terms that you agree to when purchasing a ticket, and some I just personally don't morally have a problem with. I'm sorry, but saying that giving (for free) someone who was not going to purchase a Fast Lane pass your Fast Lane pass as you leave the park a couple hours before it closes is not equivalent to "helping yourself to the cash register" as someone claimed earlier. That's completely absurd. Again, no one should ever do this, because it's against the rules. But let's not be ridiculous here.
-
Well said. I know it's illegal and I'm not condoning it in any way, but I would think that if you gave out a Fast Lane pass to someone after you were finished using it and the person receiving it really enjoyed it and appreciated the benefit of it, then maybe they would be a Fast Lane purchaser in the future, and/or the people they told their experience to. Could actually potentially be free advertising for the park. Again, not recommending that anyone should do it (please don't -- you'll be violating the terms of service!), but I agree with you.

That has happened to me before for 45-60 minutes in one of, if not the first year it was open, and it was in fact terrifying. I had a death grip on the handlebars below the seats on the unlikely chance that the restraints would open up and there would be nothing keeping me from plunging to my untimely demise. To me it's still one of the biggest thrills in the park for that very reason. The fear is still there every time I ride it!

That may help them monitor "sharers" as well. It might be easier to spot someone with a wristband who is sharing food with someone who isn't wearing a wristband.

5 Insanely Expensive Theme Park Rides That Literally Didn't Work
thegajone replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Kings Island
The first time I rode Jaws I was 13 years old and my brother was 9. We sat all the way on the rail to the inside. When the dead burnt/electrocuted Jaws at the end kind of did his thing where he moves a little bit towards the boat after sitting there still, we screamed like little girls. It was such a fun thrill. -
I REALLY wish I didn't have a big deadline coming up for work. Today would probably be a good day to go. Early rains might keep the crowds away, but the rain is supposed to stop around mid-day. Plus it's not too hot, not too cold. Oh well, I'm sure there will be other similar opportunities this spring.
-
I'm sure each park is its own subsidiary. And each park might be made up of different subsidiaries as well.
-
How is the theming in the queue? Is there fog and/or lighting throughout the ride? How different is the front entrance gate?
-
Sure, but countless posts riding a 13 year old girl because she said she was disappointed that the announcement was about a show? Come on.
-
The only thing more annoying than the people saying they were disappointed by the announcement are the people who have a problem with people who were disappointed by the announcement. Everyone has their own opinion, just let them be. That's kind of what a message board is for, believe it or not.

Nobody honored that great man more than I, but they couldn't really do that show forever... Vegas does....or so it doth seem. Vegas also doesn't offer season passes....or so it doth seem.
-
Hey you're preaching to the choir man. I love Ghost. But it's pretty obvious that their music will never be played at KI.
-
Smoking also doesn't promote satanism

While anything by Ghost being played at Kings Island would be mind-blowing, I don't think their lyrics and image are quite "family-appropriate", haha.

Yeah I try not to worry about all the germy stuff, probably because I have a pretty strong immune system. Other than a battle with the c-word a couple years ago (which is obviously not a disease that you get from others' germs), I haven't really been sick in probably 10 years or more, other than getting the sniffles and sore throat for a day or two maybe once or twice each year. One thing I always wondered about: if washing your hands and using hand sanitizer "kills 99.9% of germs", then doesn't that just mean that the strongest .1% are surviving and multiplying?
