  1. That's a pretty lame coaster to have a Tomb Raider theme in my opinion. Oh well, at least it isn't my home park getting that crappy coaster.
  2. I second what murph said. That's probably the easiest way to keep people happy that have different screen resolutions.
  3. I think that the stand-up phase has kind of passed. It's kind of like the old suspended coasters like Big Bad Wolf and XLR-8. I don't know, maybe we'll see another one sometime but I think there will have to be some new elements or something that would rekindle the hype for stand-ups.
  4. Not just PKI, but I think most Paramount parks will be getting into the B&M market in the next couple years. Currently, all PKD 2005 speculation is centering around B&M and I think it's about time that Paramount invest in some good old B&M flyers and floorless coasters.
  5. I'm not too sure since I haven't been to PKI, but does this map show the lake everyone is talking about at the back of the map? http://www.themeparkbrochures.com/maps/197.../pki197x_1.html
  6. That's great man! Cool job on a cool coaster!
  7. I agree with most of those you posted. Drachen Fire would be cool as long as they did a little smoothing of the ride. I would also go with Big Bad Wolf as long as it would have the same setting and scenery and would replace Top Gun. You have to go for Loch Ness Monster and Orient Express just because they are so unique. The only others I would ad would be maybe the Pepsi Max Big One from BPPB and Anaconda from PKD as long as they replaced the OTSR's with lap bars (and same setting of course ) As for Phantom's Revenge, it is still technically an Arrow creation that Morgan modified or retracked.
  8. Very nice report! Enjoyed reading it and looking at the pictures. Really weird seeing the huge fountain drained like that
  9. Vekoma will be using a different track system on Expedition Everest but it isn't new for them. They just haven't used it on a large scale coaster until now, it has only been used on their smaller coasters. The rails are on the outside of the ties instead of the traditional inside the ties. But I wouldn't bet on seeing a Vekoma coaster using this system on a large scale project until after they test out Expedition Everest. It would just be too much of a risk for the company to build a second one that way without making sure the first one works right.
  10. Actually, Racer isn't a clone at all. The turn-around is just slightly different than Rebel Yell at PKD and Thunder Road at PC. RY and TR are the same coaster though.
  11. You could always just look at Joker's Jinx, exact same layout just outside. It is a pretty confusing layout but it's a great one in my opinion
  12. No, the last B&M stand-up built was Georgia Scorcher at SFoG. That was in 1999 and Chang was built in 1997. I wasn't at all saying that that is was PKI is going to do, that was merely just a thought.
  13. I don't think that Vortex would be taken out anytime in the next few years. Well at least I hope not. Vortex is one of the older signature rides of PKI.
  14. Yeah that definitely isn't even a possibility. A nice thought if you liked KC though. But a couple things. There is no faster loading train for a Togo stand-up and it just wouldn't make sense for PKI to take the time and money to remove the coaster just to put it back up. If they want another stand-up, just go buy a B&M stand-up and name it the Cobra's Revenge
  15. It's not being tweaked at all, it's the same as it was when it was Stealth. As for the boomerang, I personally think they suck. They are way to rough and there are just too many of them. The super Invertigo ones (DeJa Vu, Stunt Falls) look ok but they seem to have a ton of mechanical problems. See a pattern, Vekoma, mechanical problems
  16. Vekoma isn't even selling that many coasters. They only have 7 coasters going up for the 2004 season (BORG doesn't count, it's being relocated). The only notable ones out of those are Space Mountain and Gauntlet. I mean, who has heard of New Pleasurewood Hills and Al-Shallal Theme Park (where some Vekoma coaster are going in)? I agree that the only reason parks do buy Vekoma coasters is because they are much cheaper, well except for Expedition Everest but that includes all the landscape work too.
  17. That's a really great site! I really liked seeing all those old pictures from PKD as well. Thanks for passing that on!
  18. By cutting it to 15 seconds you would still have a flood control. We're not saying take it out completely. I don't really think reducing it by 15 seconds will create more people that are trying to up their post count either.
  19. I agree. I think on all the forums I visit the flood control is 15 secs. It makes it a lot easier when you are short on time and want to make a few posts in different topics.
  20. I very seriously doubt there will be a B&M dive machine put in. They are way overrated coasters and unless B&M makes some drastic changes and additions to them, don't count on seeing one. I really don't like the idea of an Adam's Family theme myself, but that's just me. The Italian Job would be cool and Paramount definitely needs to get into some water coasters. I wouldn't doubt the fact of seeing the Star Trek theme pop up at other Paramount parks after PC deciding to use it this year.
  21. I think that most if not all Paramount parks have or are running similar surveys. They usually do those once a year or every 2 years. I did one for PKD a while back that was really similar to that PKI one.
  22. Great work man! I like how you even put the descriptions of the pictures under them. That would make a great screen saver too!
  23. I still don't see even a smaller park getting it, simply because it is a nightmare. The shape of the ride is one thing and then the loading and unloading time of it is horrible. It's going to be scrap metal sooner or later.
  24. As for the Hurler, yes PKD and PC have one but PKD has removed all the Wayne's World themeing except Stan Mikita's so I don't see them using the theme again anywhere else. I'm not sure if they removed all the themeing from PC's Hurler or not. I agree with the Tomb Raider theme. It is too good of a opportunity of themeing to waste on TR:TR. A coaster that looks like Montu at BGT would go great with some Tomb Raider themeing. I do wish they would put a new version of Days of Thunder back in the FX Theatres. A 3D version would be really cool. Top Gun has been sucked dry so I don't really see the point of using it again, but PKD might in the next couple years.
  25. I never saw 007 but I have seen SpongeBob here at PKD. I hate SpongeBob but the 3D thing was pretty cool. I would say just from my thoughts, that if 007 were to come back in 3D, no one would even remember that they had SpongeBob there at one time
