A heavily themed euro fighter would be cool at that park as well.

I like the tradition they have going on of Woodies with that in mind I also notice they have a severe lack of inversions, as in none. I'd like to see them get both in an RMC product.

Even though Holiday Worlds 2014 season is only a few weeks underway, the park today begins its countdown to 2015. As we continue to expand our Thanksgiving section, we look for ways to tie into that theme, says Matt Eckert, president of Holiday World & Splashin Safari. Knowing the Mayflower was at sea for 66 days gave us the idea to count down the days until we announce our expansion for 2015. The 66-day countdown will take place on a microsite called 66DaysAtSea.com, which is part of Holiday Worlds website. Each day, a new journal entry will appear, as a mother on board the Mayflower tells of her familys voyage to the New World in the year 1620. The journal will culminate with the parks announcement, on the 67th day, which will take place on July 24. Were mixing our parks themes for this announcement, says Eckert, as it will fall on Christmas Eve in July. Our announcement will coincide with the start of a construction phase that would undoubtedly give away any part of the secret that still existed. Speculation has already begun among roller coaster enthusiasts on forums such as CoasterBuzz.com and ThemeParkReview.com, with speculative tweets over the weekend from @Screamscape and @ThemePark Insider. I cannot confirm nor deny that this project includes a roller coaster, says Eckert. But I can confirm that this is by far the largest expansion project in our seven-decade history. The 66DaysAtSea.com microsite was created by the Louisville web design company DBS Interactive. Work on a second microsite is underway; it will appear following the July 24 announcement. Holiday World & Splashin' Safari are now open daily. New this year is the Mayflower swinging ship ride plus Friday Night Fireworks, which will begin June 13. http://www.holidayworld.com/66days/ Lets follow whatever they have planned for next year. It looks like we will get hints each day with an announcement coming on July 23. That's if the announcement is at the end of all of the hints.

They did a ton of work to this park already and its great to see all of the pictures and read good reports. I was wondering though why it will take until 2016 to get both coasters that already existed up and running? I'm not complaining just curious.

I really want to hit the water park. We are planning to go next year for whatever the new ride is. We may even do Holiwood Nights. I want to hit those coasters at night. Im fairly certain I would have felt the same about The Raven from 2000-2003 as I do today. I'll give that 5th drop in the back seat and going over the water the credit it deserves but I wasn't overly impressed and would have still preferred my Beast to the Raven.

Do it. It's definitely worth going to.

I imagine they will. The board said cheese was on it as well but I never noticed anyway. It was still good and also on a pretzel bun.

Its the signature thing. Its just called the hot Diggity dog. We didnt know either until a thing on the menu popped up on the side saying what it was.

We went to Dollywood a couple of years back for the first time. We absolutely loved the park. All four major coasters were great. I think Mystery Mine was my favorite. I've read a lot of reports where people hate it, I don't get it.

Those hot dogs are by their little kiddie area where Howler is. And yes we rode Howler for the credit.

My wonderful wife decided to take me to Holiday World for the first time for my birthday coming up on the 21st. We left at 6:30am to make the two and a half a hour drive. No traffic and we made excellent time. It would have been better if it was not for 71 being only one lane for several miles and being stuck behind trucks. When we first pulled up on the park we had no idea where to go and where to park. We did not see any workers in the area so we just pulled into a random lot. There was a diabetes walk going on so I asked one of the guys setting up what the deal was and where I should park. He said I was in the right lot and that all we needed to do was walk through the tunnel under the road and the entrance is right on the other side. So we start getting ready and gather the things we will be taking into the park. I happened to look at my phone and realized that the time changed somewhere on the drive and instead of a half hour wait we had an hour and a half wait thus explaining why no workers were around. We were hungry and decided to go find food. Subway was the only option so we ate there and headed back to where we were. This time there were workers waiting. Free parking is pretty awesome. Finally we get to make our way into the park. We bought our tickets at the window using our TPR discount and got in for $32 each. When they dropped the rope and let everyone we were going to do Raven first but everyone ran there and I noticed Legend was right around the corner so we went there first and walked on. I absolutely loved the insanity of the ride but my wife thought it beat her up too much. Next was The Raven, we sat in the back row per a recommendation from others. It was fun and I loved the airtime on the ride. After the Raven we went to The Voyage. I had been reading for years about this ride and how hyped up it was. Im thinking no way is this ride that good. We rode front seat for the first ride. My mind was blown by how awesome it was, I even drooled on myself at the end of the ride. I now fully understand the hype. From that point on we just walked around and rode everything we could find. Most lines were a few cycles and the longest we had waited all day was about a half hour for our second ride on the Voyage. We also watched the dive show which I enjoyed. We didn't do anything in the water park because my wife had forgot that I was even comsidering it and didn't bring anything with her. I should have reminded her so that's my fault. I really want to get back to the park and do the water side of things. We ended up with three rides on The Voyage, two rides on The Legend, and Two rides on The Raven. The front seat is definitely the place for us on all three as that's where we had the most fun especially on Voyage. If you get the chance I recommend making it out to this park. Onto pictures. From our parking spot. I liked that we had a restroom right there. And free parking! Ready to see what this place has in store. It says #1 coaster for several year...it must have rode different then. Let's see what you've got. Raven station. One of my favorite views in the park, looking at The Legend drop. This thing made me drool on myself. Courtney whooped me pretty bad. These are fun, though I don't think anyone on here likes this type of ride.... Hot Diggity Dog combo. Bacon wrapped and deep fried. It was good.

I didn't think Voyage was rough at all. But then again I grew up on Son of Beast and The Beast. Legend was crazy fun and The Raven was fun but the other two are worlds better to be. -

I now understand the hype of the Voyage and bow to it. -
I think the three more roller coasters includes the two rehab projects one opening in 2015 the other in 2016.

Shoot The Rapids boat flips over with riders
APE replied to Creed Bratton's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I thought Shoot the Rapids was made so it could run season long with being able to control the amount of splash and what not? Also if you look on the Fast Lane portion of the website the other water rides say not open until Memorial Day, they don't specify Shoot the Rapids waiting until then like the others. -

With it being as cold as it is this week and a high of 64 wouldn't that keep most everyone away from the water park? -

Any tips you fine people could share with me for my first trip to this park on Saturday? -
Ill deal with the cold water. Bring it on.

Colder temps means no lines or at least minimal.

I think they are meaning if someone touches them as in repeated without care or concern for their actions. In which it is justified for them to say they will have problems.
