  1. Flight Commander was a problem with the restraints, but it was rider error as well. She was drunk and somehow slipped out of the restraints. I wonder what it would have been like to be there when it happened. I just can't imagine watching a ride and then somebody falling out. It's almost like you would wonder for a split second if what you saw really happened. It seems unbelievable.

    Pkd Vs. Pki

I'll let you know next year after I make a three park trip tour that will include PKD, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Hersheypark. Otherwise, I'd have to say PKI since I have never been to PKD. Looking forward to that trip next year.
  3. The screamscape ultimate awards are in. Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle took the award for Ultimate Dark Ride Attraction. They also came close in several other categories including Best Wooden Coaster. Here's the link to the awards...Screamscape Ultimate Awards
  4. Actually, I should have clarified what I meant. Before the metal detectors were installed, how many gun/knife incidents have there been. And, I mean someone stabbed or shot or brandishing, not just carrying. A lot of people carry pocket knives with them. Not to say that the gentleman you were referring to was just carrying a pocket knife.
  5. I still think it is overkill. I would like to know if there have been any incidents involving knives and guns at PKI. As far as terrorists go, it seems that they are more interested in destroying major government buildings or American Icons like Disney or something of that nature.
  6. It is true about the yellow line. Gemini at CP had the same yellow line rule, but I think they have air gates now. And, I heard the ride ops many times tell people to step behind the yellow line. It's their job and maintains a safe atmosphere.
  7. I can see PKI getting the Italian Job ride. They have been claiming that PKI will be adding attractions that are more like what you see in the larger theme parks, thus moving closer to becoming a theme park. I personally would like to see the Addams Family coaster built at PKI, but I have a feeling we are going to get the Italian Job ride. But, we'll all know soon enough.
  8. Well, if I'm wrong about the gas prices, then what do you suppose is contributing to less spending? Gas prices has to figure in somewhere. If you're spending more money on gas, then there's less in your pocket to spend.
  9. I have your new attraction for 2005. The Eiffel Tower is going to be replaced by a Jeffrey Siebert Statue that will use the old elevator. This is for the folks whom believe that Mr. Siebert is a God so you can properly worship him. You heard it first here folks!
  10. Maybe higher gas prices have contributed to less spending in the park?
  11. Yeah, PKI is the flagship park as it was the first in the chain. And, remains the most popular.
  12. Your poll can't be accurate because you can only choose one and vote. My favorites are: 1) The Beast 2) Delirium 3) Vortex 4) Face/Off 5)Son of Beast
  13. So, it sounds like I was more on target with a dark ride as opposed to a coaster. If this is the case, then I think they would put that ride in their flagship park.
  14. I read the same article on PKIU and was confused by the whole racer with one side. I'm quite sure that there were always two tracks. If there was only one, why would you call it The Racer? Who's it going to race?
  15. Get me some Cliff's Notes please. But, good TR.
  16. Yeah! I loves Hong Kong Phooey! Number 1 super guy. Quicker than the human eye. (Ok, I have seen that cartoon way too many times)
  17. Yeah, brwntggr, what I was saying is that it kinda sounded like a dark ride experience like Spider-Man, but without the 3D animation. I'm sure much of the cost was related to that. I imagine that it would be more like a SDATHC, but instead it would speed you from scene to scene. I respect your opinion Scooby Doo, I was just curious as to why you didn't like it. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if it was a wild or spinning mouse coaster. I have wanted to ride one, but nothing yet.
  18. It's not really a common word, but I used the word immersive and it came up with no suggestions, but thought it was misspelled.
  19. Why did you think the Italian Job idea sucked? You really can't tell much from the description. And, from what almost everyone here and at PKIU says, it seems everyone would like to have some kind of immersive ride experience like Spider-Man and it sounds like Italian Job would be similar except for the 3D animation.
  20. Yeah, I like the way the lines keep moving at CP. You never seem to stand in one place for a very long time, unless it's the Mantis. I like that ride, but the long wait is miserable.
  21. AmazonAllen, you left out B&M's reliability.
  22. FOF, some of the reasons that some of PKI's lines move so slow is low ride capacity like Delirium and Tomb Raider. I would also inclued RRR as it only has one train and I waited longer to ride that one than some of the larger coasters. CP buys rides with higher capacity. That's why they win the Golden Ticket Award every year for capacity. The most recent one I can think of that doesn't have great capacity is Wicked Twister, although I've never waited longer than 45 minutes.
  23. From what I understand, you can really attribute the new smoothness to a new kind of wheels for the trains. Can't confirm this though. Removing the OSTR's only eliminated the head banging.
