What they really need instead of an expensive lodge is a Hotel. I would like to see something like the Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point. The prices are reasonable, especially if you go for a package deal. And, about PKIU, I am a member there as well. Yeah, there are some rude people over there, but you just have to give it back to them.

Oh! And some families do come multiple times! Even if they don't like in the Cincy/ Mason area. Yeah, this is why I said probably most families do not, insead of all families do not. Anyway, I mostly see teenagers by themselves more than any other group of people including enthusiasts and families. Families spend sooo much more than enthuastists per a trip usually, even if the enthuastist comes multiple times. I do not doubt this, but you still have to satisfy the thrillseeking, coaster enthusiasts.
-
I pretty much agree with you, PKI_Diana, but, you can't ignore the enthusiast market either. I would venture a guess and say that it is the enthusiasts that make multiple trips to PKI, whereas many families can only go once a season. And, I'm not talking about the families that live in that area either.

jmcowen, were you watching the same show? Extreme Rides 2003? It had a big feature on Delirium. I'm not trying to sound like a smart @ss.
-
Good TR. Can I get the abbreviated version?
-
Good TR. My favorite spot on The Vortex is the back seat. You really get whipped around the inversions. So, are you saying you liked Tomb Raider?
-
Yeah, me too. I would like to see an explanation of how Delirium works. Kind of like a technical look at it.
-
I would say that this is the man responsible for my love of coasters. Although The Racers were not my first coaster, it was what I would call my first major coaster. God rest his soul.
-
Yeah, they are both woodies, but The Beast is a terrain coaster and Thunderhead is not. Beasts' track is a lot more spread out and utilizes the surrounding areas. I don't get that feeling from Thunderhead.
-
Yeah, I agree. I don't see another coaster for next year unless it's a kiddie coaster or a coaster similar to the Flying Super Saturator. That would be cool.

I taped Extreme Rides 2003 last night. I thought that this was an excellent show. Superb coverage of Delirium. I liked some of the other flats they showed like the swatter. I also thought that the one coaster, Colossus, with the ten inversions, looked really boring. Then I realized, it has to be. The ride is less than a minute and you can only go so fast through the inversions. So, it must be doing inversions for nearly the entire ride. Too bad they didn't cover Tomb Raider more, even though I don't like the ride.

I agree FOF 1996, you can't really compare the two.

That was all that I was really saying...that they cars may be replaced with electric ones. 2006 is a big mystery to me. We have received new rides/attractions of every flavor recently....ie. IJ: Stunt Track, Delirium, SDATHC, Boomerang Bay. What's left other than a face lift for Coney Mall or an addition to Coney Mall?
-
It's a repeat from last year, but I never got to see it. I know I hate to miss coaster shows, so I thought it would be cool to post an update.
-
Here's a reminder in case you missed it last year. Extreme Rides 2003, featuring Top Thrill Dragster will air tonight at 6:00 pm on the Discovery Channel. Also, tomorrow, on the Travel Channel, the show Theme Park Secrets, featuring PKI, will air at 5:00pm. Usually, they air these shows 2-3 times in an evening, so you may want to check local listings for other times it will air. Peace...

Actually, I like the name Italian Job:Stunt Track. I don't want every movie themed attraction to be _______:The Ride. That gets lame and old real quick. Actually, PKI has only used it once with Tomb Raider and that is enough. So, are people saying that they should go back and re-name themed movie rides to Top Gun: The Ride, Face/Off: The Ride, Drop Zone: The Ride, etc? Too repetitive and sounds ridiculous to boot.
-
I wish that they would. But, if something goes near the SOB/FOF area, which was speculated before, they may not do anything quite yet.
-
I say B&M inverted. Well, maybe not. Anyway, I don't know about 2006, but a new flat would be cool. Only now can I say this since we are getting a coaster in '05. A revamp of the antique cars that will have a nick theme to it. They may replace the cars as well because from what I have heard, it is becoming expesive to maintain the cars as they are.
-
I said, screw this, I'm getting a SF season pass next year...NOT! This ride will be awesome! No doubt about it. To all of the people complaining about their choice of a new ride...go queue up somewhere else or don't come at all. I thought there were three launches in store for this ride, but I could be wrong. I wonder if they will sell IJ polo shirts next year. I love my polos.
-
Yeah, I heard that the bumping of going down the stairs will be simulated and not actual bumps in the track.
-
Vortexlover2, you also forgot that PKI had the first suspended coaster in the world...The Bat.
-
"Does anyone know when the details or facts of this coaster will come out? I think its odd they are keeping it quiet" Maybe there are some things that they are still working out. This would be a good reason not to release all stats. Plus, they want to keep us guessing the rest. How else will we fill up the message boards?
-
Yep, it is a coaster. With multiple launches. It will be no less of a coaster than FOF. Yeah, I would still like to see a steel hyper or something else, but this more than satisfies my wishes for a new coaster at PKI. The drought is finally over. And, I'm willing to bet money that it will be worth the long wait.
-
Don't know if it has been announced, but it has been confirmed. Shaggy said it and I believe it. Also, there are plans to relocate the Tiques and theme them. I'm guessing something for the kids related to Nick somehow.
-
Why re-theme the antique cars? Same reason they added theming to the log flume and re-named it Wild Thornberry's. It did breathe some new life into the log flume. Plus, they added the on-ride photo.
