That's fine if you feel that Halloween is not a holiday. But, last time I checked my caledar, it is a nationally recognized holiday. I guess you don't think presidnt's day or Martin Luther King Day is a holiday either? I am just wondering why you think Halloween is not a holiday.
-
I see his logic though. If KI restarted the golden age of coasters, then by the logic presented on this board, everyone whom built a coaster after that (especially racing) is copying.
-
All I want is for people to come up with a good, sensible reason why PKI would not install a large coaster. Think they're not into that? Wrong. The Beast - opened as the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden coaster in the world Vortex - opened as the tallest, fastest, and most inversions for a coaster. Son of Beast - Still the tallest, fastest, and only looping coaster in the world.

I agree with tggr, most people on here are being ridiculous. All parks copy eachother in one way or another. Let me guess, every park with a ferris wheel is copying eachother?
-
Halloween is indeed a holiday. What have you people been smokin'? What makes you believe that Halloween is not a holiday? And, just because you don't get holiday pay does not mean it's not a holiday. That has absolutely nothing to do with anything. BTW, it was originally called All Hallow's Eve.

They acutally decided to start a bonfire out of the remains of the Scooters. I would like to see any form of B&M in the park.

Klockster said, "I'll let you know what my day record is next year when I ride SOB for 14 hours straight." And I'll be waiting for you with an on site MRI that you will need afterwards. Just joking. I really do like SOB, but I can't take too many laps on it.
-
Maybe the problem is, if they put IJ in a new place, you might have to create an entire new area adding up to a lot more money to place one ride. Yes, it is nice to have all of that land, but you would have to install several other things for that area. ie, bathrooms, food stalls, walk areas, and other rides so that it doesn't stand alone.

Legend Rider, you asked if that was the Addams Family ride and that is what I was trying to explain to you. I would rather see something more done with it than the tiques, but that might prove to be cool too.
-
Legend Rider, that is not what has been rumored about the antiques. The original rumor was that the tiques would make a return as the Nickelodeon Toonpike. Now, many seem to think it will turn in to the Spongebob car wash. The Addams Family ride was a concept in a Paramount survey. It was a vertical drop coaster that went through the Addams Family graveyard.

Well, here comes the Save the Scrambler campaign. Who's going to make up the t-shirts?
-
Good question about the noise. I like the look of Coney Mall the way it is, excpet some sprucing up and maybe an additional ride somewhere in there.
-
Wow, site work. How riveting!?

No, it just means it's not very popular and worth removing. Cry me a river. I'm sick of the whining about the Eagles. Life moves on, so should you.

"And on the whole Delirium copy at Cedar Point, I think its a cheap shot. Thats all Im gonna say about that." Cheap shot? Whatever. Did you think that Huss was only going to make rides for PKI? I guess you thought Intamin would never build a bigger ride than Dragster for another park? I'm sure that Huss would also jump at the chance to build another giant top spin or Frisbee at any other park. There in the business to make money. So, I guess everyone with a Bayern Curve or Rotor or Scarmbler or Monster type of rides are all copying each other.

That's a pretty good guess SOB TOM. Makes sense to me.

"We expanded our waterpark, they build a waterpark. I hate that park. I'll bet they put in something themed next year." That's not even copying. You can't compare the two of them becuase one is located in a hotel. "Look at it this way, Cedar Point is landlocked. They had no other choice but to add a flat. Other than expanding out into the parking lot or tearing down other attractions the park is maxed out. " Cedar Point is not running out of room. I'm guessing by your post that you think that CP will not build any more coasters since there's no room. I don't know where the link is, but if you have ever seen pictures of the peninsula from the air, you would see that there is still plenty of room. You can't go by their park map. That's misleading.
-
I think this is a great idea for CP. I wonder why the height requirement is different since they are essentially the same ride?
-
I am glad that these other people are not excited about IJ:ST. It means I won't have to stand in line behind them...NOT! I guarantee that nearly every naysayer will be lined up for it next year even though they love to trash it here on the boards.
-
That is also what I have heard about SF parks. I should have ammended what I said because I think it is ok to do this with their permission.

I just want everyone to know that I do not disrespect religion and I didn't post that link to offend anyone. Apparently, religion is a hot topic around here. I myself, am spiritual, but I also have a sense of humor as well.

Yeah, I think not only do the parks frown upon taking cameras on rides, but their insurance companies as well. That is a huge liability and a lawsuit potential. Way back in the early years of PKI, before The Beast, my uncle took a camera on The Racers. This was before the parks didn't allow that kind of thing. Turns out the footage was not all that great since it's hard to hold a camera steady and ride. He has it on 8mm film, I believe. The only way I can even watch it is on a reel to reel.
-
I think the so called "coaster race" is about to be over. I think you are going to see parks moving to be more like PKI in that you won't see many back to back installations of coasters. Look at Cedar Point. They are finally realizing that you don't have to build more coasters to draw more attendance. That is, if it is true that they are going to add a new flat or two for next year. Also, I agree with an earlier post about PKI having a good collection of coasters, but, for the most part, too many of them are flat out rough. You don't get too much of that at CP.

The Eagles being removed was not really a surprise to me. It's not like that ride had an hour wait or anything.

If Charlene is there, she'll probably have to make an appearance like the Pope does, in a pope-mobile. There would be too many lusting fans after her, me included.
