Stricker's Grove
We noticed that as well. I did not know that they had a kiddy Drop Tower. I was thinking that the park could use one. I suspect a new flat will be in that spot for 2027. We actually spoke to a couple of guys in line for Tornado. Was that you by any chance? They seemed very knowledgeable about KI's history and Stricker's Grove.

Stricker's Grove
So, on August 9th, my son and I made a road trip for Stricker's Grove. It's rare for us to have a free weekend when he plays soccer year round. Plus, with their limited hours where they are open to the public, it makes a visit there difficult to achieve. So, we arrived at the park around 12:20pm. The park is open from 12-8pm. We did not realize until we arrived, that the rides operate from 1-4pm and 5-8pm. Being that this park is pretty small, I agree in giving the employees a dinner break for an hour. The 1st rode we lined up for is their wood coaster, the Tornado. Since this was going to be my 100th coaster, I really did not want the Teddy Bear coaster to be my 100th. Tornado was built in house and in one particular place on the ride, it was apparent that it was. Still, it was a good coaster. Next, we walked over to my 101st, the Teddy Bear. Amazingly, this kids wood coaster was pretty darn good. They had a small collection of flat rides, including a Tip Top, a Rainbow, a Pirate Ship, a carousel, a junior whip, a boat ride and one other that I cannot recall. My biggest regret of the day was stopping to eat lunch before we arrived. We walked through the front gate and there were people that were grilling food right there. It smelled so good. Also of note, the park gives out free drinks and parking is also free. I took my son over after the Teddy Bear to ride the Tip Top. I had not been on one of those since I was a kid and Camden Park had one. Between the 2 of us, we had our car spinning insanely fast the entire ride cycle. We were both laughing so hard. He marveled at how the car had no restraint of any sort. I told him how back in my day, we rode by the seat of our pants. Next, we walked over to the Electric Rainbow. I also had not been on one of these since Camden Park had one. Great fun. He also remarked how the only safety measure was a chain in front of you. After that, we walked to the front of the park to get a drink. We then proceeded to the miniature golf course, which was also free. I started off pretty strong and joked about how they needed to size me up for my gold jacket. I spoke too soon as I performed poorly later on and he wound up winning by 6. After that, we took another spin on the Electric Rainbow, the Tornado and the Tip Top. We decided to head home after that. We had not planned on staying but a few hours anyway. The tickets were $22/person, so what a great value for a small park like Stricker's Grove. On a final note, I it is of note that this park is mostly a picnic grove with a few rides. Outside food is also welcomed and I saw some had brought their own grills. All in all, just a great park, with a quaint atmosphere and good employees. If you ever get the chance to go there, it's something you don't want to miss.

Six Flags Great Adventure’s Record-Breaking BAKUNAWA Will Be Unlike Any Roller Coaster You’ve Ever Ridden
With it's expected capacity of 900pph, the capacity sounds terrible for a massive park like Great Adventure.

2027 speculation
What I would like to see is a multi-inversion, multiple launch coaster in The Vortex plot of land for 2027.

Fixing the "Just Okay" Orion
I said the GP doesn't do that, not that they do make more distinctions. So my opinion stands. What they see is a taller coaster that is very exciting. Maybe a few think it feels like Diamonback, but I would be willing to bet it's a small percentage.

Fixing the "Just Okay" Orion
What you have to keep in mind, is that every opinion of all coasters/rides/installations on this site are through an enthusiast lens. The general public likely doesn't see Orion as just a taller version of Diamondback. They see it as yet another highly enjoyable coaster that is the tallest in the park to date. It seems @Orion-XL200, we were typing up similar responses at the same time.

Invertigo: The Next To Go?
I would like to see an S&S Screamin' Swing in the Invertigo space if it is, in fact, removed.

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
I would like to point out that I believed the new attraction was going to be a replacement for Boo Blasters and was correct. I also honestly believe Looney Tunes will be coming in, while Peanuts will be out. I don't believe that the license will be renewed at the end of the 2025 season.

Six Flags CEO Richard Zimmerman to Step Down
The chain, as a whole, needs to focus on guest experience and operations. Seems to me that this has taken a back seat, chain wide. Kings Island seems to be more along the lines of the exception, but even they aren't what they used to be. Now, I have not lost hope with the merger. I knew that they would experience some growing pains. Zimmerman was just not a good choice. As others have mentioned, they need someone similar to Matt Ouimet to step into that leadership position. I still think we won't know the actual results of the merger for 5 years. However, we can take notice of when the chain is being moved in the right direction.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
I would just like to add that opinions on the Six Flags/Cedar Fair merger are going exactly as I had predicted. Many opinions are doom and gloom while I maintained that it would be 5 years minimum before you would see the actual results of said merger. I told my son that it would take less than a year for the complaints to start rolling in and here we are.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Which one is more delusional...for Phantom Theater to make a return or for the older crowd wishing it was Enchanted Voyage making a comeback?

Kennywood and Hersheypark 06/02-06/06/25
My son and I went on a trip to Kennywood and Hersheypark the 1st week of June. We left early Tuesday, the 2nd, and arrived by opening at Kennywood. This was our 1st trip ever to Kennywood. I do like the location and size of the park. It's not as big as say Kings Island or Cedar Point, but not real small either. We immediately went to Steel Curtain, even though it was located at the back of the park. It was the one I was looking forward to most. The line was fairly short and we only waited 15-20 minutes. Steel Curtain is by far the best coaster at Kennywood, in our opinion. My only issue with it is I'm an Eagles fan and the logos made me want to barf. It seems the issues with the supports has been fixed and seems to be running consistently. We rode every coaster except Exterminator. I had considered it, but it's not easily visible from the midway and I kind of forgot about it. Jack Rabbit is by far my favorite wooden coaster that they have. The double down is really cool and the 1st time I experienced that. We visited a gift shop nearby, and my son picked up a piece of the Jack Rabbit that was being sold there. Pretty cool at a cost of $50, which I thought wasn't too expensive. Phantom's Revenge was really nice, up until after the 2nd drop. Then it turned into a very painful to ride Arrow. Thunderbolt was pretty cool with the old trains that they use, but I found that one to be pretty rough as well. Sky Rocket was a really good launch coaster, even though it doesn't have much in the way of capacity. Racer was a good coaster. Thought it was cool that it's one of the last mobius coasters in existence. I talked him into riding the Turtle, so that he could experience the ride I loved when I was very young...Kings Island's Tumble Bug. He thought it was cool. Overall, we did enjoy Kennywood, although we did leave before park closing. I was bored after riding most of the coasters more than once. We did ride Steel Curtain 5 times. We stayed at a hotel in Pittsburgh that was really nice. Last time I hit 2 parks, I didn't schedule a day in between, which I did do this time. On Wednesday, we drove over to the Days Inn Hershey (where we stayed in 2019) and checked in. The only thing I did not enjoy about the Days Inn was that they no longer offer shuttle service to the park. We did enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub before going to Hersheypark for a couple of hours. If you don't know, if you present your ticket at the gate and you stay at one of their approved hotels, you can enter the park for a couple of hours. We went in at 5, since the park closed at 7. Even though it was pretty far from the front gate, we went almost all the way to the back of the park to ride Wildcat's Revenge. 2019 was the year that this coaster closed. I have to say, after having been on Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point, Wildcat's Revenge is now my favorite. I mostly like Steel Vengeance, except for the few moments that I get slammed into the lap bar. I did not get that with Wildcat. The one thing SV has over WCR, is traveling on the wrong side of that hill. We rode Wildcat twice that evening while getting a lap on Lightning Racers and Farenheit (we did not ride Farenheit the next day. Line was always long and it's terrible a capacity). The following day, we arrived at park opening and went straight for their latest coaster installation, Candymonium. From a distance, it looks like your standard cookie-cutter B&M hyper. It was a pretty good one though, that packed a pretty good punch. It seems they have a wave turn similar to Orion, but it's not nearly as fun and not sustained as long. We pretty much rode all of their other coasters, except for Great Bear. Great Bear is by far my least favorite invert. We did manage to ride Twizzlers Twisted Gravity. I've only been on Skyhawk at Cedar Point. I didn't really notice that this is the largest S&S swing to date. However, I did like the location. It is fairly near Skyhawk and Comet. If you haven't been, I would highly recommend Hersheypark. I had a Nathan's Famous Hotdog for late lunch and it was the best hotdog I've had to date.

TT2 at Cedar Point to be ready for opening day 2025
I understand what you mean, but I have not seen any reports that any welding has gone on.

TT2 at Cedar Point to be ready for opening day 2025
If it's a crack in a support, I would presume the ride would be closed longer than a few days. Fury was closed like over a month.

Anyone for a new water ride?
Well, I guess we shall see. If, in fact, the reason the Crypt building has been emptied out is for a new family attraction, then I am all for that. Out of curiosity, does anyone know the dimensions of this building? That would kind of narrow down the possibilities of what could be added.

Anyone for a new water ride?
I am of the opinion that the new family attraction winds up in the Boo Blasters building. That ride hasn't been overhauled in ages. What, since 2010?

If you could add a loopy dee loop to one ride at KI?
And strictly for entertainment purposes only, it could be named as if it is part of The Beast family...

SOB Original Design
I notice several differences. Seems they should have stuck with this design, although with the subpar making of this coaster, it likely wouldn't have mattered anyway.

2025 Bucket List Parks
I do have a bucket list for amusement parks and I have visited quite a few of them since 2019. Up for this year is Six Flags Over Georgia.

The Bat Removal Rumor
I also believe AZ becomes DCU within the next couple of seasons. Why wouldn't they use a highly popular IP that they already own? AZ theming doesn't even make sense any longer.

Anaconda getting the squeeze at Kings Dominion?
I rode Anaconda 2 years ago and I did not find it to be a fun coaster at all. The dive under the lake was cool, but beyond that I was not impressed. Although I am dismayed that the recent trend is to not make any announcement on ride closures. I figured with CF management being in control, it would not be a thing.

New Kings Island Dark Ride
I wouldn't mind a Snoopy Space family friendly dark ride in that area. I'm sure they can come up with something really cool in that building. I would also like to see a re-theme of this ride since it's been a very long time since we've had one. I would very much like a new coaster in the old Vortex spot, but I would be pleased if we received a new indoor ride.

RIP Nighthawk?
I agree about no notice for ride closures. They did the same thing with Kingda Ka. I never got to experience it and was hoping to make the trek there some day. I still want to go. I was just surprised that there was no announcement about the ride closing for good.
