  1. I truly don't feel like the 2026 project will be in Vortex's old spot. I know nothing of what or where, but that's just my gut feeling on it. I could definitely be wrong.
  2. I am also in the camp of a family thrill attraction going in to the Boo Blasters on Boo Hill building. I'm pretty sure it's been far longer for something new there as opposed to the old Vortex plot of land. It's entirely possible that 2027, we will receive a coaster in that area.
  3. I am going to express some disappointment in the closure of KK. As we have seen previously, an announcement was made so that guests could get one last ride and this was not done. I would not have made a special trip to ride on it, but I'm betting there would have been several of their loyal guests that would have done so, similarly to what happened with The Vortex.
  4. Apparently I was mistaken about Kingda Ka. It is definitely being removed. Now why Zumanjaro wasn't mentioned is not clear to me. I am hopeful that Intamin will make a return to the Cedar Fair side of this Six Flags chain one day. It seems their reliability issue is not as bad as once was. The other big sticking point was how they kind of blew off safety concerns after what happened at Cedar Point. I understand that building attractions is an international business, but I would think not having one of the largest regional chains purchasing your rides would have to be a huge oversight. I would be making extra effort to bring them back into a business relationship.
  5. Six Flags Investments Some notable items for 2026: Carowinds will introduce a record-breaking water ride Canada’s Wonderland will add a new record-breaking water attraction King's Island will introduce a new family thrill attraction Knott’s Soak City will receive a water park refresh and aesthetic enhancements Six Flags Magic Mountain will debut a first-of-its-kind coaster in North America Six Flags Great America will celebrate its 50th anniversary, debuting a new kids’ area, commemorative events and park enhancements Six Flags Great Adventure will unveil a record-breaking launch coaster Six Flags Over Texas will unleash a record-breaking dive coaster Six Flags Mexico will introduce a family thrill boomerang coaster So, as far as Kingda Ka, I have noticed that there is no mention of the removal of Zumanjaro. Now, that could mean it will still be announced or, it could also mean that it will also be a re-imagining similar to TT2. However, there's no saying that Zamperla would be the one to do so. Other manufacturers presented bids for TT2 as well, including Intamin. My wish is for Intamin to handle it and if successful, being re-considered for future attractions in the chain.
  6. And that is purely speculation on your part, with no evidence to back your claim.
  7. This coaster is not being built as some sort of appeasement for TT2. From what I understand, the hotels have been full and the park has been busy despite it being closed. Does anyone seriously think Cedar Point thought oh no! A few people on an online message board are upset about TT2, we better pull a new coaster out our you know where to make them happy!
  8. Actually, including the short lived TT2 opening, Cedar Point installed back to back to back coasters; i.e. Wild Mouse, TT2, and now Siren's Curse. I also cannot wait to see what is decided for The Vortex plot of land. I would not be mad to receive something similar to Alpen Fury at Canada's Wonderland.
  9. What I find kind of humorous is that a channel I watch, Theme Park Recommendations, originally predicted that Wildcat's Revenge was going to be re-named Twisted Twizzlers. This will be a great addition to Hersheypark. Seems I need to make a return trip since I haven't been there since before the new entrance and Candymonium.
  10. I think we should wait to see how Zamperla resolves said issue with TT2 before making any bold statement about their current or future relationship with the new SF/CF chain. It's not like TTD was Intamin's only problem when it comes to their rides. You had problems with Wicked Twister, Shoot the Rapids, and Maverick.
  11. I saw a video from an obvious Six Flags Great America fan, complaining about how this is a good coaster, but not a great one. I countered by saying that only enthusiasts would complain about a record breaking coaster and call it a mid coaster. I do know that many of their coasters are clones that can be found elsewhere. This looks very unique. What I found interesting is that the person who was sharing their opinion on YouTube contradicted themselves stating that they are fun, but they only like the drop and everything else after is very meh. I'm sorry, but how can it be fun and the only part you like is the drop? There is not a coaster in existence that I would consider fun due to only the drop. I would take the exact opposite stance. If I only like the drop, then it was not in fact a fun coaster. Personally, this makes me want to visit Great America for the 1st time. I have thought about it since I have not been to any Six Flags park.
  12. I think this appears to be a very fun coaster. I also support the new merged chain in using Intamin more moving forward.
  13. Well, CW's new coaster is not Zamperla, but a Premier launched. IMO, Kings Island could install one similar to it where the old Vortex plot is. I would not be mad. Before we complain about the 2 train ops, keep in mind that the ride time is fairly short and the pph would be around 1,000, which is what you would like to hit.
  14. Sure, but I'm willing to wager a new water park attraction/expansion will garner less attention than any flat ride addition. It sounds to me like that is exactly what is going on. It also seems to me that new water park additions are not going to be a huge draw from any kind of long distance customers. Yeah, they will advertise the new addition in those areas, but is that going to really be the reason anyone that hasn't visited in a year or 2, bring them back? I just don't see it. I could be wrong. I'm not privy to the internal numbers that their marketing department has. It just seems logical to me that water park additions just aren't going to be a huge draw.
  15. In all fairness, a new waterpark expansion/attraction is going to be far less headline grabbing than a new coaster. In your own statement, you mention how the new Adventure Port drew less attention than a new coaster. A new waterpark expansion/attraction is going to fall in line with that as well.
  16. Arguing over a water coaster... we have reached an all new low that I would never have imagined. This will be a homerun with the GP and I'd venture a guess that they know less about brand/types of water attractions than they do rollercoasters.
  17. Absolutely true. The projected capacity, is 1,000 pph, which is good.
  18. I'm kind of torn on 2 of those options. On the one hand, being a coaster enthusiast, I voted for the Gerstlauer infinity coaster. If plans for a new coaster were put on the back burner in place of Peanuts Interactive Dark Ride, I would not be disappointed, especially if it means a makeover for the Boo Blasters on Boo Hill ride.
  19. Could we possibly see a Premier launched multi-looping coaster in The Vortex plot? I wouldn't mind.
  20. I love how they decided to not only install a much needed water coaster, but they chose a dual-racing one. I really need to spend some time in Soak City. This might be the thing that brings me back to that side of the park.
  21. ^Actually, that is quite awesome. Family launched coasters are something needed throughout the chain, imho.
  22. I see this appears to be another Vekoma family boomerang, which should be a big hit with the little ones. I also like the concept art for the water attraction.
  23. My understanding is that their Backlot Stunt Coaster is also receiving a re-theme? Wonder if that will also be a jungle re-theme?

Spent a good portion of the day at Kings Island, one day after my 53rd birthday. I went with my 15 year old kid and his best friend. Interestingly enough, his friend had never been to an amusement park before. I started off my day riding Mystic Timbers, which really got the adrenaline pumping. I won't get into what rides I rode in great detail. I will just reveal a few details along the way. Every ride was practically a walk on, which made for a great day. Again, I'll just cover the highlights of my day. To start with, I did get a lap on Snoopy's Soapbox Racers. I was seated with 3 other people including their kid. As it turns out, these people were a lot of fun. I think KI knocked it out of the park with this addition to their good lineup of kids' coasters. I also found it funny that when we were going up the front spike, the kid though for sure we were going to go off the track, but that's coming from someone who looked to be no older than 8. I was pleasantly surprised that I managed 2 spins on Delirium as it was a one gondola wait. I don't ever recall seeing lines as they were yesterday. I managed to ride Banshee twice and I must say I was a little disappointed this year. I'm guessing I caught that coaster on a bad day because the vibration was unreal. Quite possibly could be that the wheels were worn thin, but had not been replaced yet. I have found that to be the case most any time I receive a bad ride on any coaster. Also, at 3:30pm, I began an Orion marathon for 1 hour. I managed to get 10 laps on it in that amount of time. I just love that coaster! On a personal note, any place on there that I know there is airtime, I put my legs straight out and I'm literally levitating above my seat for at least 3 full seconds. At 5:30, I decided to eat dinner. Anyone who has ever read any of my trip reports know that since I drive 3 hours away, I'm hitting up LaRosa's since I don't get there but once a year, if that. However, this year I was bound and determined to eat somewhere different. I chose the Cantina as it always just smells so delicious as you walk by there on your way to Adventure Express, Sol Spin, etc. Let me say, I really enjoyed eating a carnitas bowl for dinner. The food reminded me of being very similar to Chipoltle. I was actually full with about 1/3 of the bowl left, but I finished it off anyway. We wound up talking about meeting up at Diamondback for the last ride of the evening, since we were leaving at 8pm. His friend was really exhausted by the whole experience. I also don't see how he stood being in the 95 degree weather in jeans and a hoodie. We met up at the Diamondback plaza and it was closed at that moment, so we decided to take our customary last ride on The Beast. I mean, what is truly left to say about this legendary ride, other than to say that I've now been riding this coaster for 35 years. As we were driving home, I asked his friend what his favorite ride was. I was imagining he would say something like Diamondback, Orion, Flight of Fear or something along those lines. He revealed that his favorite was actually The Racer. I also came to the realization yesterday that I have been riding The Racer for the last 43 years. Hard to believe I am as old as Kings Island and that my mother brought me there in a stroller the year it opened. Overall, a great day was enjoyed by all.
  25. Looks like an area for a new flat ride. Rumors are the possibility of an S&S screamin' swing. Whatever ride they add, do you all think it will be Twizzlers themed? Is that sign a hint?
