Today, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Flight of Fear roller coaster was shut down after smoke was detected inside the ride. Kings Island emergency personnel responded quickly and guests were safely evacuated from the ride and returned to the park. Initial investigations indicate the smoke was caused by an overheated motor. As always, the safety of our guests and associates remains our number one priority.

No they have added extensive brake runs Wrong! The Beast has had brakes in the same locations along the 7,359-foot long course since it made its debut April 14, 1979. If the trim brakes that some want to complain about were not in place the ride isn't celebrating its 35th anniversary season. I see first time Beast riders every day. They're absolutely blown away by this ride!

Stop it! Posting bogus information like this forces the park to field unnecessary calls, emails, Facebook and Twitter messages.

The front row will be open for enthusiasts to ride during the event but if a member of the media needs to shoot a scene for a live hit or get reverse angle video, they would have the priority.

We are $16,000 away from reaching $100,000 raised for the "Scream for A Kid Again" event to be among the first night riders on our new record-breaking Banshee roller coaster Thursday, April 17. A big thank you to those on this site that have registered and have met the minimum of $100 raised to participate in this event. For those who are not able to participate, you can still help by donating to someone that is participating simply by clicking on their name in the list of fundraisers located at the bottom of the Scream for A Kid Again information page. Every dollar received for this event helps to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Fundraising for this event ends this Sunday at midnight. Diamondback will not be part of the early rides lineup this year.

We are having a fundraiser to be the first night riders, Scream for A Kid Again. As of today more than $75,000 has been raised for the Greater Cincinnati chapter of A Kid Again.

How much worse than last year could it get? Diamondback gave 1,861,093 rides last year which represents the most rides given in one year on the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Kings Island.

We pointed it out months ago the ride would have an adjustable trim in that area.
