Current wait times
Today is by far the lightest crowd I've seen so far this season. And the weather, while slightly cool, is beautiful. I walked on to the front row of The Beast around 11. I haven't encountered any waits longer than five minutes yet.

So what's up with this "power hour" crap on Banshee last night?
I generally won't hop on with another single except on DB on even rows (I don't ask, and don't expect others to ask: you're closer to the person in the odd row, if you don't want me sitting "next" to you, tough ), unless I'm assigned (which is rare, other than on Banshee). My personal policy is never to refuse if anyone asks to hop on with /me/, though. I usually don't mind riding with someone new, but I also like to give others their space if they want it. I can't understand why someone would give you a dirty look for waiting for front seat for Beast as a single, unless they wanted to hop on with you and you refused or something. It's no different to them than a pair of people waiting for it. I think I'm more intimidating to children than adults, if I were to go by who I've ended up riding with.

Beast Behind the Scenes Tweet
Apparently. If you're going to be there, feel free to say "hi!" I'll be the woman in her late 30s in cargo shorts, two pigtails, and rainbow colored tie-dye shoes. I had a thought earlier today that this may include kids from the math and science days, and be higher attendance than I initially expected. Although, I think by 4 most of them are leaving already.

Guests Say The Darnest Things
When we were sitting in the brake run, a couple next to me in the back row of Banshee were discussing the baseball cap that didn't stay on the man's head through the ride (his "good hat" apparently). Surprisingly, the woman's did, but she was on the inside seat so I guess that helped. "I wonder if they'll let me walk back there and look for it?"

Souvenir cup questions
I've just been keeping track of the number of times I use it. I'm already up to a dozen, meaning I've paid it off and then some, even using my personal metric of "what would I be willing to pay?" of about $10 per meal. Not that I ate meals in the park more than a handful of times last season when I didn't have the plan. I have been staying longer at the park and spending more on other things during that time than I did when I didn't have the plan, though.

There's one at Goats on the Roof, too.

Current wait times
I'm not at the park today (my husband changed his mind about taking advantage of the $15 ticket), but I've seen others on Facebook saying it actually isn't that bad.

Current wait times
Why I don't/wouldn't use an app: To learn wait times: If I want to know the wait for something, I use my feet. Exercise is a part of the reason I go to KI as often as I do, and as I've mentioned elsewhere, if I make an effort I can walk from any part of the dry park to nearly any other part in five minutes or less. To report wait times: There's no way of knowing if someone else is actually using the data that day. So, I don't get the feeling my efforts are appreciated, either directly or indirectly. Reporting isn't fun for the mere sake of reporting. It can feel like my efforts are either wasted or I'm being taken advantage of. It's a bit of a bother to keep track of times, but I am very willing if I'm at the park and someone specifically wants to know. I also tend to post here if the wait times differ significantly from what I expect for such a day/time, or if a ride is unexpectedly down. It's also a good place to note general factors that change the park attendance, like the choir festival that is apparently happening this weekend. In general: Just an accounting of rides and their wait times isn't interesting to me, either as a user or reporter. This thread, on the other hand, is one of my favorites.

So what's up with this "power hour" crap on Banshee last night?
I want to know what the deal is with stapling this year. Last year, I don't think it happened to me more than once or twice in dozens of park visits. Friday, I got stapled three times, on three different rides (DT, AE, and Delirium) within the same half hour. The worst was Delirium because as I was sitting there losing circulation in my legs all I could think of was the moment before the ride begins when the restraints tighten more. Fortunately (?) when there is already resistance apparently they don't tighten further. There is no reason to use one's entire weight and/or strength to set restraints, especially when the restraints are clicked enough to lock already. Pushing until some resistance is met is plenty. The young man on AE who stapled me apparently is chronic about it because when I rode again, I switched sides, but the woman sitting on his side behind me got stapled by him instead.

According to the event flyer, yes, we will be receiving event t-shirts.

Coasterstock at Kings Island
Of course, the second option is looking like a possibility on the current forecast. Dang it!

You can also use the app Tapatalk to access the forums and post images directly. That's what I do rather than upload them somewhere else.

Even if it gets slow or sometimes cuts out, I am enjoying the new wifi too. It is crazy how much better my battery lasts with airplane mode on. Once Cirque Imagine starts up and I'm regularly sitting in the theater for a half hour messing around on my phone will be the real test, though. I hope the wifi works well in there.

The big gate in the fence to the right of the entrance to Beast, I would assume. The one they opened for access to the new Slaughterhouse. At least that was where we started for the one I've been on (which coincided with the beginning of construction on the new Slaughterhouse).

Beast Behind the Scenes Tweet
Thanks for pointing out that the 12th is Tuesday, not Monday like I was thinking. I was setting myself up for a big disappointment when I showed up at Beast's front door on Monday at 4. Gives me a better recovery time from my 12 hours at the park yesterday, too. Even though I went on a tour last summer at the CC Banshee Bash, and I believe there is one included in next weekend's Coasterstock, I think this one being subtly advertised and on a random Tuesday, will be lower attended and thus more intimate. Even if I'm wrong about that, I just can't get enough about The Beast.

Bring a Friend for $14.99 (Gold and Platinum Pass Holders) Father's Day, June 21st
I haven't encountered one that doesn't (although, if something is already discounted it typically won't work, so at the Everything's Under $10 discount store at the entrance to Coney Mall it often won't give you a further discount). If I were to make a guess, the franchise stores like Auntie Anne's would be the most likely not to offer a discount.

Banshee looks like 20 min. Bat is a walk on. I'll update as I walk around some more.

Best Seats on Coasters
Yeah, that and rear seat were my previous faves. But with a headache today I can really appreciate 14.

Best Seats on Coasters
I tried out 7-1 on Vortex and have a new favorite seat on it. Also, I discovered a new favorite on Beast. Row 14, the center row of the second to last car. Nearly all of the intensity of the back, but much smoother and less bruising. It's like riding on a cushion of air.

Diamondback was also 15-20 min around 3:00. Haven't rode Banshee since the noon hour but it was a station wait at that time.

I've been here since opening today. Lines aren't too bad. Waiting for Beast at the moment, looks to be 15-20 min. WindSeeker was a practical walk-on.
