2014 Haunt Question
Both Blue and Magenta are female. I always liked that the only way to tell Blue was a girl dog was the pronouns used, they didn't feel the need to add a bow or eyelashes to "mark" her as female.

2014 Haunt Question
If he were talking about Skeleton Crew, why would he say "little was known" (people have seen it at CP, and I believe it is where we lost some of our Cirque performers to this fall) or feel the need to be cryptic? If he was talking about a show, presumably that would be in the theater, not a different previous haunt's location? *shakes fist* darn you cryptic Terpy!

2014 Haunt Question
The Interpreter is definitely talking about Skeleton KEY. There is a rumor that such a thing as the version they had at Knotts is coming to Kings Island this year. From what I've heard, I'd be more surprised if KI doesn't have a Skeleton Key.

2015 Season Passes
Thanks for calling them, though. I'm glad to hear they're just missing from the site, not cancelled altogether. Can the meal plan be paid in installments along with the pass?

2015 Season Passes
Total price is the same tho, either as a single payment or in installments.

Carowinds will be investing $50 million in the next three years!
Anyone able to see it? All I saw was a band playing, then just as someone seemed to be getting the mike ready, I got a message the content was unavailable online :-/

2015 Season Passes
Thanks Don! Since I'm a bit of a morning person, I guess I shouldn't have too much trouble using mine. Two related questions: Has the limitation on how many Fast Lanes will be sold ever been publicized (and is it different for Fast Lane vs Fast Lane Plus)? I heard something like 10% of projected attendance. That's not bad. Is there ERT for passholders during Haunt?

2015 Season Passes
At the moment, Season Long Dining can't be bought at all through the KI website. I expect it will be added back at some point, possibly with the platinum (all parks) version as well. Unless they aren't going to have it next year. Which would be a shame, because not having it this year sold me on the idea of adding it next year. I was going to renew my pass right away today, but now I'm waiting for the ability to add the dining, or official word it isn't coming back.

Kings Island Pass Renewal Deal
Deleted because I'm apparently an idiot who forgot the existence of October :-/ Adds a few more possible days to use the Fast Lane than I was thinking tho! Bonus!

2015 Season Passes
Oh interesting. In addition to the free Fast Lane to be used on Sundays for renewers, they are also going to offer $15 bring-a-friend on Sundays at the end of the season (Sept 21-Nov 2). The clear indication is that we might want to buy Fast Lanes for our friends we bring. Now I see where the profit-potential of the offer comes from. Not a bad idea, and I would be likely to take advantage of the possibility (if the only person I'd want to take to the park, my husband, actually liked coasters). Although, it only being three weekends that the two offers (free Fast Lane and $15 BAF), I'm a little worried that the fears of Fast Lanes being longer than regular may turn out to be founded.

2015 Season Passes
I wonder if I add the dining plan when I renew if it can be used the rest of this season? I would guess probably not, but if it were, it would encourage my adding it without a second thought.

Current wait times
Lines and crowds are still minimal, just rode AE twice on trains with only 3 people. Haven't ridden a "big" ride for awhile, but there just don't seem to be many people here at all so far today. Maybe after school lets out today it will pick up. Edited: 3:00, and I've encountered the first line of any significance all day: RFYLCB. It is hot, but the line for WWC was nearly nonexistent. I guess people only want a little wet. 4:00 the line for Diamondback is on the stairs. Exceptionally light crowds today.

Current wait times
Crowds still light so far. Just rode Diamondback 3 times with no wait. Not a very fast crew either.
-
Current wait times
Crowds are a lot lighter than I expected for the only weekday they aren't calling for storms during the last week of weekday operation, with the $15 bring-a-friend. Five minutes before opening and there are around 75-100 people waiting for the gates (usually it is at least twice this on a weekday). Guess more kids have gone back to school. First time I've seen the security checkpoint this season.

Kings Island Pass Renewal Deal
I would be a little surprised if they don't end up making the Fast Lane Plus perk good for any Sunday, including the 2015 season. I think it would make the most sense for them to spread it out, monetarily. As for me, I'm good either way. My Gold Pass renewal is already guaranteed, regardless of additional perks (but they are always appreciated!). Being able to come and go at the park at my whim for an entire season is way more than worth the price of a pass. I'm even strongly considering adding the meal plan this year.

Kings Island Pass Renewal Deal
I wanted to note, the free Fast Lane Plus pass is for all renewals by November 2 according to Twitter (these postings came right after the original KI tweet mentioning the pass): @alexshell28: @KingsIslandPR do you have to buy it on thursday or any day during the offseason http://twitter.com/alexshell28/status/501501243886297088 @KingsIslandPR: @alexshell28 Before the season ends November 2. http://twitter.com/kingsislandpr/status/501534462308794369

Ice Bucket Challenge
I think it's pretty amazing that charity donations have gone viral. The only downside I see is that the response has been so massive every charity (and for-profit) is going to be trying to come up with as effective of an "infection" soon.

"Cirque Imagine" at Kings Island!
So far in the first two shows, they haven't strayed far from the script. First show, Philip rode the tricycle along the back of the stage during the rope act. Second show, "Nico" ran the same line yelling and waving his arms over his head while the other clowns were being threatened by Trevor on the bike. Also, Philip stripped off his jacket and swung it Chippendales style over his head when imitating Trevor. I think they'll do something crazy in the last show and I'm looking forward to seeing what it is. Edited to add: Trevor came out on his bike in front of the theater and jumped over a couple park employees before they opened the doors.

"Cirque Imagine" at Kings Island!
The clowns came up with something new for their audience participation bit of tonight's 7:00 show. There was a man wearing sandals in the front row, who I dearly hope is either friends with the performers or involved in the production. First, Josh took one of the shoes off the man's foot, and winged it at Philip as he dangled from his rope over the stage. The sandal landed on the stage near the side (later in the show one of the clowns shoved it farther offstage out of the way). Then Carl (Nico) grabbed the man's other sandal off his foot, and absconded with it through the door next to the stage. The guy went through the show barefoot, then during the final bows, when everyone rushes back through the center hole, several rushed off the front of the stage, picked the man up, and transported him onstage. They then proceeded to hand him the flowers, and all ran back offstage because the music was over. The guy sat down with the flowers a bit, still barefoot, looking a little mystified. He climbed up onstage to look for the one shoe that had been shoved backstage, but didn't find it. Last I saw, he went through the "authorized personnel only" door next to the stage. I waited around a bit to see if he ever got his shoes but the theater was pretty much cleared out so I left. If he was a regular audience member, he's a darned good sport.
