  1. Beast has some of the extra queue off to the left open, Diamondback's queue is nearly all full, so probably 45min-1hr wait for those. The Racer is still like 5 minutes.
  2. I won't vote because I can't possibly choose a favorite. I came to the realization watching the show yesterday just how much of a machine Trevor Bodogh is, though. From the very first time I saw him, for absolutely every performance, he has shown the same high degree of skill, talent, energy, enthusiasm, and humor (one of my favorite things in his act is his subtle humor). He always looks like he is enjoying it as much as the first time, and that is contagious. I'm waiting right now for my first viewing from the front row, I'm looking forward to it!
  3. I finally overcame my sports anxiety and kicked a ball to fight cancer. When I was registering, the young woman at the registration table noticed my nails and when I told her why I did them she said "Don needs to see these!" Haven't seen him in the park at all today tho, and still nothing unusual going on at The Racer. Consistently a five minute or less wait. I've found a renewed appreciation for the little coaster as much as I've ridden the past three days.
  4. Will do. I'm waiting for Diamondback at the moment but when I get back over, I'll update if anything is new. Finally standing in line long enough to bother taking my phone out of the hard case to take a pic of my nails. Edited: 12:40, they're running both trains now, line is just to the entrance with no extra queues open, so five minute approximate wait.
  5. Love that pic Don't worry, I'll let you know if I see any suspected bean counter or PR monkeys hanging around. So far they aren't even running blue yet today. Don't know if it's usual for this time of day/week or an attempt to control when the ride happens.
  6. I'm more excited for this milestone than a middle aged woman probably should be. Ah, well, The Racer is older than me. I slept little enough last night I had time to do custom nails this morning to celebrate. Right hand in red, left in blue, one letter of "RACER" on each finger of each hand in silver. I hope it happens today. I don't care if I win, I just want to be here for such an amazing coaster milestone.
  7. If you're riding The Beast over and over, you're clearly not among people coming only for the new record-breakers I wasn't referring to people who are exclusively into thrill rides, because those will visit KI again and again, but to people who seem to think that record-breaking and new trumps ride experience. The Beast is some of my best proof that it doesn't have to be new to be excellent. I guess I fear losing any more good coasters because they're not new or groundbreaking enough to seem special enough to overcome costs of maintenance issues. I already fear for some of the ones at KI, one in particular. I don't want to see them razed so something bigger but not necessarily better can take their place. I also don't want to see the park become so focused on thrills (even though they are my favorite, too), that their family base becomes alienated from having too few things to do.
  8. I don't just like intermediate, or even prefer them (beyond their being good coasters for creating future coaster lovers). Really, I love them all. Diamondback and Banshee are two of my absolute favorites. I wouldn't say no to another huge record-breaker, I just think shouldn't be the only goal. If the park started catering exclusively to enthusiasts, they would go under really fast. People who only come for the new, the record-breakers, are going to get bored and move on the moment something newer and superlative came around.
  9. Well, it's a station wait if anyone wants to come do some last minute marathoning
  10. I'm taking a Cirque break now, but so far I haven't seen anything (or anyone) official looking at The Racer. I've been enjoying riding it though! The most interesting thing I've seen so far was before my first ride today, three (young) employees were intently looking over a few clipboards of what I believe were tally sheets. I think it was a shift changeover, because when they were done, a couple of them left. I got excited for a bit when a woman in a blouse and an employee name tag appeared to be approaching The Racer, but she went into the storage shed between the entrance and the basketball game there, instead.
  11. Just because a coaster is new (or record breaking for that matter) doesn't make it better. Just because a coaster is older (or milder) doesn't make it worse. I wouldn't want a new coaster each year, and I love coasters.
  12. I would have to say, the crowds do seem lower today than yesterday, probably for rain. The craziness with the lines for Cirque seems to have slacked off since yesterday. There are only about 25 people lined up on each side waiting for the 6:30 door open. Hopefully it opens on time today.
  13. I can warn you it was fairly cool weather yesterday but it didn't seem to keep people away. Except the waterpark, that was fairly deserted.
  14. Just got here, parking lot looks 2/3-3/4 full. A lot of people are leaving now too, though. Delirium is a nearly fully packed queue, I'd estimate 1 1/2 hours Banshee has a weird pre-queue line I can only assume resulted from it just opening back up after the rains. Probably less than 20 minute wait-worth of people tho. Drop Tower is closed. I'd estimate AE at 10-15 minutes. Racer's line is out to its entrance but only because none of the extra queues are open. Less than 10 minutes since both trains are running. I'm in line for it. Also, my husband was looking at the radar and warns me more rains look to be coming.
  15. I can let you know in a half hour when I get there, but the rains that blew through may have thinned out the crowds some.
  16. You're killing me Don! Guess I'm going back to the park today. Gonna get me in shape going every day like this.
  17. Within a few days: https://twitter.com/kingsislandpr/status/494531678678052864
  18. They're in the unfortunate situation that any information they release, especially if the current intention is to bring back the ride, will be taken by park goers as a "promise." If things change later, due to a change in decisions or through no fault of their own, there will be complaints that they lied or went back on their word. If they say nothing, sure people will be annoyed at the silence, but it leaves them free to continue to make their decisions unfettered by predictions they made before they knew all the facts. I understand very much why the standard response in these things is no response. What you don't say can't come back to haunt you.
  19. As I was leaving after the 5:00 show today, I saw Sam Aylestock, who had been a part of the audience too. He was talking to another audience member who recognized him, and raised the ballcap he was wearing to show his hair is still red, although obviously he wasn't in makeup. I am hoping the hair means that he will be returning to the show yet this season. If that happens, though, I'm also hoping it will mean five clowns, because I would hate to lose any of the current ones, either. In addition to the fondness I have for the ones who have been around for awhile, I've been enjoying the energy the newest addition has been bringing to the show. And it was a real delight to watch him on the trampoline again today.
  20. The ones at Old Navy were mostly button closure. I had originally planned to add zippers, but they've proven pretty secure so I haven't bothered.
  21. The LED sign out front still listed it as closed today. I didn't look when I went by the ride location though.
  22. In my experience, airtime on Diamondback is best in the fourth and fifth car, rows 7-10.
  23. They're delaying opening the doors for the 5 showing of Cirque too, but this time we're being serenaded by the excellent KI Five so I don't mind!
  24. Banshee 15 minutes, Racer is about half what it was earlier, so it will probably be less than 10 minutes. Although I've seen him a couple times so far today, no Don by The Racers yet
  25. I got mine in Old Navy's men's section. I don't know what their selection is like this late in the season but they had quite a few styles earlier. I also saw some at Target I liked, but decided two pairs in different fabrics was probably enough for the summer and didn't buy them.
