  1. It appears there are more triangular supports ready to install. Edit: Then again, after looking at the layout, there shouldn't be any of that size left. From here on out, the supports get bigger and bigger..
  2. There are (at least) two supports currently installed that we can see behind the transfer shed, but I suspect all of them are installed back there.
  3. The problem is that there are supports installed behind the transfer shed, so we can't see from this angle. Really wish we had some aerial photos to see what is currently going on back there. I'm assuming all of those supports are installed already, though.
  4. Agreed. I think that wave turn on Orion will be just as exhilarating, if not more so than the zero-G roll on Banshee.
  5. Really hoping we get some more track up today. It looks like they are already super-busy this morning. Is the user that used to do the Banshee track/support graphic updates still here at the site? I used to love those. Wish we had something like this for Orion. Looks like the user was @davidw
  6. It looks like they're about to assemble the turnaround track now.
  7. They've added something to it for sure. That makes more sense than what I thought (that they had wrapped it in something)
  8. I get that, but for the last 4 days, the booms have been lowered at night, like clockwork, just before leaving for the day. But not today.
  9. It appears they are about to hoist the track piece that's been on the ground for the last couple of days into its spot. But then again, we thought that yesterday too. LOL Edit: I guess it's not happening today. It appears they're all leaving for the day. Although I guess I thought they always retracted the booms on the cranes when they leave for the day, and they haven't yet. Who knows.
  10. ^ Orion's lift hill should be approximately 3.25X the height of The Racer's lift hills. According to Wikipedia (I know, I know), Flight of Fear's main building is 110 feet tall, so Orion should appear 2.6 times taller than it. This is probably pretty close.
  11. Yep, it'd be the opposite. Diamondback would look 31 feet shorter than Orion from the top of Orion's lift hill.
  12. So I played around with an elevation finder site (not sure how accurate it is), and I got the following sea level elevations for various locations in the park: Eiffel Tower: 751.3 feet Orion Station: 738.2 feet (I believe the blueprints said 740? So very close..) Directly below Orion lift hill: 728.3 feet Directly below Diamondback lift hill: 754.6 feet So with Diamondback's lift hill (230 feet) sitting on ground 26 feet taller than Orion's (287 feet tall), Orion should "appear" to be about 31 feet taller than Diamondback from somewhere such as the Eiffel Tower's observation deck. It should be fairly noticeable, but not a huge difference. Or another way to put it: From the top of Diamondback's lift hill, looking straight over to Orion's lift hill, Orion should appear 31 feet taller.
  13. The track on the ground definitely appears to be wrapped in something.
  14. And the Eiffel Tower also sits at a higher elevation than where Orion will sit. The top of the Eiffel Tower will still be noticeably taller than Orion's lift hill.
  15. Is that track that's sitting on the ground next to/below the transfer table wrapped in something? It looks...white or something. Unless that's just the color in glare from the sun..
  16. So I just realized that Orion is close enough to be the only roller coaster in KI with a view of the Little Miami. I think you SHOULD be able to see it from the top of the lift hill, right?
  17. It was moved several months ago, and there was a photo posted in one of the threads of it sitting on a trailer in a subdivision somewhere. We have no idea where it is now.
  18. I believe you're right. I think they're about to lift the transfer section of track into place. It looks like they're finishing up the transfer table, and the supports are all ready to go to hold the track. BTW, do you guys see how big that support is on the trailer? Massive! They're starting to get the lift hill supports in.
  19. Who knows, honestly. We'll see how much sway the term "giga" still holds these days. Leviathan finished 3rd for Best New Ride in 2012, and this ride will be very similar to it.
  20. Probably fairly high, as RMC Gwazi is going in. That thing looks SICK.
  21. Yep, they placed that piece there Saturday. But I think you're right - it'll probably go up sometime today as they just installed the support that piece will rest on.
  22. Another support is going in now - it looks like the one immediately to the left of the support for the already-installed track.
  23. It looks like they've already got quite a bit of work done this morning on the transfer table. More LONG supports are arriving now (8:26 AM)
