  1. Sweet, that leaves more for the rest of us! (JK, he blocked me after I DM'd him about the 'Dots hookup.)
  2. DM him and he'll hook you up, he knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows how to get some Dippin' Dots?
  3. He's the public face of the park. He has social media accounts with his name and workplace, therefore inherently representing the park via those channels. What you'd generally see is a separate (typically private) account that doesn't represent the employer and is only used for close personal connections. Further, as you note, he chooses to interact with guests on there, having made it known that he represents the park via said accounts. If you're going to be interactive and respond to guest inquiries, then you ought to simply respond and answer their question. Ask for clarification, ask for time to consult with your team if you don't already have the answer, and respond helpfully, or at least with PR spin. Not whatever he does.
  4. That's exactly what it means. Or, I want to make it look like I'm willing to discuss your concern, but in a way that nobody can tell that I'm really just blowing you off. Seen that too many times. If someone has a concern that requires some discretion or privacy, sure, take it into a private conversation. Otherwise, just answer the question, even if it's just PR spin that doesn't really address the concern.. Looks better that way, anyway.
  5. They're not really back on-site unless they ever left Cedar Point property. Instead, they've just been moved around for inspection and storage so far, if not cannibalization for parts.
  6. The train involved in the incident was the only one that got bad enough to break loose but all trains had been cycled that day (1 got pulled off for the day after morning inspections, each day, generally rotating) and all showed signs of impact damage. Also keep in mind that lighter trains, if available from the unspecified manufacturer, would require less energy to launch, which means fewer LSMs needed, down sized electrical shed and power bill, etc. Over the long term, that further erodes any cost benefit of reusing the existing trains. Millennial Force, you say? I can't even.... come up with a good response to that. As for Millennium Force, if anything, shared components means that the TTD 1.0 cars now become spare parts for MF.
  7. Damage to the trains is, by definition, something wrong with them. As is their connection to the catalyst for the extreme makeover, roller coaster edition. Further, the complexity of the off season maintenance led CP to get INTAMIN to agree to a limited overhaul program for 2020-21, which may have factored into the tragic incident. They would also need to be modified to support the new launch. By the time you do that and modify them enough that guests don’t say, hey wait, that’s Dragster trains, are you better off investing in new modem trains, given the intended lifespan of the new-ish ride? How does the complexity (in terms of maintenance) of modern INTAMIN, Zamperla, even B&M trains compare to TTD 1.0’s trains?
  8. There isn’t? This whole thread began after one shedded a hefty chunk of steel and projected it at a guest waiting in the queue… Further, the trains are >20 years old and potentially from a different manufacturer than the one working on this project. Plus, technology and train design has advanced over that time.
  9. Yeah. Tony knows what he's doing. He'll tease and troll and mess with us a lot but won't let anything slip until he's good and ready. Nonetheless, many like to eat it up and look for hidden messages that are almost never there. Unlike some other parks' communications departments that don't seem to know what to do... There are hints toward Zamperla involvement in TTD 2.0 but the tags on the crates at the staging lot are not them. The recent ride installations and the shipping containers passing through ports in Italy, those are a couple examples of circumstantial evidence pointing toward Zamperla. What's interesting is that this is an INTAMIN ride apparently being modified to include an element/launch style that INTAMIN seems particularly fond of lately, but may well not have any INTAMIN involvement. But alas, all will (hopefully) be unveiled soon enough.
  10. Just forgot all about it as it seemed like more vaporware from Saudi Arabia until they started construction, that's all.
  11. Also interesting that only one of the visible cars is tarped over...
  12. So long as it's a launched flyer! ;)
  13. Ah right. Forgot about that one, the fact that supposedly they're actually building it, and that it was an INTAMIN project. And RCDB has not listed it. Definitely doesn't look like the track I'd expect to see for TTD 2.0, though they could always surprise us.
  14. You're not suggesting they will reuse the same trains, are you? Seems incredibly unlikely.
  15. No, all he said was "this proves nothing". The staging lot next to Cedar Point's Express Hotel, formerly Breakers Express, has been used for a long time. My first awareness of the existence of the lot was when Maverick's steel started to show up over there. Surely it was used for Wild Mouse as well. What is essentially crates were spotted in that lot, with tags/shipped labels indicating they came from Zamperla. They were also dated last year, when Zamperla would've been producing/shipping Wild Mouse components. Also in that lot are various other things such as benches from outside the station and the flags from atop the station roof. Now, everything so far being shipped through Italy is interesting. Also interesting is what appears to be white (AKA TTD 2.0 color) double-spine INTAMIN track at the Stakotra factory as of last month. Unfortunately, RCDB doesn't have much info on 2024's INTAMIN projects to eliminate it as being for another ride. https://goo.gl/maps/ikPJsRArqyyUKehS6
  16. Preliminary evidence indicates that's likely the whole reason behind this project. New control and mechanical systems, new solid state launch technology, new trains. Safer, more reliable, more efficient, higher realized capacity. Keep that in mind and you won't be disappointed with what they have to announce. Imagine Wicked Twister grafted onto Top Thrill Dragster, but safer and more reliable than both of those. It most assuredly won't compare with TTD 1.0 on acceleration. Details TBA.
  17. Is the team responsible for FunTV content around any longer?
  18. Well, yeah, it's so fast that by the time you walk over to it, it's already over and gone. Which ride in the park is faster than that??
  19. 2024 Canada's Wonderland Platinum equivalent, fall pricing -- $99 gold + $85 parking + $100 passport == $284 CAD total ($280 as a renewal) $6 less than the current $290 CAD platinum, but more than last year's fall platinum pricing.
  20. General consensus was that there was nearly a crash but it was avoided. See:
  21. To answer my own question, looks like all parks are going to this new scheme. https://www.cagreatamerica.com/blog/2023/introducing-the-all-park-passport https://www.canadaswonderland.com/blog/2023/july/introducing-the-all-park-passport https://www.carowinds.com/blog/2023/introducing-the-all-park-passport https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog/2023/introducing-the-all-park-passport https://www.kingsdominion.com/blog/2023/introducing-the-all-park-passport https://www.miadventure.com/blog/2023/introducing-the-all-park-passport https://www.worldsoffun.com/blog/2023/introducing-the-all-park-passport Dorney, Knott's, KI, and Valleyfair! don't have the blog post live at this time. And despite not being mentioned on the blog post, Canada's Wonderland has Prestige loaded into Accesso... Not officially available, though.
  22. The sunbeam cutting across the forehead adds so many style points to an excellent post.
  23. Cedar Point Shores and Knott's Soak City are included with a 2023 Platinum Pass. "Passport" is said to be effectively the same thing as the all outdoor ride/waterparks feature of Platinum. If it indeed is the replacement Tony's blog makes it out to be, then anywhere you can use a Platinum Pass this year, you can use your Passport add-on next year. SCarowinds is not a separately ticketed attraction; it's included in 2023 Gold/Platinum/Prestige at Carowinds. It's not any different than Halloweekends at CP or Haunt at KI. Knott's Scary Farm is a separately ticketed attraction, not included in any KBF pass except the standalone KSF one. No reason to expect it to be included in "Passport". Another question with this whole confusing mess is how non-Prestige parks will handle their 2024 pass lineup. Are they going to have to make this change when there isn't even a "Prestige" pass to justify it? Or will Platinum continue to exist at all but 3 parks?
  24. That's your response, that I need to prove my interpretations and anecdotal evidence? Ohh kayyyy then. Well, here goes. Source: me. I wrote those words.
