  1. It's a bit of an open secret. You wouldn't be the first person to buy a Canada's Wonderland Platinum Pass. Prices listed are in CAD, but keep in mind that a US credit/debit card will be hit with whatever your Foreign Transaction Fee is (generally 0-3%). Taxes are higher there, but there's also the exchange rate...
  2. Not sure I understand. There's no need for an invitation. Prestige is available for new and renewing pass holders. I even got a push notification from KI on my iPhone telling me about it, though I don't have a KI pass (technically, mine is Canadian, originally purchased in fall 2019...). You've got the link in the OP. If you want to renew into Prestige+, just enter your pass # and phone number, and it'll take you from there. You answered your own question. It shouldn't be this hard for corporate to have a meeting where these things are determined. Standard copy would then be provided to all parks for consistency, with small tweaks where appropriate (things like one-time front-of-line vs. FLP, referring to Cedar Point Shores vs. Soak City or what have you, etc.). But a lot of text put out from the parks, even for the same exact thing, is different. If it feels like there's a lack of communication externally, one wonders what it's like inside CFEC corporate and parks marketing departments...
  3. CP claims that Prestige+ will act as a Gold Pass at other parks, not the full line of Prestige+ benefits. Basically, should be treated more like Platinum with some added benefits at your home park. https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog/2022/guide-to-2023-season-passes
  4. And yet, this year, they brought in a summer-only pass at the $99 price point, raising Gold. Now, they're back to giving away Gold at $99.
  5. No need for beliefs. It's clearly stated. Only Platinum and Prestige(+) get Early Entry at Cedar Point and Cedar Point Shores. https://www.cedarpoint.com/season-passes
  6. Who are the Frontier and JetBlue of theme parks that are coming to fight over the Spirit of theme parks?
  7. Per the online store, all Prestige Pass purchases at KI 8/4-8/14 get 1 free fall FLP with the blackout dates as shown. Free FLP is an introductory bonus for the launch of Prestige. Beyond that, a new pass includes the rest of this season. Since a renewing pass holder doesn't need that, they provide 1 BAF ticket. Two separate things, so, yes, you get both. New Prestige Pass by 8/14 gets 1x FLP and admission/parking/etc the rest of this year. Renew into Prestige by 8/14 to get 1x FLP and 1x BAF.
  8. Not necessarily just the wealth level of the unruly guests, but also requiring them to put up more money. The theory would be the more you spend on the experience, the more likely you are to behave yourself because you're more invested in the visit/season. How much of an impact that would really have, I dunno.
  9. Again, wording and consistency aren't exactly Cedar Fair's strong suit, as you pointed out. A lot of things they point out require one to either reach out for clarification, or wait and see. In this case, all we know is that 10 unnamed parks (all but 2) will offer at least Tricks and Treats. Some will also offer Haunt. No reason to suspect a park would only offer Haunt but not Tricks and Treats, though anything is possible. What the press release didn't specify is which parks will offer the full experience. As to why, we could speculate all night. Maybe it's too many parks to name. Maybe not all parks have their plans set and so they want to wait to make those announcements later. Winterfest is more of a general event that has been successful at those parks in the past, and so it's easy to say they'll all bring it back. What's for sure is that until the costs of Haunt outweigh the benefits, they would be foolish to give that money up. Especially if the alternative would be to use some of the huge profits toward increased security before cancelling the event. They can always increase pricing to decrease demand if they wanted to, to see what impact that has on unruly guests...
  10. And why wouldn't you read it as follows? "Tricks and Treats is sure to appeal to those looking for some frightful family fun" and "Halloween Haunt is sure to appeal to those looking for a good scare". Because both of those sections use the word "or". It implies there are options depending on what you're looking for. Why would they advertise that they might cater to one group or the other but not necessarily both?
  11. Or it's Tony & co messing with you. Not that they would ever do something like that...
  12. Ah, yes. The season will end! With the park open after the date the season supposedly ends! So KI is going to be open when it's closed?
  13. Per the FAQ: Perks like preferred parking and the front of line/one-time-use FLP may vary by park. Sounds like each park should give you that park's perks, not your home park. And not just your home park that gives you the perks. Passes purchased at one park should be able to be activated at any park and perhaps online still (they started that during the pandemic...). Don't expect the bring-a-friend tickets or the promo fall FLP to work at another park, but it sounds like Platinum where all the other perks are available at every park that offers them.
  14. Personally, I wish this tragic incident had never occurred and the ride was still open. As for Cedar Fair, everything we know would indicate they wish the tragic incident never occurred because the ride was never built. Might sound negative myself, but Cedar Fair has given no reason to believe that the ride will ever reopen. They unequivocally came out and announced point blank that the ride will not open in 2022. They could've reopened it if they wanted to, unless we're to believe ODA and the park still have not settled on a path to reopening. And the ride was always on thin ice with management. Then, self-insured Cedar Fair got hit with the financial implications of the incident. If you were running Cedar Fair as a business, would you want the liability on top of the ongoing high maintenance costs, for what's now almost 20 years old? This year would've been its 20th season. All this is to say that it's best not to get anyone's hopes up on the idea of the ride reopening. The markings do not definitively prove anything. They do add to the circumstantial evidence pointing toward its imminent removal. I say all this as someone who, if there were a thorough, transparent review into the ride a-la NTSB air crash investigations, where we could be sure that the same thing would never happen again, I would happily marathon TTD again. Just don't expect to get the chance.
  15. That's exactly what it means, exact timing to be clarified by the park(s).
  16. This is not a thing. It's enthusiast fantasy. Read the thread.
  17. If new rides didn't draw crowds, CFEC wouldn't spend the money. Some of us enjoy the parks as they are so we'll continue to go so long as they keep the park maintained and put in new things to do every so often.
  18. Your post clearly stated that they should do this and implied they aren't... I pointed out that they are doing it, just like they have for years. What part of that was unclear? It's obviously an oversight, again, would be best to let @DonHelbig or someone else at the park know. The main page (not the Accesso store) does indicate early buyers (by August 14) get one free FLP to use on eligible dates this year. You'd need admission for that to be useful... So just put the text about including the rest of 2022 on the top of the list with the FLP promo to make it stand out.
  19. Not really sure the point of the smug reply. That's the only conclusion that can be drawn. There have been times in the past where utility markings were spotted far away from any work that we were made aware of. The future looks bleak for Top Thrill Dragster, but utility markings, lifts moving around, and power to the lights on the tower aren't the definitive source on that.
  20. Preferred Parking is a limited quantity item that is on a space-available basis. It could well fill up with guests who paid the full rate at the toll plaza. It's not a guarantee. It's like a hotel loyalty program that grants a room upgrade upon availability. Or a rental car rate with upgrade upon availability. Get there when it's not available? You just get the standard offering you reserved (in this case, general parking). You also are addressing that at me personally, even though I'm not likely to go with a 2023 Prestige+ Pass, and intentionally park farther away from most places for personal reasons. CP was giving its lounges away during CP 150 and you'd still be hard-pressed to see them in use. Personally, there's little value in that anyway when equipped with all-season dining and drinks, and a smartphone battery that lasts me through the day. No need to lounge around in one location. The lounge could also fill up with guests who pay the daily rate for all anyone knows. But guess what? They don't expect that, because the lounges have generally been highly under-utilized. Unless you've been to KI this year and seen theirs packed already. It is indeed doomsaying to profess that the worst case scenario will happen. What even is with all this straw man nonsense from you? You seem to think that I think CFEC is infallible and will never listen to feedback anyway. Like, what? All-season dining initially had a 2-hour interval between meals. They went to 4. Some complained, but the reality is that's reasonable for one person redeeming both meals (even if it could come in handy on shorter visits to take the second to go). Then, they wanted to change up the terms of the program, not only after selling passes with the 4-hour window, but early in the year with Knott's guests having already used the 4-hour window. They wanted to make it impossible to use by cramming all pass holders with all-season dining into narrow 90-120 minute windows around noon and 6pm. It was pointed out that this was unreasonable, including by myself, both because they had sold passes under the 4-hour terms, and because those passes valid at Knott's had already been subject to those terms. Changing after the fact was thus wrong. They realized their mistake and corrected this. Basically all of the perks of Prestige over Gold and Platinum are essentially pure profit. Much like FastLane (Plus). Both are premium products, ways to get more money out of the guest. Sure they could limit the numbers they sell. Or they could just raise prices if they sell like hotcakes. Why set a limit and turn guests away when you can just let higher prices do it for you?
  21. Ask the park, or @DonHelbig. A new 2023 Prestige+ Pass would include admission and parking, amongst other benefits, for the rest of the season. Theoretically a renewal should trigger the same but it's best to get word from the park directly.
  22. CP only is $950, with the same all parks option for $999. Only $49 more at that point is a no-brainer on Prestige+/Platinum... What don't you understand? Prestige Pass is inherently limited by pricing it as a premium product. That could easily cut sales in half from Gold/Platinum levels. That reduced number of passes gets 1 front of line pass per day, whenever they should choose to visit that season. Not all day FLP where they all must rush to use it on a select few days. Limits on limits on limits. Why do they need to put saying that each park will only sell X Prestige and Y Prestige+ passes (and/or Z total Prestige+ chain-wide)? What benefit does that really do anyone? Certainly not Cedar Fair, and not the guests who would like to buy it. Season Pass Fast Lane Plus is a whole other beast. Especially given how absurdly low they priced it early on, compared to the $100+/day going rate peak season. When you have guests who normally would spring for several days of FLP, or they could get it for the whole season, that's a no brainer for them. As for selling out? That's based on a business decision to put in a cap based on logic you're not privy to. Reality is that if they sell too many, that means that they priced it too low. Price it high, set a cap, and let everyone else pay the daily rate. Those who would pay for several days or all season FLP do it because they have the money to burn, and for them, it's worth it to be able to go often, ride a whole lot, but wait a little. Not skip one line and then wait 1+ hour each time they want to go back on Orion. Sure some will probably back down from Gold/Platinum + SPFLP to Prestige(+). Likely not a significant volume, which only provides a minimal negation of the huge drop-off in impact on ride-length caused by 1 daily front of line pass all season vs. rushing to get everyone to use their one all-day FLP on a select few days. But sure, enjoy your doomsday prophecies...
  23. It doesn't specifically say but implies that the non-admission and general parking benefits may not carry over beyond the home park. Need to reach out to the park for clarification on that, though. Regardless, KI is 1 daily front-of-line pass. CP is 1 daily FastLane entry pass (not a wristband, just a 1-time pass). So you'd still end up waiting in line. They don't specify that it's FLP, just FL, though that could be an oversight. They are limiting the quantity. 1 per day per Prestige Pass holder and a Prestige Pass is ~$150 more than the comparable non-Prestige pass. How many Gold Pass holders do you expect will see these benefits and sign up to pay at least double for their pass?
  24. If only they had that idea... Oh yeah that's the normal early pass sale offer for the last several years. And applies to Prestige Passes. And some of the new Prestige-specific offerings are specifically slated to start in 2023 (e.g. Preferred Parking, Preferred Entrance, waterpark VIP area). With the FAQ stating:
  25. Why would they have a VIP entrance open after the park closes…?
