My impression is that Prestige is a new tier above the existing passes, given the price points, again as a "Prestige" version to complement the existing passes. It was bad enough when they tried to do away with Gold at KI, imagine them doubling the price from 2022 to 2023. Just trying not to assume since they haven't announced the offerings for each park yet.
-
Your guess is as good as mine, seeing as the traditional nomenclature is sticking around for 2023, at least at select parks. See MI Adventure with standard (Silver) Season Pass and Platinum Pass. Passholders should know by now that Gold is a certain feature set for the home park, and Platinum is for the entire chain. But then this is the same company that puts out merchandise that doesn't use the park's IP (e.g. some random font on a shirt instead of a ride or park logo)... Sometimes I wonder.

Base Prestige is Prestige Gold Prestige+ is Prestige Platinum

... Be in the park? Do the things you like to do when the park is open?? It's open, enjoy walking past the long lines of people waiting to get in, as you use your own special entrance?? Preferred Entrance. Open for 2 hours, at open, to allow you to breeze past the long lines of the rush to get in when the park opens. No need to staff it longer than that when lines are minimal anyway.
-
In KI's case, that may well be. Other parks will vary.
-
Preferred Entrance. There will be an entrance labeled Preferred Entrance. Likely 1+ dedicated lane at the existing front entry gate for 2 hours each morning. No waiting in line with the masses or even non-Prestige Pass holders. Separate from Early Entry but overlapping in time.

Top Thrill Dragster Incident

... that they're marking the underground utilities, in consideration for digging up.... something, somewhere? -
Not just any rock! A rock from under the shadow of the Eiffel Tower!

If the queue is a path with interesting things to see where it's not easy to jump ahead a bunch of rows, people might comply. Otherwise? Any time I've seen more rows open than necessary, almost everyone just jumps through/over the rails. Even going so far as to wait for me to walk around and then rail jump behind me.

Not WCPO? That really is a crime!

Yikes. HCSO seems awfully defensive. Also: Wow, so they do file crime stories under "Crime" over at WCPO!

Yep, it's fake. 100% fake. Weak trolling. Just someone playing on the fantasies of some enthusiasts to see a Wild Mouse-type ride on the beach. The first hint is that Cedar Fair currently has a 6 year lease on the land under California's Great America. with options to extend to 11. The park is not shutting down immediately. It's absurd to expect the park to start removing anything for at least the next few years, until they indicate otherwise. Building projects in the City of Sandusky are numbered sequentially. Each project # is issued once. Public records, too, so anyone can verify this. Note that I accompany my screenshot with a link directly to the source, unlike the sketchy picture of a screen shown above. They're currently up to project #J22-0593, so you'd naturally expect J22-0233 to have been filed months ago. And it was, precisely 3 months to the day before the fake image above. Correct, they're essentially just $0 upfront fee prepaid Visa cards, with a monthly dormancy fee after 92 days (so don't load too much more than you plan to spend in that time, in or out of the park). I haven't seen them in person yet but do the signs/kiosks not make this clear? Anyway, check out the FAQ from the park. Source: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/cashless

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
jsus replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
Yep, happens a lot on Google Maps for some reason. Outside the park, a store will relocate, for instance, and the street address will be changed. I'll go in and move the marker to the new location. It gets (even automatically sometimes) approved. I look at the map later, and it's back to the old location. So expect Tom+Chee to keep bouncing back and forth as it keeps getting reverted to the erroneous location. -
The state of Florida... As in:
-
Visible through the glass door on your right as you go to exit the park, yep.
-
That's exactly what it is. Sometimes they'll throw out a "this ride has reached the end of its usable lifespan" or similar, but the reality is, the reason why something was removed is because the park decided that the cost of keeping it was higher than the cost of removing it. The public shouldn't really expect to receive more than that. That said, again, not even giving the standard non-answer of "removed for future expansion" is much worse than Cedar Point announcing Top Thrill Dragster will remain closed for the 2022 season while they "evaluate its future". At least there, they let the public know they're working to determine if they can safely and economically reopen the ride. If there was any doubt that Slingshot was removed due to the FL incident, the lack of response from the park shows they had serious safety concerns they don't want to own up to. Not sure how we could read anything else into it.
-
Not really "allegedly" anything. That's the standard response. Everything gets removed for "future expansion", even Vortex with no immediate plans... When serious matters arise (which removing Slingshot in the aftermath of the FL incident is whether that's the direct cause or not), a certain individual named by WSAZ sure does seem to like to either ghost the media and public, or direct blame elsewhere. Not a good look for the park. Not reassuring when corporate has to say, "yeah, that's the person at KI you should talk to" and the media still gets no response.
-
Exactly, and I was providing an example of that. Then there's Cedar Point where for years you could re-scan your pass for re-entry but officially they instructed you to get a hand stamp.
-
Has it changed the last couple of years? Used to be at KI that a season pass could be scanned for re-entry, with the monitors over the exit lanes advising of this at the bottom of the screen. Only daily ticket holders needed a hand stamp (or whatever alternative they were doing for the pandemic). Now, at Carowinds once, they acted like I was trying to pull a fast one scanning the pass twice in one day. Luckily I'd gotten the hand stamp anyway but wanted to try the pass again...
