  2. Saw this today: https://cf-ki.secure.accesso.com/packageList/keyword/Daily%20Tickets?merchant_id=9248&emerchant_id=500&username=KITravelzoo&password=kingsisland One day ticket as low as $37 (plus fees). Seems like a decent price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Isn't that dollywood? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Visit #50 with the season dining plan. Nom nom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Please remove if this isn't allowed... But I messaged Les Productions Haut-Vol (company who created the last two cirque shows) via Facebook and they confirmed that they have a brand new show for Kings Island for 2018! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. So ki food blog retweeted cp food blog... But aren't both of those not actually officially Cedar Fair sources... So it's really no different from me tweeting something (possibly false) and then citing it here in the forum as a source just because it was tweeted by someone. Am I wrong here... Is cp food blog actually in the know and a legitimate source? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. So this is interesting... Her brother William was born Oct 30, 1840... Per that headstone. So you know... Human biology says that Missouri Jane could not have been born June 27, 1840 (only 4 months before her brother)... According to social security death records for William, he was actually born in 1841... So that would make sense (in terms of Missouri Jane being his biological sister), but it makes his headstone wrong. Also of interest, Per the kings mills Ohio Wikipedia page... There was a town in that area named gainsboro that was started in 1815... But it didn't prosper and eventually kings mills was established in 1884. So it's plausible that Missouri Jane, and her brother William, were born in this Gainsboro area, and then their family left for Illinois after Missouri Jane passed (1846) but before their next sibling (nancy 1856) was born... They possibly left when the town of Gainsboro (now kings mills) disbanded. Or Gainsboro could have been long gone by 1840... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks kighostguy.. I'll go search more. Where did you find the info about a younger brother? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I'm into genealogy... Not so much ghost... So I found the history intro interesting. Do you have a full picture of the headstone, or a full transcription of the text? Using genealogy tools/websites, I can find record of Stephen and Nancy galeener (maiden name malsbury), and records for at least two children they had... The first (i can find) is Nancy Alice (jr), born 1856 in Ohio. This matches, and she would have been 4 when Missouri Jane passed. The second is Stephen Clifton (jr) , who was born in February 1860, after the family had moved to Illinois. This matches the statement at the end, of Missouri Jane's parents being buried in Illinois... But seems odd that brother Stephen Clifton would have been born in February of 1860 in Illinois if she was born later that same year, but back in Ohio. I can't find any Ohio birth records for Missouri Jane, but I also can't find birth records for the siblings above... The info I have is from their Illinois marriage certificates later in their lives, or death certificates, or birth certificates of their children (referencing parents birthday)... So likely the Ohio records from that time weren't kept or are not yet digitized. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Montgomery inn bbq sauce at chicken shack (vs the Heinz sauce)... Or even the smokehouse bbq sauce instead of Heinz. That's it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Other tips related to three topics... Patent swap, you get a form at guest services when you enter... One parent waits in the coaster line with big kid(s), other parent hands with the little kid(s). Then at some point you swap. When the first parent rides, the ride attendant mark the form which does two things... It essentially validates it for the other parent to use the Fast Lane... And it marks that ride as "used" so you can't do the swap again. The parts of this we sometimes have trouble with are that it works best if the second parent rides immediately after, as the attendants remember their specific mark... But for a family, it works better to swap a few times per day. Also, it can be hit or miss about how many older kids can re ride with you... As they are essentially skipping the line too and making the line longer for others... But if they can't skip it and aren't old enough to wait alone then the parent can't really ride either. Most of the workers are pretty chill about it. Regarding food... You can load all of your family passes into the ki app... And then into Apple passbook. So then you stunt have to take multiple physical passes into the park... And if parents split up, either one can grab food for the family. Keep in mind your family needs to be in the park per the rules of the dining plan. Finally, if you have a stroller, we've never had issues bringing in our own small water bottles and just leaving them on the stroller. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. We have two members of our family with celiac. We've had good luck with the fest haus made to order gf pizza. We've also had good luck with the non beaded meats and Cole slaw in the smokehouse... The meats are now available at hanks burrito. We're still trying to confirm if the tater tots at hanks (sub for Mac and cheese) have gluten.. We assume yes since we haven't gotten a confirmed no. Potato works in Coney mall used to be a special treat for them, as they never get breaded chicken and rarely can eat fries... But if they bring a year round smokehouse to the dining plan they will be happy. I've heard the turkey dinner plate option at la Rosa can be gluten free, but haven't tried it yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. My kids are pretty convinced there are trees growing out of the concrete! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. In addition to the Mac bar in hanks, the other addition to the dining plan for winterfest is a ham or Turkey dinner plate (with sides) available at fest haus la Rosa Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'd say put it in the general one, as it might lead into menu changes for next season. Either way, any updates (additions) to the dining plan? Can you post a photo of the dining plan options? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Fyi.. I asked my winterfest question here because I don't look in the "coming attractions" thread for posts as most of them are actually speculation posts. Since others are asking questions in the main forum, can an admin move the winterfest thread to this forum? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Can we move this thread into the "Kings Island discussing" forum instead of coming attractions? I never look in this forum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Has anyone seen a show schedule (with times) for the live entertainment? The app lists the shows and locations... But not the times. I assume Friday will be busy, so I'd like to avoid the 5:00 car parade, but I'd also like to not miss shows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I'd assume that Kings Island would consider this type of information proprietary. At minimum it seems like something they wouldn't freely share with their competitors... So I'd be surprised if they openly share it via email. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. It's crazy. One of the busiest I've seen all year. They have employees parking on the grass fields and have opened the employee lot up for general public. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. My kids enjoy it. By this time in the season they are getting tired of just going to Kings Island (we're at about 45 visits for the year)... So the great pumpkin fest adds new excitement. We don't let our kids eat much candy, so the few pieces they get are really special to them... And they LOVE the sticky frogs and hands and the mini pumpkins and apples. I love the pulled pork at the island smokehouse. We usually swing in after church to run around and grab lunch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Mt was going straight up the stairs, but the line was all the way to the entrance... We thought it looked like 25 but decided not to wait Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Confirmed. Smokehouse is open, although they only had pulled pork sandwiches and breaded chicken tenders with fries or Mac and cheese. I'm happy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Anyone able to confirm if island smokehouse opened today? They are still listed on the haunt map as a dining option... So I'm hopeful as they should have removed it from the list if it was never going to open during this season Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Any chance smokehouse will be open during the kids Halloween stuff in Soak City?? A boy can dream. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
