DeLorean Rider Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Ever wondered what Rockin Roller Coaster at Disney MGM studios looks like? Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Supposedly, onride video is coming. Last I heard, it still wasn't operational. Anyone? Quote
PKIDelirium Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 As of last Friday there was no sign of it. Nothing has been installed in the train or booth yet, however the Coming Soon sign is still there. Quote
PKIVortex Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 At this point in the season it doesn't look like its going to happen. I could be wrong, but that sign has been there since April 21st. 2 1/2 month's later and still no ride video. Kinda makes ya wonder. Quote

I could be wrong, but that sign has been there since April 21st. 2 1/2 month's later and still no ride video. Kinda makes ya wonder. Yeah, I was wondering that myself because if they were gonna do it sometime this season they need to start fitting the trains with the cameras. They can redo the area where you pick them up whenever but with only a certain amount of trains to use which they need everyday, it's a little harder to take a train off the track to work on. How many trains do they have at FoF? I'm pretty sure they run three but do they have an extra one so they could put cameras in one while the other 3 run? Or are they already there and I'm totally oblivious? Quote
PKIVortex Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 FoF has 3 trains, but only runs 2. They retrofitted 3 trains to lap bars in 2001. They rotate one of the trains out each year. Notice this year the train with the orange seats isn't running. Quote
Ed Pickles Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I actually rode FoF a few weeks ago with the house lights on. It was near the end of the night and we were the last riders prior to the park closing. I asked one of the ops if we could turn the lights on... he said no problem and flipped them on. The light switches for the house lights inside are just to the right side of the front of the train where a ride op stands upon launch. As a side note, someone above said that there are no block brakes mid-way through the ride. That is incorrect. You can even see them in the pictures posted above - it is the straight area towards the top of the ride. It never really stops the trains, but can. Similar to the block brakes mid-way through The Vortex - they rarely bring the trains to a complete stop, but certainly can for safety purposes. Ed. Quote

They put it on a dvd along with a snapshot of you riding for 20 bucks. A little pricey, but not as bad as 50 bucks for 4 burger fries and Cokes!!! LOL Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I'd be happy to. But I need to know where and how. It's a vob file, I just joined the site yesterday, so I'm not real familiar with things yet. Quote

PKIVortex Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I didn't get a snap shot of me riding, just a video. Are you supposed to get a pic too? Quote
DeLorean Rider Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 use putfile.com or youtube.com. I'm sure you could find a free video converter on download.com. worse thing that could happen is that it has a watermark. Quote

LOL Some people were afraid the cameras would shine light in your face. Does it do that or are the lights infrared? If so does the video have a green tint like you see on some of the night vision cameras? Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 It's not green like the Paris movie, but there was no light either. It like a black and white movie, more like low color...probably some kind of light filter Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 The movie size is 230,588kb It's an mpeg. You tube, and break both say the file is too large to upload. Any other ideas? Quote
PKIDelirium Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Uhh, Ryan... VOB isn't a Mac file, VOB is the raw file on the DVD. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Uhh, Ryan... VOB isn't a Mac file, VOB is the raw file on the DVD. What's the proprietary iMovie format then? Sorry -- I'm a little stressed out for some obvious reasons. Quote

Delirium33 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I rode FoF today and I like how they show your raw on-ride-video on overhead screens. That way I can see what I look like on the ride without having to pay a penny. Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 OK...I got it up on you tube.....I converted the whole thing, ignore the watermark. also, after about 2:10 its all an add. Quote

I was down at Carowinds early in the year and purchased the DVD for Top Gun. It looks like there is much more video of you riding on the FOF dvd and less filler than there was on the Top Gun video. It looks great! I love your daughter's?? expression at the end of the ride. Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 yeep. My girl. I was worried when the ride first took off. I had never ridden the ride before, so I didn't know what to expect. She never rode one that went upside down, and she didn't want too!!! I thought I was in TROUBLE!!!! But, she ended up loving it, as did I. I can't believe that we go down at least once a year, and I had never rode it before!!!! It has quickly become one of my favorites!! Quote
