BoddaH1994
Darndest thing... Fearfest will officially change its name to Halloween Haunt's Scare Fairs... Don't expect for it to be too long before you hear a lot more where that came frome.
TOPGUN1993
I'm not sure if I like that name. The 2007 Park maps say "FearFest" But getting rid of this poster would be nice Click
hauntguy
I don't like it... I thought Fearfest was fine! Oh well, I'm not in charge. -Hauntguy
Monroe
A press release with a story line, I think Boddah1994 is on his way to becoming a script writer. Maybe a re-make of Dr Strange Love.
BoddaH1994
I told you! Not everything I post is a press release!!!!!!!!!
CoastersRZ
Not sure I like the new name. Too wordy. Halloween Haunt, or Scare Fair. But not both. I can`t say I`m not surprised this change is coming with the name. After they renamed Kings Dominion`s FearFest to Halloween Haunt and Scarowinds to Scarowinds` Halloween Haunt, I`m not shocked if this change turns out to become fact. Even Worlds of Fun renamed HalloWeekends to Halloween Haunt.

hauntguy
^ Agreed. I'd be happy with "Halloween Haunt's Fearfest" ... I guess we'll just wait and see. But so everyone, and KI, knows... "Scare Fair" is already a registered to another haunt. But I think they'll get away with it by putting the "Halloween Haunt" before it. Also, TOPGUN1993... Halloween Haunt is THE BEST haunted event you can go to besides Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. It's what started the theme park haunts! -Hauntguy
Monroe
If it looks like a press release and sounds like a press release, then it must be a press release. Just as if it looks like a link to a news article, it must be Interpreter with nothing better to do.

KI/KD fan
Seeing that many other Cedar Fair parks including Kings Dominion are calling their Halloween event Halloween Haunt I would not be suprised if KI gets this change. I was at Kings Dominion a few days ago and was very suprised when I saw the advertisments for Halloween Haunt. personally I do not like this change. fearfest was fine. Are they trying to make it appeal to families and younger kids more because Halloween Haunt just does not sound scary.
CoastersRZ
Actually, I believe that they were trying for the exact opposite effect. After all, Halloween Haunt was the original name of Knott`s Berry Farm`s annual October event. And that event will be in its 35th season this year! I really much preferred the name FearFest, and the FearFest logo. But what are we going to do? Cedar Fair since they bought the Paramount Parks, has seemed to want to try and build brand recognition. Just look at the fact that they came out with the same style of park logos for the Paramount Parks, and even some of the legacy parks. familyguyfun1
I do not think that is true because my dad was going to work there and they had a thing that is going on called scare fair but then fearfest.
Tassels
Seriously when I was working FF: HH parents SERIOUSLY though Holiday Horrors was for Children... i wonder if they EVER grasp the concept.. if Nick U. shuts down at 7pm... it must be for a REASON... ' not golly-g i think its time for us adults to go run around coney maul.. where the creepers and everything else is.. and give my 5yr old child nightmares.. yea.. the fear fest name change = lame... but thats just me.. im just a norm.... what do i know
BoddaH1994
^ From what I've been hearing, the above mentioned post will not be a problem this year.
The Interpreter
I strongly suspect that Cedar Fair thought the Fear Fest name was too easily confused with Fright Fest at a major competitor. I have more than once inwardly cringed when people who ought to know better have asked CF's media people what will be going on at Fright Fest this year... markr
Doesn't matter to me what the Holloween festival is called, as long as it is good, who cares? For Holloweekends at CP, I love how they line the causeway with warning signs leading up to the entrance of the park. I think it would be a nice touch if they could line the road leading to KI with similar signs.

The Interpreter
http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10434 I dunno, just felt like posting this link in here. You were almost exactly right a LOT earlier than that: ...if Cedar Fair wins [Kings Island], just sit back and watch more coasters pile into the park, along with a much improved fearfest (which would probably turn into another Hallowen Haunt).... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...ost&p=79791 (Most of that thread had to do with how Cedar Fair would "never" buy Kings Island. You speculated what would happen if they did...and on this part you were exactly right)
beastrider97
I think FearFest was fine. But I don't like that poster either!
Jasper
I will still call it Fearfest regardless to what its name changes to. I do the same thing with Flight of Fear, Fairly Odd Coaster, and Little Bills Giggle Coaster.
