Vortex
From what I am seeing the Old Fashion cars will be closed for ever on this Sunday night. I am not sure what the park is doing with the flyers some say good bye and others moving them. Also the Floral Clock looks like it will be gone also from Kings Island. Does anyone know if they are going to move the Carousel? It will look a hole lot out of place. Sad day at Kings Island. As for the IJ theming I give it a year and they will let it go. KIBeast
Actually, from what I have heard, the antique cars are only leaving for one season. They should be back in 2006. Moving the Flyers is an option they are looking at. Hopefully, they will relocate the Floral Clock.
King Bowser
Yup PKIBeast is right you should see the beloved cars back in 2006 but under a different theme.
RollerCoasterUSA
i'd love to see the tiques back but why theme them?? some rides are better left unthemed.. PKI needs to learn that now that they're in a theming phase.

ZosoBeast
WOW! The dust has not even settled on the big announcement and already were talking 2006 rumors?
Vortex
WOW! The dust has not even settled on the big announcement and already were talking 2006 rumors? well some people just don't what to see these rides go from the park. They have been their the longest and have not moved or have been updated. I have to say the old cars had a theme it was old Coney Island and now thats left the park. From what I made out from IJ coaster was going to be a wild mouse coaster like the one disney has in DCA. I thought it would only take up the room of the side that was not used not the hole area. Plus this ride looks like a coaster from rollercoaster tycoon 2.
RollerCoasterUSA
no it will not be a wild mouse coaster..lol not even close
BoddaH1994
Let's not forget, the park has never officially stated where IJ is going to be, so assuming that they're shutting down the Tiques Sunday is jumping the gun.
GrandPoobah
Looks like it's official - Tiques gone after Sunday: http://www.enquirer.com/midday/08/08132004...mday_PKI13.html
Skylab
Eh, the Antique Cars I can live without for one season. But, they wouldn't really get rid of the flyers, would they? Not my babies...

I heard Jeff say on the news last night that IJ was going to go where the Tiques currently are.
KIBeast
Why re-theme the antique cars? Same reason they added theming to the log flume and re-named it Wild Thornberry's. It did breathe some new life into the log flume. Plus, they added the on-ride photo.
BoddaH1994
Just imaging the amazing themeing you could have as you drive your Model T through a early 1900s town.
italianchef
The antique cars can be re-modeled as almost anything. They could be Nickelodeon with different cars for different shows, such as Rugrats, Wild Thornberrys, etc. Or they could be re-modeled after a specif show. We'll have to wait and see. I agree that re-theming an old ride to a current genre is a groovy idea. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
Ryan
Since it seems like 2006 will be a Nick Central expansion, it wouldn't surprise me if Tiques returned as the Nick Toon Pike, which kids seem to love. However, I'd love to see it themed to something like Sleepy Hollow in the woods, that'd be really cool.
flightoffear1996
Or you could drive through Like a different area of cartoons. Like rocket power, rugrats, and whatever else cartoon nickeldoen hase to offer.
ZosoBeast
Plus, they added the on-ride photo. That log flume has had an on ride photo for as long as I remember! Anyone remember when you bought your picture BEFORE you rode it and they handed you an orange flag to stick in your boat? That way they knew which one to take a picture of as it came down the hill? Anyone?

Coney_man
I Think that the Nicktoos Turnpike would make a huge comeback for the 'Tiques, but i think they might update the cars a little....but IJ:ST i cant wait to ride it....
MovieGoddess9704
Instead of having it NickToons what about making the cars into the Flintstones cars? Just an idea.
KIBeast
But, the on-ride photo on the flume has not always been there. Trust me, I have been riding that thing since it was built. I would have noticed.

coasterbilly
that stinks, i love the Hanna-Barbera characters, Nick is taking over, keep the traditional cartoons around!
Smurfs Enchanted Voyage
I guess I like Yogi Bear alot I also kinda like the flintstones but I agree Nick is taking over thats very sad but I have no doubt that PKI can theme the antique cars to Nicktoons Toonpike. Vortex
Also with Timer Warner gettting Boomrang in the Cincinnati area in the past mounth kids mite start know who the Hanna-Barbera characters are. I would like to see Yogi Beer and Fred Flinstone in the park walking around with the Nicktoons.
KIemployeeforlife
the HB characters and the nick charcters can never walk together because they are owned by different people. Plus I believe that they got rid of almost all the HB costumes because when GR did a survey with the kids they did not know who half of them were. You must remember that todays kids are into nick more than HB
King Bowser
Heck man, my 2 year old nephew knows who yogi bear is but this is the cool part all he wants to watch is the flintstones and scooby doo ...now if kids wanna see HB characters they can go to six flags parks or certain paramount parks besides that survey wasnt done right if you ask me.A lot of kids know who those characters are look at all the Hanna-berbara dvds being release look at cartoon network showing there cartoons on friday nights with johnny bravo.I want to add not all kids like Nick the kids in my hood hate nick because of a show called splat there more into Cartoon Network which by the way is stomping a mudhole in nicks ratings.
