Jeffy
I wonder if there will be plans to keep open Boomerang Bay, or keep open Nick water "ride" where you get soaked walking though the different spray apparatus? It's supposed to be 95 this Saturday!
BoddaH1994
Likely Boomerang Bay is already in rehab, and the Spongebob area will be converted into a foam area for Nick or Treat. I guess the answer is probably no on both accounts.
CarrieR
Yikes... I'll be there with assorted family (aged 2-62) this weekend. I guess we'll be riding Wild Thornberries a lot, LOL... and Congo, for those tall (and brave) enough.
welchce
And if the lines for Wild Thornberry's, Congo, and White Water Canyon are too long there's never a wait for the International Street fountain
CarrieR
Ha ha. That's even funnier considering there's a running joke with my roommate and I that at the end of a KI day, we throw the kids in the fountain for the swamp monster to eat. We've pulled it on every kid we've taken so far this year (seven?) and the kids going this weekend (another three or four.) (Wow, I've done KI with lots of random kids this year. LOL.) So maybe they'll just have to meet the swamp monster a little sooner! Ha!
CoastersRZ
I`d venture to say that White Water Canyon has also begun its winter rehab, as its exit will be utilized for the Tombstone Terror-Tory haunt at Halloween Haunt.
PKIVortex
Yeah usually WWC is closed for fall weekends. Anyone know if has it been open for the private parties? Usually it's closed then too, or at least when I worked at the park.

Jeffy
^Not in our lifetime! -Hauntguy There needs to be a change in the calendar to the Park. September is the best month for weather, the driest and less humidity than any other month during the open season. And before you say, KI needs to close or shorten operating hours due to the young employees going back to school. I think the Park would do better with more mature operators and employees myself. It is also a bummer that Boomerang Bay closes Labor day weekend too.
hauntguy
It's not that it closes on purpose... MOST of Sept. is rented out for company/private functions (P&G, Toyota, etc.)... And these events bring in ALOT of money!!! I don't see a change anytime in the near future! -Hauntguy
flightoffear1996
Yea I am assuming they pay to rent it out. Ticket sales and parking sales plus food. I have been on P&G day and its just as crowded as any other day. If you have more mature empoyees that means you got to have the more money to pay them. If your say 20 years old like me it wouldn't be worth my time to go in for anything less than $11 an hour. Of couse with that you can give them more respobility and tighter secutriy with the loose arctiles and probaly a faster dispatch time which leads to a safer park and in most cases happier guest. However the thing is when your going to try and higher older employess there really seems to be not much oppertiny for advancement in the field of ride operator (please correct me if I am wrong) so higher starting pay would be a must. Plus being only a seasonal job it probaly has a higher turnover rate which means someone is likely getting trained at all times and also would be a nussaince if you were trying to support your family on a seasonal job. There is many things to overcome when you say they need to have more mature workers. -Joe-
Beast1979
BB Wil get an expansion in 2008! I wonder what they will call Nick Universe next year. Beast1979
The Interpreter
I bet they will call it: Nick Universe.
Beast1979
Yea, they still got name rights for a few more years. Bummer. I can't wait 'till all the rides are rethemed. For some reason, rides named and themed after movies just takes away from the amusement park atmosphere. Beast1979
PKIVortex
There is plenty of room for advancement for a ride op. How do you think KI gets there Area Managers for rides. Also the Full Time Managers, they all had to start out somewhere. Ride Operator > Ride Supervisor > Rides Area Manager > then I would guess, that a Rides Area Manager could be promoted to a full time Rides Manager.
