Browntggrr
http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewt...p=496050#496050 There are some very intresting rides, as well as Flight Commander. And if you look closely, under the "Flight Trainer" definition it references KD as opposed to KI. Did KD have a Flight Commander or is this a mistake? CoastersNSich
Kings Dominion did indeed have a "Flight Trainer," like KI's. I saw it in an older roller coaster book, photo dated around 1991 when Anaconda was new. Not sure of its year of removal, which was likely around 1995. PKIDelirium
KD had one.
CoastersRZ
Wow. I never knew some of KI`s older rides like the Flying Dutchman, Bayern Kerve, and the Barrel ride next to Oktoberfest Gardens were manufactured by Intamin.

The Interpreter
Not only did Kings Dominion have an INTAMIN Flight Trainer, but some here have ridden it...
PKIVortex
I have, it was named Sky Pilot. I believe 1998 was it's last year at KD, as is when I rode it. I believe they moved the Scrambler to the area that occupied the Sky Pilot, cause they were doing a water park expansion in 1999 and needed the space where the Scrambler was. The weirdest thing was, the que wasn't built nothing like it was at KI. You entered the ride from the outside inside of the center like KI's was. Gordon Bombay
This is by far the coolest thing in the catalog... I knew they made the double like the zodiac at KI but I had no idea they had a triple! Does anyone know if this one is still operating at one of the great americas or which one it was at? I don't think any of these are around anymore. I know KI's was relocated to Australia's Wonderland (as was Flight Commander (seems everything in that spot at KI ended up going to AW)) and then relocated to Malaysia where no one knows if its operating or not. CoastersRZ
I don`t even know if any of the double wheel versions are operating at any parks in the United States anymore. As you stated, Six Flags Great America might have one, and Six Flags Great Adventure might also have one, but I seem to recall one park that had one of these recently (within the last ten years or so) decided to remove it to make way for a new attraction. PKIVortex
I think that was at the park in California, but it may have been at both Great America's. I know they had one at CGA, think Beverly Hills Cops 3.
The Interpreter
Sadly, none operate in the USA. See Steven Wilson's excellent (unofficial) page: http://www.greatamericaparks.com/skywhirl.html and this incredible forum page: http://www.greatamericaparks.com/forums/vi...6daf0d85e752af3
KIBeast
Combat, er, I mean Gordon, that does look like a cool triple wheel. Never knew that they made one with three.
Shaggy
The two Great Americas each had the Triple-Arm Wheel. Hersheypark and KI had the Double-Arm wheel. Astroworld also had a double armed "Astrowheel" and Magic Mountain had one called "Galaxy" I believe. However I don't think that these two were Intamin products. BTW, I rode both the Hersheypark, SFGAM and KI ones several times. Although I never felt comfortable on them. Something about the fact that the cars were held on by rusty chains ;-) Shaggy
Gordon Bombay
Shaggy, the astrowheel was gone long beofore astroworld was completely closed and demolished wasn't it? I don't remember seeing it during my first, only, and last visit in 2004. I bet my dad remembers it though, he used to work in operations management down there. XGatorHead 8904
I agree with you Shaggy. When I was younger I had no problen with Zodiac, but when I got old enough to realize that we were being held up by chains, and they were looking rusty, I started to get nervous. But for some reason I kept riding...
