The Interpreter
And before someone asks, Ride Trade is the selling division of INTAMIN.
odettekitrigisele
Shane over at TPR has posted some more pictures. I used to have this along time ago but lost it when my basement flooded. Be sure to check out this post here. This is really interesting, the pictures are so clear. I love all of the measurements listed to the side. I have never seen much information about the Eiffel Tower. Thanks for posting it!
Thrill_Biscuit
Wow! Awesome find! That's the fourth different name I've seen for the tower ("Kings Island Tower", "Eiffel Tower", "Lattice Tower", and now "Paris Tower"). "Kings Island Tower" is what Mason locals called it; I don't know if that was ever an official name for it. Cool. Great Post! [EDIT] ...and "Lattice" tower I found on the Intamin web site. Outdoor Man
it actually shows the tower under construction. Any other pictures of that anywhere?
Thrill_Biscuit
I wonder if any of the local TV stations has any archive film/video of the construction of the tower (or the whole park for that matter)? I'm sure there had to be some kind of story about this giant amusement center being built between Cincinnati and Dayton. It would be cool to see some guy in a plaid sport suit, with porkchop sideburns and giant sunglasses, reporting from the site of the "New Coney Island location in Kings Mills"... I saw in another post last year, that there are some construction pictures somewhere in one of the offices.
The Interpreter
You would mean in the lobby/stairwell of the International Street Restaurant, among other places....

Gordon Bombay
Did any other parks beside KI and KD install latice towers?
Raptor66
Hmm, Intamin says they will build it to any height desired. Did they also build the tower at the Paris resort in Las Vegas?
DeLorean Rider
I love how the Ride Trade site says: Paris Tower: Bring the romance of Paris to your park or city. The tower can be supplied at any height, like the origional Eiffel Tower in Paris or higher! Would someone seriously get one taller? Maybe in Las Vegas. Thrill_Biscuit
^Or Dubai, where they're building the world's most impressive new skylines, complete with the amazing "Burj Al Arab" and "Burj Dubai". I think Intamin would have its work cut out for it if it were ever to build a lattice tower to their high-reaching standards... Browntggrr
Would someone seriously get one taller? Maybe in Las Vegas. The Eiffel Tower in Vegas was supposed to be an exact replica, but the casino is located too close to the airport and they had to settle for a 1/2 scale model. Now if Intamin built that one, I am not sure. I can't seem to find the info for that one.
Jasper
Does anyone know why they closed the 252 Ft. Level?
CoastersRZ
Uh, the 252 foot level is not closed. They just normally utilize the upper platform. However, if they are expecting rain, they will use the lower platform, as the floor of the upper platform acts as a roof. The fifty foot platform has long since been closed. I`m not sure when it closed, but I`d say around 1990. It was likely a result of that platform not being ADA compliant, and the fact that KI didn`t want to pay for staffing that level to make sure guests behaved and didn`t do stuff they weren`t supposed to be doing up there. Jasper
I have never been on the lower platform just the upper one and i have always wondered why no one ever goes. Thanks for clarifying that for me. On the 50 Ft. platform when you are going up i have noticed before that there is a whole bunch of wires and lights laying on it could this be another reason why it is not in use? RaCeR
Still posting from school. My teacher mr.dipietro is so dumb. These laptops my school owns sucks so bad. There very slow and stupid.Well anyway those are some cool pictures, but does anyone have a picture of the Eiffel Tower acctually being constructed and put together? That would be cool. tubaman
I'm trying to think, I only believe that I've been on the upper platform of the tower as well, but I'm not sure.

Are these lap tops so old that they do not have spell check? However, to actually make this post worth while, I strongly doubt that Dubai would build a "Paris Tower". Much of their architecture there is ground breaking, new, and very unique. I, honestly, don't see another "Paris Tower" being built, it was ground breaking when KI/KD did it, not so much anymore. I'm not 100% sure, but, didn't Intamin build the Oil Derreck at SFOT too, and the one at SFMM?
The Interpreter
I know the oil derrick tower at Six Flags Over Texas is an INTAMIN, and I assume the one in California is as well....
DiSab
those habits will stick and will royally bite you in the butt in college. Yeah, I can second that one, although I didn't do it in high school. But I do have the tendency to do it in class every now and then now that I'm in college, and it's not the most fun when test day rolls around. I'm not 100% sure, but, didn't Intamin build the Oil Derreck at SFOT too, and the one at SFMM? I would think that they did, cause those towers look an awful like the other Intamin lattice tower installations.

I was about to comment about RaCeR wasting time at school by posting, but then I took a look at myself... posting from work! But at least I paid my dues by paying attention in high school and college (of course back then, Al Gore had not made the internet readily available yet ), which allowed me to get a job where I can fill in my free time by posting on here. Braves0511
Don't even talk to me about paying attention in High School lol...I just failed my last trimester of band!!! for the second time! yes that takes a lot of talent. But see, the logic here is what is the fun in passing an unfailable class? I just did the impossible! Everyone should worship me or something... But seriously, good find! Construction Pix would be very cool, not just of the tower but some of the other older rides. I've seen very few pictures from before 2000 give or take and would love to see some of the original costruction.
