Special Parking

I was at KI on Mother's day. I have a Platinum Pass, I asked the employee who checks your pass for free parking or paid parking what exactly the special parking was up near the front of the park entrance to the left. The employee proceeded to tell me that if I wanted to park there I had to pay $5. My ? is, who exactly does park there and can't platinum passholders park there? I don't mind the walk from GP parking and could use the walk but I never see that lot full.

Thanks so much.

Your platinum pass is only a gold pass at Kings Island, entitling you to free parking and the ability to park in the gold pass parking. The area opposite the handicapped parking is for people who pay $15 dollars to park there. Hence the reason you would have had to pay a extra $5 to park there.

I guess I don't mind the walk when the food is so overpriced, why would I want to pay $5 more to park in a special zone? My kids can walk too, they don't know we used to have trams. CP has never had trams.

Thx for letting me know.

I will be taking my grandma with me when we go soon. She is handicapped and uses a wheelchair. Where is the handicapped parking in relation to the Premuim parking and or Gold Parking.

I have a Platinum pass, so where would be the closest for me to park?

If you want over priced parking come on over to SFGam

General parking = $25

Value parking $15 for the overflow lot

But...at Six Flags, arguably only one person in the family needs a parking pass--but that person must be in the car to get "free" parking....at Cedar Fair, if you want to go to other parks than your home park, you MUST have a Platinum Pass for each member of the family. Not to mention that the season pass prices at both chains were less before the season got into full swing. That's the nature of the business.

Both chains have their quirks.

Did any gold pass holders see the person checking the passes at the gold pass lot Saturday afternoon between 3 and 6PM? That was me wearing the bright lime green shirt. I had one person that showed me their parking reciept for the preferred lot and they thought that this was the preferred lot. I said that the preferred lot was to the left of the main entrance on the other side of the handicap lot. I have read several messages in the past about the gold pass lot not having anyone checking for passes. I can assure you that I turned away several cars that did not have a gold or platinum passes.

That is a very broad and very incorrect statement. The reason I said you post was silly was because the person who posted immediately before you said that he was working the Gold Pass parking booth checking for passes. And I have seen numerous times on my visits to the park this year them checking for gold passes. To say that there hasn`t been an employee checking passes all season is an incorrect generalization.

I am entitled to say what I have seen! I notice my other post was deleted, now again, what time does the parking lot open?

To say what you have seen is one thing to but to apply what you have seen to all times (including times where the opposite has happened) is "quite silly."

Now if you have actually watched the booth to the entrance of the Gold Pass lot all season, then you can say...

there was no employee standing there, hasn't been an employee there all season.

But obviously you haven't been watching that booth all season because we have an employee saying that they were in fact there for 3 hours the other day and an outside source saying they have seen people checking on more than one occasion.

Did you not just read the post right before yours? It makes your post seem quite silly!

NOT silly when there was no employee standing there, hasn't been an employee there all season.

I was there working this past Saturday. I am hard to miss. I stopped several that were either driving while eating or talking on their cell phone or they just did not look. I was standing in the road and waving my hand for you to show your pass and not waving hello. We wear the bright lime green polo's not because they are in style (NOT!) but so we can be seen. It's the same color that work crews wear while working on the road.
