KIBeast
Not bad for 1.2 million. I guess this rumor finally came true.
cstrwomann
I hate to see the classics go up for sale. I will miss Laser at the park it was a good ride. I hope it finds a good home somewhere else.
The Interpreter
Sigh. It's sold: http://www.usedrides.com/viewpicture.asp?e...sessionint=True See the top left corner, which is easy to miss...
flightoffear4thtrain
As of now, is it still operating at Dorney Park?
The Interpreter
Yes, it is still operating, last I heard--which was yesterday. But I sincerely doubt it will be at Dorney after this season. It could close at any time.
flightoffear4thtrain
I wonder if they're will be any details on where it is going anytime soon. Any Coaster Enthusiasts should get as many rides on that classic coaster before it is removed and taken somewhere else. Another note: I wonder if it went for its asking price of 1.2 million. That seems a little hefty.
tigellinus
Sigh. It's sold: LOL....you should be happy....it's going to enthusiasts' favorite park of all time: Holiday World!! IMO, this is JUST the beginning for Laser! (getting to live amoungst charm, that is!)
TOPGUN1993
Where does it say it is indeed going to Holiday World?..... Why would they want a 29 year old coaster in the first place.
tigellinus
^^Perhaps a cheap price on a good steelie that they could give some TLC to and a nice setting of trees galore to totally revitalize the experience!!
Gordon Bombay
^^Perhaps a cheap price on a good steelie that they could give some TLC to and a nice setting of trees galore to totally revitalize the experience!! while I could see this being a nice addition there, where in fact did you hear its going to Holiday World?
KIBeast
All I've heard, Ronny, is some specualtion that it will go to HW. There is a thread over at coasterbuzz that discusses some new markers at HW. Supposedly, some patrons have been asking for a steel looping coaster and some say it may find it's way there. I don't know of any solid evidence. welchce
Yes, it is still operating, last I heard--which was yesterday. But I sincerely doubt it will be at Dorney after this season. It could close at any time. And it also makes it a lot easier since it's portable.
gnarkiller
I hope HW gets Laser, it could fit in great at the park, maybe in 4th. of July section?

welchce
There are footers now, huh? Hmm... Sorry, I meant to say markings. I have no idea if there are footers. But that picture was taken over a month ago.
ahank
It'd be interesting to go see... I'll do a bit of research on this subject

FOFreak
OK, of my anylisis it doesn't even look like thier enough room for laser anywhere except In the area between Voyage and the road but it'd be a tough fit, also as I was at the top of the lift hill on the Voyage I saw no markers. Publicity stunt maybe?
The Interpreter
(Ended up being owned by a German traveling show. So much for Holiday World. And I miss it still...)
calakapepe
Looks like Holiday World will only ever install new rides from here on, if they can make it happen. Wildebeast, Mammoth, Thunderbird
McSalsa
I am assuming since most of these posts were from the summer of 2008, that the footings/markers reported were from what was actually Holiday World's 2009 attraction, Pilgrims Plunge... ...which, a mere 5 years later, was gone. In hindsight, perhaps Holiday World should have bought Laser instead...it would probably still be around today had they done so, since it is currently running in Europe. Alas, hindsight is 20-20 and at the time a 135-foot tall boat ride must have seemed like a great idea, and it was a fun ride when it did work...but obviously, it was down way too often for the park's liking in the end. (Though it was at some point open and I did ride it on all 3 of my Holiday World trips when it was still there- guess I got lucky with the Plunge...)
TombRaiderFTW
And, as it turns out, Holiday World was originally planning a B&M Inverted Coaster at the time. They released a brief, partial glance at the overhead view of it during one of the Thunderbird construction vlogs. Never rode Laser, but I enjoy most Schwarzkopf loopers I've ridden enough that having one at Holiday World would likely have been pretty awesome. Oh well!
